hi,im 14 years old and im planning on buying that rc plane. whats your opinion about it :do you think it s too hard for me to fly it (i have no experience in rc planes) or would you reccomend me another plane? thanks
Hey dude! Yeah, this is a great plane for beginners, like me. I would get one of those Esky sims from eBay first, and do a lot of hours on that before even starting a nitro plane. I would start with brushless electric first though. Even easier to fly.
lose that stupid music if you really want any help from your problems. i didnt see any antenna exiting the airplane either by the way...where was it? coiled up inside?
It is fucked up if that was the case. I never proved it but when you have another plane and someone elses helicopter almost doing the same thing, you gotta wonder. Nah, not repaired yet. I got into boating since then and haven't had much time for the planes but I still have it and been itching to get back in to it. One day.
Wow, same thing happened to me with about equal damage to a aerostar 50 (Old transmitter battery, corroded through the wires while I was flying). Never even considered repairing it, maybe sometime i will just for fun. Ever fix the Zlin Z-50? How do those fly?
Yeah, you should at least have a go at repairing it as long as it doesnt cost more than a new one of course. I didn't fix the Zlin for that reason, and because it's such a beautiful plane new, I just bought another one. I haven't finished it yet due to other toys but the last one was very fun to fly. A lot harder to fly than this trainer but much more impressive to watch. Good luck with your Aerostar.
i said all the people that have something shitty to say should be deleted and blocked. i have learned that rc flying takes learning, crashing, repair and practice.i f--ken crash the firebird all the time . but i am getting better all the time. dont stop and keep flying
Thank you!! Like I said in previous replies, if I crash because I've done something wrong, I'll be the first to admit it. I mean, I even did a pretty distant radio check and my transmitter was on set on low power.
Crashing a rebuilding is half the fun of this hobby, isn't it. I mean it gives you the opportunity to rebuid your machine better.
Anyways, I guess you will always get people critising rather than adding helpful tips. They get off on it or something.
not everyone in the rc sport are bad and if you join a cub they might be able to help you get a 2.4ghz dx6i controller and you would be good as gold something you can have a radio glitch which may have helped u to crash but your always going to crash at some point in time have fun and think about join a club they will help you alot better luck next time hope you could fix it have fun

G'day Dan
Speaking as a "R/C plane nerd" I think if you were not a pig headed ignoranmous as you would appear to be, you would see some merrit in the experience of others,
its cheaper to learn from the errors of others, however if you want to do it the hard way, and have plane after plane take a dirt bath by all means continue,Why not get your radio gear checked, then you will know whether its radio dramas or just shithouse flying.
Just wondering . why not join a club? you wont frequency problems.
a couple of pointers, restrain the model when starting,it wont never reach over a turning propellor, a severe wrist injury may result
range check radio prior to flight, get your radio band width tested. , looks like you fly at a local sports field, I hope you have a public liability insurance policy, ,insurance cover is a part of club membership, join a club enjoy flying safely
Hey I had the exact same prob today w/ my Skyartec Cessna. Flew at nearly 200 feat for 10 min, then when I came in to land, it does a barrel roll into the ground. I blame power lines or the fact that I'm near an airport. What do you think, Borat?(ha ha I have a nasty sense of humor too!)
The barrel roll into the ground, was probably the result of "dumb thumbs" ie an incorrect in put, as the controls are seemingly reversed when flying towards your self.
its well documented that powerlines have no effect on r/c planes, other than if you are stupid enough to fly into them, as for flying near an airport? what sort of imbicile flys near an airport (illegal in most states & stupid as models have to yield to General aviation you know the big planes people sit in)
Actually I now believe my problem was not coming in for landing into the wind. I have never had problems with incorrect inputs. Just incorrect landing direction! Oh and by 'near an airport' I meant it was within a mile, not right next to it. I have learned to fly pretty well now, thanks!
no way the 2.4ghz scrambles when someone comes onto there freq looks like bad flying alot of people who crash say they got knocked down because they dont want to look stupid lol no way a 2.4ghz can knock you down
Thanks man. Yeah, I don't know absolutely but it sure seemed that way. 2 planes, two different radios: 1 on 35mhz and the other on 2.4ghz, two different areas of the field. It is suspect. Thanks for your comment anyways
2.4ghz is a big plane safety

@emoore1978
Mate, I agree, any sort of background music behind rc plane vids are crap, but everyone has their own taste in music. What do you listen to?
I don't remember asking for any help with my RC issues anyway.
For the record, the antenna exits the plane and runs down the top of the fuselage.

luckily that´s repairable...

Ive got a Spektrum DX7 and it's litterally impossible to interfere it's 4 channel it would work well for that plane
balls2yourface 1 year ago
this is the best plane ! i love it so much ! radio loss is always due to pilot error ! its a lie
kagoshimadavid 1 year ago
what did he do ... use b&q paint colour samples for the design ... ... thats some sweet landing .. do your donald..lol
sprigs08 1 year ago
By the looks of it, your radio seems a bit bad, the 2.4 will greatly reduce the chances of interferance and it is harder to jam than 35/72mhz
vanepico 2 years ago
That is why 2.4ghz is around!

i has the smaller 25 size seagull trainer. Ive never got radio interference, i use 8 channel hitec dual conversion receiver and a hitec radio

Time for a 2.4ghz radio. You can get the Spektrum 5 channel for about $100.

i just love how a case of dumbbbbbbbbbbbbthumbs allways turns out to be radio problems,,,at least thats what the dumbthumber claims
norm53 3 years ago
Watch the video again you moron. If you REALLY think thats a 'dumb thumbs' error, then you need your eyes checked.
Id be the first one to put my hand up if I fucked up a flight and I have done so, many a time, in the past.
Thats the problem with you fucking RC plane nerds. All you can dish out is critisism and its not even constructive.
Classic example of why I'd be fucked if I'd ever join a club. Full of 'know-it-all' wankers, such as yourself.
Thanks for your comment, toolbox.

Umm, yeah, o k.... I'll do you a deal. We'll improve our video's if you get some lessons in grammer. Here's what you should have said:
"Try to get some video camera lessons. Keep it still. It's bloody easy to do. My camera shots are still as.... (as fuck maybe). Good clip. Well done."
There you go. See! Its 'easy to do'. Anyway, that lesson was on the house.
Message me first if you wanna leave anyone else a comment before you post it mate. hehe
just kidding. Cheers for the comment.

The engine didn't look too bad actually. I havent tried to fire it up since though. The fuse is pretty bad but repairable.
