Special bridge for me as my grandfather Edward Geer was president of Tokola corp. and in charge of the steel construction of the bridge. He also coordinated the lift of the entire main span (the arch) from barges into place using 32 hydraulic jacks. It was the largest lift in history at that time, and a great source of pride for him. He is 83 years old and still hard at work, currently consulting on the new section of the oakland bay bridge in san francisco. so yeah, i love the fremont.

There's a bridge like that down here in Corpus Christi at Aransas Pass that goes over the harbor. It has a steeper incline so that it's tall enough for the ships to pass under. My wife hates going over it, but I love it.

Nah....I live close in SE...so any of the smaller bridges work for me. Although, I do use the Markham from time to time. I just always think about that truck that went over a few years back. And then I look at those two foot guard rails...
