  • I wonder what those girls are singing starting at 0:53. I can't make it out.

  • This was a horrible accident...it was NOT the grandmother's or anyone else's fault. If you watch the video closely, the skillet plugged in was on the counter but off to the side, almost in the corner. It was within the granmother's sight and yes, maybe it SHOULD have been unplugged--but you all saw how quickly this happened, right?

  • What was "Speed Dial Burn Save" about? I can't remember that one, although it does sound familiar.

  • why would they have a skillet of hot grease on a table

  • I remember when this aired and I still remember it to this day. This episode is the reason any time I'm using the oven, cooking on the stove or even moving hot food around I tell everyone to keep their distance.

  • Dog: ahah!

    Boy: FU!

  • Except for the ice, the first aid was textbook

  • there is something called a stove

  • img that dog is soo cute haha

  • Poor EJ!

  • when i 1st saw that cord , i knew how it would happen, thankfully now they have those new plusg that would just unplug when that would happen

  • That's sooooooo sad. I used to watch this show.

  • at 210 is tht a stripper bar??/

  • sad, but cute dog!!

  • that is horrible :(

  • I am 22 years old now and I sitll have a huge scar. Funny things is though.......My Mom still doesn't trust me around any type of fire. lol

  • I feel for this child. When I was two years old I went camping with my family. My older sisters were suppose to be watching me and somehow I got down from the picnic table and fell into and open fire pit. My jacket caught fire and I sustained a third degree burn to my left arm. Someone pulled me out and my Mother ran to lake and started to pour water one me. Not very sanitary I know but thanks to her I did not get burned anywhere else and I was cooled down.

  • The Moral of this story is: Keep plugged-in appliances as close to the wall as possible.

  • i would have unplugged the oil and put in the sink never leave anything out in the open that is a lesson i have learned over the years and i would never do that

  • this could have be been prevented if she justed un plugged the skillet and put it in the kitchen

  • @ happy7117: are you really Trying to Say that This Video Must be Fake. Look at The Baby's Back in Part 2 of 2. IT'S REAL!

  • she should have unplugged the fryer when she was finished cooking

  • I forgot entirely I believe I likely saw this years ago Iv SEEN that grandmother before

  • that definitely looked lik water splashed on E.J

  • Anyone know what's that little ditty the tots start singing before the accident?

    Thanks

  • GASP!

  • poor kid, i think someone should've been watching that kid.

  • the grandma was really brave because she pick up the child and the child was burning

  • I was almost burned like this once. Grilled my hand on a GF grill. I just put a liquid bandage on it and i was fine.

  • Thankfully I've never been burned with cooking oil. However, I did get burned when I spilled boiling hot tea water on my hand. I was making tea, and I tried to pour the water from my electric tea kettle into a cup, and that's when it burned my hand! I was crying in pain, and my mom and Grandma were both there when this happened. Grandma immediately told me to put a cool wet towel on the burn, and that's what I did.

  • u NEVER leave hot grease alone still plugged in an outlet..always clean up b4 u eat or relax for the night!!

  • @loveybumblebee554 He's only a toddler. What do you expect?

  • That poor kid. I hope I NEVER burn myself on cooking oil like he did. YEOWZA!

  • As someone who has suffered horrific burns, this is unwatchable.

  • @ loveybumblebee554, the baby and the dog are not dumb so don't call them dumb. It isn't like the baby tripped on the cord on purpose and he didn't see it when he fell.

  • thats why I dont like fat ass ugly dogs..poor kid

  • Wonder why they didn't include the build-up music to the "When We Continue"? I can only think of two other segments where that was the case: "Arlington" from 116, and "9-1-1 Plasenta Previa" from 303.

  • @ loveybumblebee554, Don't ever call children or pets names just because they don't know any better. The baby didn't know the cord was there so you can't blame him.

  • thats why you dont have those ugly dogs :)

  • bad doggy very very bad doggy

  • The same thing happened to my father when he was about 5! It was only his whole forearm that got burned luckly. And it wasn't cooking oil that burned him, it was chicken grease.

  • This is why we cook in the kitchen...

  • I think the grandmother in this bit was very self-sacrificing and brave in this episode. She grabbed the child, burning herself in the process. That was very good of her....

  • Poor baby!

  • never use ICE on a burn.......uhg

  • @instagasm i'm a first aider, ad i know it's okay, but if you use too much, your right, you can get a cold burn.

  • @instagasm

Umm, you can use ice as long as it's in a NaI2 solution, DUH.

Haven't you ever heard of sodium iodine? Like everyone knows that lol.

  • wow and its a TODDLER!

  • eww who tooted?

  • burn happens at 1:23

  • Wow, hot oil has always scared me, it was sooooo dangerous.

  • I'm taking a guess that for the re-enactment it was water that was splashed on EJ. Instead of the real thing.

  • cold isnt the best thing it jsut freezes the burn for a while until it wares off it hurts a lot more warm water is way better i dont care if i get thumbed down its true

  • very true, luke warm is always best for right after a burn.

  • Cold water is better, it stops any burn from worsening plus the analgesic effect. You probably weren't doing it long enough, my Cooking teacher always had us run the burn under cold water for at least five minutes....it hurts like a CIB at 1st, but after 2 mins, it's totally numb.

I got burned by a pizza oven @home and only had it under water for 1 minute, still have a scar, got burned by a griddle over more area and don't have a scar b/c it was under for a full 5min

  • remember that rescue 911 segment with barney and friends music in the background what episode was on i remember that episode on you tube on couple years ago

  • I took that one down because the girl in the segment asked me to.

  • Why You Had To Took It Down?

  • People were making comments saying that the mother was stupid/neglectful (when she wasn't), and her daughter took offense to that and asked me remove it. It was "Speed Dial Burn Save" from Episode 524.

  • you removed the speed dial burn save from 524 oh

  • Why do people have to make hurtful

or stupid remarks like that without any

    thought of someone's feelings?

  • can you ask her for permission to repost it while disabling comments? While I respect her wishes, not having an episode of this show up is doing a great disservice, these clips are more Educational than Entertainment, in my eyes.

My 9th grade health teacher showed a segment from R911...he SHOULD have showed the whole SERIES....just for the educational value

  • Well she also didn't want the segment up because she didn't want people seeing what happened to her. There are two other child scalding segments up (this one being basically the same situation), so I don't think anyone will be missing out on anything to be learned about scaldings.

  • @allgood2000 I can understand her concerns about that incident being on the internet, i'm sure it must've been pretty traumatizing from what i can remember about that episode but if it's possible, could you have it put up as a private video where only certain people who request for it can see it? you can put me down for one! but if you can't then that's okay, i understand i just thought i'd ask.
  • She did that? I guess you did the right thing. I wonder what she's up to this very day.

  • I think that was the episode when the kid accidently stabs his/her brother i think? from running with the knife? i really dont remember

  • Which Episode Was The Barney & Friends Background Music In Rescue 911?

  • Poor kid.

  • Poor EJ I hope he's ok

  • i still dont understand why she would leave tht plugged in right there when she has little kids tht could easily knock that over. thts horrible.

  • @qtpa2tee97 if I were her I would have unplugged it and pulled the cord up out of the way to prevent it from falling

  • my compeuter is sooooooooo slow liek like slower then a...turtle...dead..from...turtlecancer

  • oil/fat is one of the worst things to be burned by

  • @mewrox99 just like fire or water that is over 125*F

  • oops sorry smartasscommentary i ment to click good comment

  • I think that the grandmother should've unplugged that thing, then this would've been avoided.

  • @StefanoFan27 if I were her I would have done that to prevent it from falling on someone

  • 1:24 is when the baby burns

  • yeah the one where the girl accidently put the water like at 150 degrees and put the baby in was sad. his skin was horrible. Good thing he recovered though.

  • I got burned by coca wheats once and my aunt threw me into the tub and filled it with cold water I have no scars thanks to her

  • damn! i forgot how tough kids were back in the days, this kids a soldier, he took that shit like a man, just like the kid that got burned in the tub.

  • was the kid bured in hot cooking oil

  • 1:46 911 reno ...

    reno 911!! :D

  • why does the operator say "9-1-1 we know whats the problem ."

  • they said 911 reno whats the problem XD

  • It sounds like that a lot and thats what I first thought but she is actually saying Rhenna (Her name) and then whats the problem

  • reno.

    where they live prolly

  • That same thing happened to me when I was a baby. Still got a little burning mark on my upper arm. Damn I'm so glad I don't remember any shit from it.

  • aww granny its not your fault

  • A burn from that hot grease was very very painful when it fell on that little kid.

  • I do the cooking in my house and since everyone loves deep fried food, (including tacos) I work with hot grease a lot. But in all of my cooking when I'm done using the grease, the first thing I do is get it off the heat, then place the pan in a secluded area of the kitchen where it can cool down. In her case, that thing should have been unplugged.

  • @EvilSpoofAuthor and when I make enchiladas I do the same thing

  • For one moment, I thought she'd said "cockles for dinner". Lol. I enjoy having them pickled as a snack. But omg, what happens to the kid is awful.

  • Reno is the Biggest Little City in the world.Wasn't there another segment from Reno?

  • Yes, there was one from Reno where a motorcycle cop crashed while trying to pull someone over. I don't have that one complete, though.

  • Why Is That Not Complete?

  • The last minute of that segment got taped over.

  • It's like getting scalded with melted butter.

  • I thought is that part when the mother cooked sausages for breakfast.

  • skillet was plugged the the dog that the toddler chased the dog when under the plug he run over the plug skillet that has the hot oil falls on him.

  • ouch that must be painful but calm down people..the grandma did make a mistake by unpluggin the wire but she didnt know that cud be a deadly mistake

  • Poor child. This was an accident that would not have happened if the mother had not left the skillet plugged in. But I understand why she made this mistake and I don't blame her because it wasn't done on purpose. In addition, I hope the family did not have to replace the outlet that got splashed on with hot grease, because if it had hit something live, it would have shorted something out or caused an electrical fire. Electricity and oil are dangerous combos.

  • im suprised they were told to put ice on him, i was told in my first aid training to never do that?? x

  • I was also badly burned as a child, but nothing close to that severity... fuck!

    I also noticed at 0:58 - 1:02 the oil fryer's empty LULZ

  • Lucky dog..it barely got under it and the dog could have been burned instead of the child

  • dont be judgmental ppl. you already caused the episode "speed dial burn save" to be deleted for calling the mother stupid and careless even though it wasn't her fault

  • you're supposed to turn off these things with plugs out. duhh

  • OMG poor baby! That's one of the worst bunrs a person can get is from hot oil like that! I will never own one of those hot oil cooker things. Wew! Poor baby!

  • OMG! I'm scared to have one of those hot cookers like that with my cat in the house let alone a baby! OMG!

  • Oh no! As soon as they showed the hot oil and the cord, I can see what coming!

  • That dog is really big and cute I wonder what his name is???

  • My mom knew a guy in high school who accidentally poured hot grease all over himself while his parents were away and got burned so bad even his nipples had literally melted off! *shudders*

  • eww!

  • Why wouldn't she have unplugged the skillet when she was done with it?

  • my mum taught me never to touch stuff in the kitchen without her or my dad or my bro being there but yes some pplz are dumb and dont teach there kids anything so they burn themselves and stuff

  • My sister's husband tipped one of those miniature grills on him when he was two or three and he has terrible burn scars going down from his shoulder to his waist

  • Next time you cook food with hot grease, do it in the kitchen.

  • Especially with kids around. People are so dumb

  • that fucking dog!!!

  • Starts at 1:24 to 4:39

  • Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • luckily u didnt call reno 911 (the one on tv)

  • Reno Nevada, That's a Nice Vacation.

  • For example, by the way, the boiling point of water is 212 degrees.

  • Cooking oil?! In that skillet, it had to be close to 200 degrees F. And really any liquids over 125 degrees can burn you. Maybe parents should start teaching their children about household appliances, especially those that produce heat such as stoves, ovens, grills, skillets, and such.

  • Why would the dispatcher tell them to use ice? Ice can cause frostbite if applied to burns. Hell if you google what should be done for burns, everywhere (atleast that I could see) says not to use ice.

  • Really? Then why did they give me an ice pack for when I got a 2nd degree burn on my left hand after setting part of my bed on fire?

  • That happend to me. I screamed like hell In pain.

  • chubby dogggie!

  • Yeah, he is. I thought 'Oh, it's a bulldog, maybe people dont realize that they are supposed to be stocky', but that dog is past the stocky bulldog look! Lol. Could be worse though.

  • "yea we new what to do when he was soaked in oil! we took out a lighter and set em on fire so that he wouldn't be covered in oil" :D lol jk

  • That dog sure is fat lol

  • EJ is such a cutie lol

  • right when i saw that oil on the table i couldnt sit still.... he was just chaseing the doggy@!#!@@

  • lol!!stupid kid!

  • he's two years old, do you expect him to know better?

  • that kid is not stupid you idiot

  • These people who're saying E.J and the Grandmother are stupid are just a bunch of people I like to refer to as Keyboard Cowards. I bet they wouldn't take either person on a guilt or humiliation trip face to face.

BTW, comments like "This person should've known better," "This is incompatent parenting," and all that other crap got a Rescue 911 clip deleted. "Speed-Dile Burn Save" from episode 524.

For god's sake those involved already feel guilty enough! Lay off them!

  • I have Speed Dial Burn Save on tape. I doubt if I will post that segment here but I may post that one on my myspace page once I get the right equipment.

  • @DorvellTStewart what some people don't understand is that you dont become the perfect parent the second you pop out a kid...kids get into crap...everyone knows it...hell i'm the princess of it

  • RENO 911!!! XD

  • o yer, lol

  • i know this has nothing to do with the topic and i feel very sorry for the baby, but reno 911 lol

  • What´s so funny about reno 911?

Sorry, I´m from Europe...so I wouldn`t know, if this is something everybody knows...

  • reno 911 is a funny tv show

  • Poor E.J.I thought he was dead.

  • They should'nt eat those tacos fried.

  • Hot oil is one thing I was ALWAYS warned about. Poor kid!

  • NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

  • These burns were mostly second degree. The grandmother's burns were third degree because she was concerned only about her baby, and she didn't immerse her hands as much. Hot grease is probably the second worst thing to be burned with besides flames. The child who was burned in the bath tub in another episode got burned worse because of longer contact and his burns were not given cold water.

  • This scene was very disturbing to watch. That grandmother should have known that the kid could have tripped over the line cord, when this cord was in the position it was in. I had a similar accident once when cooking bacon. I held a coffee can in one hand, and the skillet in the other. As I was emptying the drippings into the coffee can, I slipped and spilled the grease on my fingers! I sure learned that night that I needed to be more cautious!

  • Very not smart to do that i have a little brother and he likes to run accross the kitchen and i always make sure i put the pot of grease in the back eye of the stove and turn off the power then pour the grease back in its jug later after its cool down

  • people annoy me when they keep saying, "they should of done this, or that"... It already happened and people do make mistakes.. sometimes we don't realize these crucial things until something devastating happens.. like in this circumstance. So stop trying to play the blame game.

  • oh but it a major facter in thing like this

  • Thank you! You're absolutely right.

  • this is just horrible to watch

i feel so sorry for him.

and yes she should have been a little more careful but it was an accident and it was no one's fault.

  • she should know better i would unplug it and dump out the grease and wash the pan and put it back in the cupboard.

  • ok i agree, she should have unplugged it if she was done. however, depending on how soon after the kid ran into the cord, the thing would have still had hot oil in it, unless she cleaned it up completely

  • i see a little carelessne in this one if she have cooked in the kicthen whar she needed to

be cooking the kid wod not have gotin burned

is not fact that the skllit needed to be unplugged it the fact that whar she shoud

    have been useing it.

  • hey hydyudu.... if your going to type can you please type correctly? your grammar is driving me nuts!

  • No one could really predict that something like that would happen. I mean, they were all enjoying tacos, playing, having a good time and then EJ just runs after the dog. It was just such a freak accident. But I'm sure that the grandmother and rest of the family is so much more cautious now. You can't prepare for everything that can happen, but you can be safer, especially about hot oil and water. Little kids don't know any better.

  • ? what thst mean

  • distraught

    scarred

    shocked

  • you people rock you teaching little kid what not to do

  • Why was the skillet plugged in when not in use? When I cook Japanese food I always unplug my skillet when im done using it.

  • why did she leave that thing plugged why did she not put it away or at best cook the food in the kitchen?

  • well, now i want a taco.

    and a bulldog.

  • lol

  • when i read the info about this video i rly waanted 2 c it but i was scared for the child or victim

  • It's a re-enactment done with an actor playing the child, and special effects. It's not a real video of a baby being burned.

  • I wonder if they use seven up for the boiling grease?

  • monster pain XD
