Anyone may argue as much as he want that have or not USSR or USA the purpose of global control. But I consider, that the USSR (Russia) is guided by defence reasons in all its history. There is very simple explanation. Russia has all it need. Huge territory, one of first places of stocks of minerals, water, forest.
But USA which consume almost 50% of world resourses with 6% of world population cannot provide itself.
