They were definitely on - it's probably the pick-up from the camera - I use a Fuji Finepix S5500 digital camera. Haven't got a camcorder. Also, Richard's head gets in the way at times (must tell him to get his priorities right and stay out of my way, LOL), or the view gets blocked by the compass. Remember, I'm sitting in the rear-facing seat behind the pilot while I'm doing this :-)
Haha yeah I thought that was probably the case. :) And you tell that Richard that the priorities are: Camera work, aviate, navigate, communicate. But you do a pretty good job of holding the camera steady in such an awkward seating position lol.
I've tried resting the camera on the P1 or P2 headrest, but that just leads to terrible vibration. It's easier and the results are better, as bad as some of them are, if I hold it free-hand.
Nice black hole landing. Were the landing lights on? Maybe they just dont show up very well on the video.
