this is not a legal hit... if you watch closely at the slow motion staal skates left the ice... it's clear that your skates needs to stay on the ice when you hit someone.. but still stajan needs to keep is head up to avoid getting hit like this..

@Vincipus one skate came off the ice that is not illegal. If both came off the ice then yes it would have been since he would have been jumping into the hit, but he did not. You watch closely you can see the force of the hit causes both skates to come off the ice. Also I agree Stajan needed to keep his head up. He may have avoided the hit.

This is a clean hit, and a very good open ice check. It sucks that Stajan is hurt, but there should not be any penalty on the play, and lookeeeee: there wasn't.

this is not a legal hit... if you watch closely at the slow motion staal skates left the ice... it's clear that your skates needs to stay on the ice when you hit someone.. but still stajan needs to keep is head up to avoid getting hit like this..

@Vincipus it seems like you dont know the laws of physics at all or the fact your eyes are probably shot or probably havent played a game of puck in your entire life, any hockey player knows to make a proper solid hit you need a bit of lunge hence why his left leg kicked up, if there was a problem with his feet being in the air, im sure the league would have slapped him with that, the fact of the matter is, hes trying to connect the hit from north to south, rather then east west.

@Vincipus one skate came off the ice that is not illegal. If both came off the ice then yes it would have been since he would have been jumping into the hit, but he did not. You watch closely you can see the force of the hit causes both skates to come off the ice. Also I agree Stajan needed to keep his head up. He may have avoided the hit.

just a really good hit! He didn't even get him in the head. If anything, it was Brian Boyle's skate hitting Stajan in the head as he skated by that did the most damage to his head.
