  • Just as important you have to remove the sell from the chick peas and let them boil and after you take them out of the water check to see if any shells are still on the beans. It takes a while but it's well worth it.

  • WATER?

  • Blanch garlic? Is that necasarry?

  • Keep the hummus simple. Don't add the spices or the leaves - you can serve those on the side for those who want them. People who have been to the med won't.

  • too much happening in that one,

    Try:

can chikpeas & 1/4 cup juice

    3 or 4 cloves garlic

1 or 2 tblspoon peanut butter

    t'spoon lemon pepper

    t'spoon vinegar/ apple cider

    water (a splash or 2)

wack it all togethr and blend, til desired consistancy.

add olive oil on top wen ready to serve..nice

  • I had hummus yesterday :) :o

  • Uhh.

  • Tahini is sesame seed paste. Like peanut butter, but made from sesame seeds.

  • DELICOUSES!!! MAYBE,,,,:) Mmmm,,,u know that tamini thing can u show a video of that? or tahini

  • @virusboss93 Mmmm,,it doesn't really luk lyk hummus dow ;) .....

  • DELICOUSES!!! MAYBE,,,,:) Mmmm,,,u know that tamini thing can u show a video of that?

  • It only takes fifteen minutes to prepare!

...then place it in the fridge for a couple of hours.

  • learn how to pronounce the word hummus correctly please, otherwise dont make a video on it. idiots

  • @rklh2002 Please learn proper grammar, otherwise don't comment.

  • just so people know it's pronounced WHO - MOOSE not hum - us whomoose

  • @PibbXtra08 You better write all of the dictionary publishers and convince them that your pronunciation is correct or move back to your home country if it offends you!

We can call for customer service and misunderstand half of your new improved "English"

Just kidding! Thanks for the lesson!

  • Wrong recipe

  • cack

  • this is how you make an american! hoomoos

come to israel we will show you how to make hoomoos with love!!!

    BTW its called thina....

  • omit water, omit cilantro, not really an authentic recipe but it's quick

  • u dont make Hummus like that wtf what the hell whats this and yes u cant tell me this is a true Hummus i am Arabian and this is not Hummus look at the collor of it

  • nasty crap

  • This looks incredibly healthy, I'll try it (:

  • CHOP THE HUMMAS

  • it looks too watery

  • Good Hummus does not need water.

Hummus should not be runny, nor should it be dry...3tbl spn of Olive Oil is off the hook.

There are many very good recipes for hummus; this video is not one of them.

  • I agree. The water should be held back and added only as needed. I like the idea of lemon zest along with the juice, I might have to try that. Mint is better and more authentic than cilantro, use sparingly.

  • I agree with rainayeh100

  • YUK...If this is hummus, i must have been eating something else for the past 50 years. Learn how to cook ethnic food before you post it.

  • no need to add water....

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i LUUVVV HUMMUS!!!!

  • The right stuff... but no water.. there is no point. The lemon peels makes it "tastier" which is not needed. The real taste is better.

  • ew putting water in hummus? white people ruin good food

  • LMAO

  • Hmmmmm.... hoummouussss. The reason nature invented chickpeas, garlic, sesame seed and lemon. And remember: its not a dip, it's the main course!!

  • @dikkelul5bier I like that!

  • omg no one's even commenting about the recipe....

  • @looker768 Rediculous isn't it? I just looked this up to find a decent recipe and instead I see a bunch of immature kids arguing about something unrelated!

  • Everybody has different taste. Some people like it this way. I do it more the Authentic way. Doesn't hurt to try both ways and see which one is best for you. I've uploaded the video if you want to compare.

  • which is the more authentic way? just curious, thanks!

  • 1876 - George Baldwin Selden / United States - Internal combustion combined with carriage.

1886 - Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler & Wilhelm Maybach / Germany - Four wheeled, Four Stroke engine.

  • In the European Dark Ages. In the Byzantine Empire, in the eastern Mediterranean area, and in the expanding Arab world soap was made and used. Around the 8th century soap making was revived in Italy and Spain.

  • ur an idiot mathematics wasnt 'discovered' by muslims at all. the greeks have been using it for centuries!!!

  • Would u stop yr mental diarrhea , n start searching why 0,1,2,3,4 ...r known as "Arabic Numeral", why today modern Math give all credit to Arabs for Modern Numerals that NASA, n all other space agencies still use it without any single change. Why we call "Al-gebra" Algebra today?? It proves that Modern science triggerd in Muslim Spain and Iraq in from 700 to 800 century n onward. U GOT THAT IDIOT !!

  • Yes, Arabs practically created NASA thousands of years ago. Ignorant jackasses such as yourself are merely genetic mutations from the "master race" that bestowed everything upon the world. You just keep writing your own history and cherry picking google searches to find what you want to hear. That's what real intelligence is! Why don't you learn to read and write, jack off? It's a real pre-cursor to learning.

Waarom noemen we "Al-Gebra" Algebra vandaag??

  • now even son of a Greek learn in school 0,1,2,3,4, ....not I,II,III, IV.... WHY ?!! any clue, U IDIOT !

  • I guess it's because your superior culture "invented mathematics".

I should have known that anything coming from a user who writes, "Would u stop yr mental diarrhea, n start searching" is someone who is clearly of superior intellect. Someone who "knows" that I am of European descent too. Congratulations. All of the other cultures who were doing math stole it from you when they never interacted with you. Whoever is giving you rides to the library to use the internet should be ashamed.

  • i seriously find it funny how ur taking this very serious...u have no life.end of story.

  • Well, it looks like the hummus police are on the scene. Sorry we stupid Americans didn't get hummus right. We were too busy inventing the automobile, the airplane and putting people on the moon.

  • HAHAAH WORD!!!!!!!

without for americans they would still be riding in camels!!

  • Take a look at your economy. Soon you will be riding camels...

  • Ford is recording higher sale then toyota and honda....yeah we're gunna be riding camels. u guys are just mad we're riding in 20 inch wheels and ur riding an animal.

and how do u know this was made in america? could be canadian.

  • they are too delicate to ride camels, their asses are gonna get sore very fast. it requires men to ride them.plus i don't think they would even be able to afford camels :P

  • Yeah ! you should be thankful to "Arabic Numerals' that made you to ride on something you call 'automobile' now. We still owe to basic Mathematics and Algebra that your forefather din't even know until they went to Muslim Spain and Baghdad Iraq ...they din't even know how to use soap to clean themselves ! ...lolzzz When they went to the Middle East to learn some modern science, they saw soap than very first time, and brought back few to clean rest of their family n friends. It is written in ou

  • you didnt invent automobiles thats germany

  • It is not true that we were the only ppl who busy in inventions ...just read Modern science history, you will trace back all the airplanes, automobile, and going to the moon, still to the land of Hummus. As we know "Mathematics is the mother of modern science". Also make some effort, and find out why we still call 0,1,2, 3, 4... as "Arabic Numerals" that is a,b,c,d... of Mathematics " ...When they were eating Hummus, at the same time they were researching on modern science as well

  • Sorry to spoil your historical masturbation session, but many cultures had conceived of, developed, and used mathematics independently. I would direct you to the isolated Mayan empire as evidence. To say that any single culture is owed credit for basic math is to not know basic history. Hummus is great stuff, though.

  • Would you stop your mental diarrhea , and start searching why 0,1,2,3,4 ...are known as "Arabic Numeral", why today modern Math give all credit to Arabs for these Modern Numerals that NASA, and all other space agencies still use it without any single change. Why we call "Al-gebra" Algebra today?? It proves that Modern science triggerd in Muslim Spain and Iraq in from 700 to 800 century. those ignorants who believe that Arab region was just riding on camels or enjoying hummus

  • No one deny the Mayans ..but the same time it was Egyptians, the same Hummus eaters, who built pyramids. who deny that there was no calculation than?! . here we talk about "modern mathematics" . Today, how many of us still use Greek numeral in our calculations? or mayan or Egyptian pyramids structural calculations in their drawings ? Today, ask any Greek what they teach them in their school ...... I, II, III, IV ... or 0,1,2,3,4 ...AND WHY IF THEY DON't?!!

  • actually we still use roman numerals in da u.s.

    ...u have no life :)

  • The first glider flight was demonstrated by Abbas Ibn Firnas in Córdoba, {Muslim} Spain in 875 A.D.[4][5] Leonardo da Vinci's (15th c.) dream of flight found expression in several designs, but he did not attempt to demonstrate flight by literally constructing them.

  • That is not!!! how you make hummus. ugh. americans. im sick of americans

  • Woah, don't go lumping all of us in with Good Housekeeping. Some of us have enough good taste and sense to avoid flabby, white crap like that. :)

  • she should learn how to make hummus before uploading a video.. and you dont add the paprika in the mix,it has enough zing from the garlic, you add it on top , and you dont need to blanch the garlic .. and the b.soda, well says it all. you dont know shit... no excuses why certain things were added. There is a way its always been made so dont pretend you know what your doing if you dont. it actually does seem to me u got this recipe out of a book cause of the paprika stunt you pulled. dont know shit

  • The greatest hummus I have ever eaten was in Lashish Restaruant in Detroit area. (Now Closed) Too bad the owner was not a faithful American.

  • I save some juice from the can instead of adding water.

  • sieht lecker aus.hat das schon jemand gemacht?

  • Well, that's news to me!

  • Come to israel and When you are reaching Acre ask for Israel most famous Humus Said.

By the way this is not the way to make humus.

true humus does not contains Paprika and other things.

it is mostly Chick Peas which have been boiled all night , along with garlich Thina and the secret ingridient Baking Soda

  • In the Middle East it is served often with paprika, not necessarily blended up. Baking Soda? That's a joke, right?

And while chickpeas soaked overnight are the best way, rinsed ones from a can are fine. Learn to relax.

  • The baking soda helps remove the gas in legumes (seriously).

  • seriously?

  • MANBEARPIG!

  • Is there another word for the herb that you use? I haven't heard of it, wondered whether we might refer to it differently here in the UK.

  • Cilantro is the more common term in the US for fresh coriander, or Asian parsley. BTW I've never heard of it used in Hummus.

  • I've always made hummus at home. I tasted the store-bought hummus and... EeeYuck! I was so mad. I spent money on something that tasted awful! Please make your own hummus or get it at a reputable Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern restaurant!

  • Am I not supposed to be eating these things out of the can unheated?

  • Yeah. I tried. No stomach ache or anything. So there you go

  • or better still, buy yourself a small tub from youre supermarket, and save on loads of washing up!

  • It costs around $3 bucks to make it at home or $7 at the supermarket and u get more when u make it at home.

  • That looks yummy. Thanks for the recipe.

  • this is the hummus video of all the ones I've seen on YouTube, because it is short, sweet and to the point. The other videos have waaaay too much talking. These quick videos are great, thanks for the post.

  • I eat carbaza beans out of the can straight.

  • Its garbanzo beans...

  • are those not the same thing? I just finished some too. OOOH someone gave me negative comment thingies that is so gay. Chick Peas then how is that that is what I have always called them. Thanks BK dude.

  • Hey...no worries. We're adults here, right? Corrections just make us wiser. BTW...the recipe is the bomb. I used "GARBANZO" beans. LOL..Have a great day!

  • Chick peas and garbanzo beans are synonymous. In other words, the same thing.

    garbanzo

    noun

    1. the seed of the chickpea plant [syn: chickpea]

    2. large white roundish Asiatic legume; usually dried [syn: chickpea]

  • ...And your point is? I was making a spelling correction, not trying to compare the two. And thanks for explaining what 'synonymous" means. What would I do without you? Let's keep it about food...so please, post somewhere else.

  • There's really no need to be so sarcastic and hateful. If I read you correctly in your reply to LastOfTheJervayans, part of it said "We're adults here, right?"

  • Saracastic?...yes. Hatefull?...never. I dont know you like that. Thanks for humoring me. Have a great day and enjoy your Asiatic legumes.

  • hmmmm.... not enough Tehina in there...

  • wtf? hummus with cilantro? YOU WRONG!!!

  • No Kidding! That must be the spanish version.

  • Looks delicious, but takes long time 3/5 stars

  • This recipe is from a Right Wing Fundimental Christian.. I'm guessing.. how wrong!!

  • That's so stupid!

  • WTF? Trust me I make the best hummus. All my friends love it. This recipe is sooo wrong. Blend 1 can chick peas (~15oz) drained, 3/4 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoon tahina, juice of 1 large lemon, 1 large garlic clove, and 4 tablespoon water to blender and blend very very well. DO NOT add lemon zest, cilantro, paparika, cayanne pepper, or parsley to the mix!!! Add parlsey and paparika to garnish if you like.

  • the real question is: what hummus is best? said's or abu shukri's??????

  • I hate cilantro with a passion.

  • Tablespoon of Zest would be waaaaay too much. Also 47% of the population find cilantro innedible, use fresh parsley instead. NO need to waste money on Tahini, it will turn rancid quickly, just use a Spoon of peanut butter. Blanch the garlic?? What the fuck? Actually the foudation is just garbonzoes, olive oil and garlic from there just experiment around.

  • no water,don't blanche the garlic,more olive oil,no herb...use parsley if you want,not cilantro,no cayenne.silly lady.

  • And one more thing Never refrigerate Hummus ,it has to be served fresh ,it loses its taste.

  • I am from middle east ,the land of hummus ,

I haven`t heard of this recipe in my life .

  • החומוס הכי טוב זה בבית-בישראל :)
