News channels have never been about the news. Even in the days of Mark Twaine, he said if you do not read the news you are uninformed, and if you do read the news you are missinformed. Every station is owned by someone, and what "news" you get is directly affected by the owners opinions, and desires period. To be clear though Fox is by far the worst group in our history. It makes sense for them to alter photos, and video, when they have already been altering fact for so long, why not?

I didn't say they photoshopped pictures. I said they lack journalistic ettiquete. I searched for CNN flubs/screw ups (and I don't just mean the anchor picked their nose or something) and I found plenty. But you actually have to look, rather than have Media Matters spoonfeed you everything. Try it sometime. And don't assume everyone who watches Fox is an idiot. I don't assume the same about CNN viewers, although there are plenty of idiots who watch that too. Don't generalize.

Altering pictures like that is the exact same thing that the Nazis did to pictures of Jewish people in the beginning of the Holocaust. And oddly enough, one of the guys they did that to was Jewish, and they made his nose bigger, exactly like the Nazi's. Just goes to show you that Fox gets their "journalistic" ideas from Nazis...

The issue is that Fox News ran altered pictures of people without mentioning that they had been altered. In journalism YOU DON'T SHOW ALTERED PICTURES WITHOUT MENTIONING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN ALTERED (unless it's pretty damn obvious that they have been changed, e.g, Steinberg's head on the poodle).

It's a breach of trust between the viewer and the news provider. In the real news world people lose their jobs and credibility over doctored photos. But this is FOX "NEWS", so nothing will happen.
