  • I would pay my life savings to buy all of the notebooks she goes through making these videos.

  • She takes doodling to a whole new level....

  • Anyone who's actually interested enough in this video to do this stuff in math is probably smart enough to just do the work.

  • @TuckerWooldridge BUT they are also bored enough to only do the stars ;)

  • @username649100 yeah you can still get them, my sister got on for christmas last year

  • Decades ago, there was a toy called Spirograph. It's probably still available somewhere. Before that, there were yarn/sewing patterns with overlapping straight lines to build curves. Kids had no idea they were learning geometry and derivative calculus. Once you realize the applications, science becomes art.

  • Please. Marry me.

  • ahhh!!!! mah brain hurts!! hey i has the same ruler!!

  • OMG I ACTUALLY DO THIS PRIOR TO WATCHING THIS VIDEO :D :D :D

  • Comment removed

  • My math teacher showed us this video in class :D

  • Have that same black-history month ruler.

    Also nice stars.

  • Personally I favour the cusp epicycloids - one to eight cusps, as beyond that the cusps get ever smaller, & the curves flatter. The curves of the cusps have their own interesting properties, different from true arcs.

  • holy balls why are you so brilliant?

  • i had to re-watch this 5 times to remember everything... you put more info into 4 minutes than most teachers do in an entire class period.

  • 39 people don't count asterisk stars ;)

  • what the fck did i just watch O_O

  • @sybek1996 Something more amazing than you can comprehend.

  • arghhh her voice is soo annoying

  • how the..?

  • I hated math, but you make it sooo much fun!

  • I did lots of this in physics :P which, if you think about it, is a lot like math anyway.

    SO MUCH FUN :D

  • I think my math teacher will notice that I'm doodling when I wipe out a ruler and fill up pages with stars

  • i'm confused, and you draw very well.

  • Honestly i wish math class was like this :D

  • like if your mostly here for the pretty drawings

  • I'm a life long doodler in class and later in life, I love how you take doodling to the next level and then the next level after that. Well done!

  • please tell me you're a nerd fighters

  • I totally did this during math class on my own.

Good to know I'm not the only star-nerd.

  • 240p.... we meet again.

  • Your voice is soothing...weird because you talking fast and usually that would be very annoying but not to me!

  • I have that president ruler!

  • I want that notebook she uses. With all her wonderful doodles in it. :')

  • this is even more work then doing the actually math in math class.

  • @ThomasDoLad That depends on the difficulty level of your math class.

  • @ThomasDoLad : It's all relative; one can do "more" work if it fun, while just a little work doing something dull and boring can feel like a great labor.

You have no idea how difficult it is to persuade reluctant students that math is good and useful. Taking the view that it is less useful and more fun sounds like a good idea.

  • @ThomasDoLad wait until you get to algebra...

  • thats sooooooooooooo gooood

  • She talks way too fast to learn, completely useless for me

  • @Lindalouise333 useless for me too. i'll watch the video and i'll be like......what? because i can't understand her when she talks too fast and there are people that can't follow her at all.

  • I was wondering how something titled "Doodling in Math Class" could have so many views, and now I know. This is so cool, and has just enough math to intrigue my nerd brain without breaking it. :D

  • string art anyone?

  • I went to a math summer camp (yes, such a thing exists), and we did these for half a day. XD It's kinda nice to know that other people think it's as cool as I do. :)

  • I used to do this in my trig class all the time, I have old note book pages full of odd looking stars and Fibonacci sequences

  • I am so confusedddddddddd

  • I am going to assume that you got an

    A+ in math...

  • you mean a spirograph? i used that thing like crazy...making art and music out of math is way more better! yes i said more better.

  • imma try this...whenever i get to highschool...

  • my head hurts

  • ... :o

  • hey! those stars look familiar near the end. i used to draw them using cogwheel thingies with holes punched in a spiral. stick a pencil tip through one of the holes onto a piece of paper, and run the cogwheel in an inverted-cogwheel circle (spikes pointing inwards instead of out).. much less tedious to draw. how many hours do u spend on doodling for the video?

  • Not sure if smart...

Or Vihart... yup, vihart. Jdjusidffduisd... you are too good!

  • Holy shit, marry me.

  • can't. close. tab. and. do. math. homework!!!

  • I feel mindfucked.

  • If I was a math teacher and saw a student doodling all of this...id feel proud

  • I'm not per say a "nerd" but I do enjoy learning and my math teachers seem to be utterly boring. Now that I doodle in my math class aside from my notes and the teacher seems to not care just as long as I understand.. Which I do and if I don't I go on this wonderful website called Khan Academy. ^-^

  • Genial.

  • Now i wanna know what factoring is @_@

  • she is the female sheldon

  • Would you mind teaching my class? I might stay awake.

  • Wut? 0 _ 0

  • i'd really love to see your notebook...

  • Vi - I used to get kicked out of my 8th grade Spanish class for doing exactly this! I would just go to the art classroom and continue drawing stars, especially 12-pointed ones. Later, as a teacher, in my 7th grade classes I called them *(N,Q), optimistically using function notation.

  • Comment removed

  • One interesting point you didn't mention is that if you have an even number of points, P, then the two Q values which add up to P look the same. For example, if P=10, then Q=4 and Q=6 look the same, as do Q=3 and Q=7 or Q=2 and Q=8.

  • What did I just watch?

  • i was watching every single video and i got to this and my volume got muted and i screamed '' I HAVE TO HER HER VOICE WHAT HAPPENEEEEEDDD'' and pee'd alittle.

    c:

  • i have that ruler C:

  • @amandaBroadway101 Funny the font I'm using only shows 5 points... *

  • you're going to discover something, i promise.

  • * There. I made a six pointed star.

  • The star game confuses me. :[

  • i... actualy LEARNED something! u gotta come to mah math class we need u!!

  • usually motormouths are dumb

  • ....but ist your four pointed star technically 8 pointed? ortherwise it would be a square

  • Oh muh lawd!

  • "..and then something starts to bother you...". Just now? Really? XD

  • can i just have your math notebook...?

  • 2:32

"Even the completely degenerate case of a 1¹ -gon."

Why is this so funny to me?

  • I wish you were like my personal tutor, I'm already learning on your videos, I can't imagine in person :D

  • I'm so happy I stumbled on these videos haha its almost exactly what I do in every math class ever. Math is the best

  • I did actually do this in math class for a few days. It was awesome. Those note pages have become infinitely more interesting to look at. xD

  • This Was My Face While I Watched This Video O.O

  • @TRIVALNINJA And mine was 0.O.0!!!

  • @kapikzx Oooh Damh!!!!

  • @TRIVALNINJA Ooh yeah! :D

  • Very wise and interesting when one pays attention... However.

Stop... Take a breath... maybe take a nap.

  • im when in 1/4 way into the vid or half way xD

  • ...YOURE SO MUCH SMARTER THAN ME!!!!!!!

  • Thumbs up if your going to try watching this while high next time

  • @david117724 Dont see the fun in that comment..

  • @RenOniiSan who says comments need to be fun?

  • @Jamatron11 Who said i implied comments in general have to be fun? Beside it wasnt the comment i was talking about, durr.. Try to figure out what i was pointing towards and ill give you some candy for having common sense

  • @david117724 haha i love to watch it when im high she rarely teaches me something new but i love the way she's presenting this shit that I always can't stop watching it

  • @david117724

Thumbs up if you ARE high watching this!

  • Me and my friend tried this game but we couldn't make straight lines or a circle of dots xD still super cool though

  • Why do we have to be YOU? I mean, you're pretty awesome, but can we be Windy or a snake snake snake snake snake snake sometime?

  • It is impossible to take notes

  • I cant hear what you are saying.

  • Thumbs up if you got lost at 0:01

  • my brain just farted..

  • I have ADD, I stopped paying attention after one minute.

  • @sadie2melw Was that one full minute or two half minutes. Maybe three evenly spaced 20 second blocks. If you did it off and on again at a ratio of 3:1 with small divisions you could have made it nearly all the way to end.

  • wut?

  • sick

  • Wow that was alot of words!!!!

  • if you would sit and think for ONE SECOND, you ,,,, would know you;'re good at math!!

  • We MUST show this in schools :D

  • wow very creative

  • trollin math

  • one onegon? seriously?

  • I LOVE MATH and I LOVE EXAM too <3 <3

  • This pretty much sums up what happens in my two-person extension maths class... Clearly a droning teacher is similar to not having one at all...

  • Playing, exploring, and learning math on the way. Awesome!

  • I first watched this around July, I spent pretty much the entire summer drawing stars.. And now people are amazed by my ability to draw 7, 8 and 9 pointed stars. Thank you. :D

  • You're a living spyrograph. Amazing!

  • Am i learning?

  • I think what I just saw was awesome.

  • thank you, now when i will look at stars at night it will remind me im stupid....

  • WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!?

  • wonderful!!!!!! love it.... am a Fan. now i can teach my daughter and have fun together...

  • @kap3pak i dont think your daughters gunna wana spend an hour drawing mathmatical stars

  • *DERP MODE*

  • I for one HAVE left a math class through the window... And shortly crawled back in because the world is much less scary with math.

  • you make my brain hurt =(

  • Brilliant video! Thank you for the education!

  • .... I think i was just tricked into learning math....

  • @izzeay911

either that or tricked into liking it again.

  • ilaughed at this because i didnt understand what you were trying to say becuase i was concentrated on your fast paced drawing and then i realised at the end, it was sped up just to make a point quickly. Also it still continued to confuse me even when it ended so i had to watch it 337,206 times just to still not get it at all.....

  • I showed this in my honors algebra I class today.

They were all confused; I found it amusing XD

  • i would so get caught doing that! (: LOL

  • P/2GONS!

  • genius

  • I should get you a spirograph for Christmas..

  • am i the only one who likes maths?

  • Yeah the teacher won't notice if I pull out my giant protractor and start drawing all over my page during math class!

  • @3cheesed Ya cause that protractor is soooo giant. And protractors stand out soooo much in math class

  • @JGeiger15

They do when you're supposed to be writing words and talking about factoring.

  • I LOVE YOU! MARRY ME!!

  • The really complex stars at the end remind me of black holes...

  • i know what i'll be doing tommorrow in math class

  • Dammit I.....learned.

  • i feel like doodling stars now.

  • 6 pointed star can be made with 1 stroke, I did this same thing and went up to I think 50 point star on a single stroke, not easy to do but possible

  • @pinksparkles121 it's from Skyrim

  • I wish you were my maths teacher :3 I get maths when you explain it :)

  • You think way too fast than could be considered normal.

  • I used to draw these, but with a spiragraph.

  • I dont get any of this,. but this is hypnotic to watch! :) Brilliant!

  • And I'm pretty sure this took you longer than how long math class is.

  • Slow the fuck down.

  • i dont get the arrow to the knee thing :/

  • @pinksparkles102 It's a skyrim thing.

  • if you promise me that every video will be this interesting, i will sub

  • I used to be smart like you, than I discovered everything could be solved with a arrow to the knee.

  • huh?

  • polygon Pi * 8 my favourite octagon ^ ^

  • i cant decide if it was a girls or a boys voice

  • F*ck, I understood everything. I am beyond nerdy xD

  • @nightmaredude456 No you didn't If you understood it, then you would know its simple enough so that understanding it is nothing to be proud of.

  • Ummmmmm O_O.............. ok then

  • what?

  • You. Talk. Too. Fast.

  • Comment removed

  • @and1dodger , you got me.

  • O_O

    Pick a number... Q.

  • @steamsword1 She means pick a number representing q. The numbers name is q

  • Sheit! i love you
