Man, I still don't have a Raging Bull! I've watched this video several times...and have had the RB at the top of my list for some time. I've got to get this gun. The thing is, there's never one at my local shop...and I always find something else to satisfy me for the moment. This year, though...THIS YEAR!!! (thanks again for sharing.)
@DIMA55333 Dude! a .50 is much more powerful! It's not a gun you ever want to use in self-defense. A .50 is for hunting bear and moose or else on a battlefield. However, for just the joy of shooting the most powerful handgun in the world, go for it!
@vastconsciousness No, not at all. A .44 magnum round is extremely powerful with tremendous force of more than 40,000 psi from a huge amount of powder. No way those port channels can vent any gas before the slug passes them anyway. Remember, the high pressure hot gasses cannnot be relieved until the slug passes through. Therefore, a ported gun is just as powerful as one without.
Just a quick question, I have been thinking about getting a .44 magnum for hunting. Anything from deer to elk to black bear. I cant decide which revolver to get. Either the model 44 or a Raging Bull .44. I like the looks of the Model 44 a lot more and its a little cheaper than the Raging Bull but i want the better hunting revolver. Accuracy and durability is all im really worried about. Which do you think will be the better hunting revolver? Thanks
@xxxxRandomHeroxxxx My .44 Mag Raging Bull is made for hunting and I would recommend it highly. However, I'm about to get a S&W 500 which is really made for hunting big game.
@kakasanti OMG! The most anti-gun bull dyke lesbo on Earth! Man, the thought of that ugly mug charging at me is almost as fearsome as having her sit on my face! Arrrggggggggg!
@sharpshooter7100 So far, so good. However, remember, Taurus is kind of a less expensive alternative to let's say, a Smith & Wesson. But no failures thus far.
lemme ask can the safety lock located by the barrel besides the one thumb puched be removed at all? that extra lock by the barrel may provide strength but can be kinda annoying so can it be removed at all and if it can will it decrease structural integrity when firing?
@youchris67 man im used to the old school thumb release, i think it's an easier more convenient fix all in all, if u dont mind, next time u admire your gun can u please check out and see if it can be removed/disabled anything at all thats of course if u havent done so :)
@Miguelsr1rst I sure will, dude. However, next time your visit your local gun shop and you see a T.R.B. in the display case, aske the dealer what does he think. I don't have very much gunsmithing skills--especially with handguns. They're more complicated than a rifle!
@RichardLongrod Oh, Lord! Hell no! I'm a dude with a dick. That was a miss step step of the tongue when I said that. What I meant was if any chicks are watching, this video is for them too.
pretty sure u ment 25 and 75 feet, cuz if u were shooting a handgun at 75 yrs ud b an expert shooter... that almost the distance of a football field in length..
@CycloneReaper45 Thanks, Man! Yes, that is a glaring mistake in my video. I did mean 25 and 75 feet. But, hey! I'm still a good shot! I can place many rounds into the center of mass on my targets at those true distances! :-)
Thanks man! I was just at the NRA sponsored "America's Gun Show in Chantilly, Virginia. They had plenty of Taurus models of all kinds. Try to pick yours up at a gunshow. I knocked of about $80.00 bucks off the Baretta 92 I bought last year at a gunshow here in Maryland. By the Way, you'll love the .44 Mag Taurus. Shoots great. Check out my posted vid of me shooting it. Video is very brief.
Gotta question, Chris. I've always believed a revolver is best for home protection because you can allow the rounds to sit in the chamber, virtually forever with no problems.
It's probably not a good thing, insofar an semi automatic goes, to allow rounds to stay loaded up in a clip for too long because the clip spring mechanism might become fatigued.
Am I right on this? Is it possible for a clip to stay loaded too long, its spring weakens and perhaps jamming is in its future? Thanks
A rovolver is a far superior choice for long-term on the ready home defense because you can leave a rovolver with its chambers loaded forever and still expect it to be able to fire all of its rounds. However, a semi-auto pistol can indeed have the spring mechanism of its amo clip weaken and not feed, and the feed lips "creep" out of alignment due to the constant pressure from the amo being held in tight compression. In addition, rolvolvers will not jam! Semi-autos can and will jam!
Chris, what you can do is purchase .44 special, hydroshock bullets for home protection. Minimum penetration, maximum spread, superior knock down. Very safe round for the people whom live around you.
Thanks, Man! Great advice. Yeah, I would hate to accidently shoot through three houses with a .44 Mag round seeing that I live in a townhouse community. However, we've seen a drop in crime here with our Citizens on Patrol (COP) and private security--as well as residents who have said no to gansta' shit in this upscale community! We watch, observe, report, snitch and shoot back! Fuck all gangs! We refuse to live in fear! Also, we have police and Federal Agents living here. :-)
i have the same gun only 8,3.8",, iload reloads and u shoot the .44 magnum rounds and atleast 240 grn. bullets youll, notice a difference in cocushion, and power,i love mine very controllable recoil comfortable and very very accurite, congrats on beaing a second amendment advocate true american, god bless!
Cool, Man! I want a S&W 500 Mag! Going to get one soon, but I'm looking to get an Assault Shotgun and an AK 47 first. I'm also looking to get a class 3 full-auto MP5 too!
Dude, I am black. Sorry, but it's the Masters Degree level education and six-figure income that makes me not sound like a ghetto thug, but with my Raging Bull, I'm an equal opportunity killer. Whomever breaks into my house will simply get killed in the process. Oh, and I always wear goggles when I shoot--except I may not have time to reach for them when I blow the fucking head off a criminal in my house!
@youchris67 dude thats a sweet gun :) i used to have a blued raging bull in .454 casull it was fantastic! i had to sell it when money got tight. im looking to get another raging bull probably in 44 magnum this time :)
I just came back from the range tonight having fired my Raging Bull in the 44 mag 6.5" SS for the first time. It's just like you said... "Wow!" I read where one reviewer somewhere said the web of his hand was bruised the next day. I can't imagine mine doing that, the RB is total revolver bliss! Accuracy was so tite, I didn't adjust anything. Ppl disregard all the naysayers of the Taurus Raging Bull, do yourself a favor and get one, they're just jealous with good reason.
You shouldnt snap the cylinder closed that way. I hear it ruins the timing after a while, and it could result in a misaligned shot. Its better to close it by hand, rather than flipping it shut.
Thanks for the advice man. Another viewer told me the same thing and I also read that it's bad to snap the cylinder closed like that. I have only done that two or three times and have learned my lesson from all the criticism. Yes, I agree, firearms are working machines that are prone to damage from mishandling. No more of that Hollywood flicking the rovolver closed shit!
My state of Maryland does issue CCP's; however they are very hard for the average person to get without what the Maryland State Police will say is a "valid reason". and will not just give them out because you want one. Professionals that are fast tracked a CCP are off-duty prison guards, jewelers, business owners who carry lots of cash, doctors, and lawyers. Also, persons who's lives are in immediate danger such as someone receiving death threats and has already been documented to be a victim.
I'm not too big on reloaded amo. Too unpredictable in terms of quality and safety. It also tends to be very dirty amo. Yes, the good stuff is very expensive. However, how much value do you place on your weapon and indeed your very life? That cheap reload crap can explode!
My RB is still new in the box waiting to fire a box of Blazer jhp cci 240gr. Ppl are commenting to reload. How do you feel about that as the card for registering says only to fire commercial approved ammo or void the lifetime warranty? Btw yes it's one heckuva good lookin revolver!
Nice gun. You'll enjoy that one for years to come! I just bought a Taurus M448SS and can't wait to give it a steady diet. The Taurus line has made great strides, and they're much more desirable than they ever were. Have fun!
@legroll Thanks, Man! I love shooting this baby. It's powerful and very accurate! .44 Mag rounds are awesome. The muzzle compensator does a pretty good job of reducing muzzle climb. I love her!
Hey genius!!! You can't comment on the recoil properly when you only shot .44 Specials through it !!!! The Specials only have about half the muzzle energy. I have the same gun. Shoot magnums through it and then and then open your mouth with intelligent comments about the firearm!!!
@nosaj762 Dude! What is your fucking trip leaving me these hostile ass comments?! You're the one with the brain disorder with not finding better ways to critique my comments on the weapon. I just got the gun at that time and have since shot .44 Mags through it. The recoil is stronger than the .44 Specials, but the muzzle compensator does help. So go drink back some more six packs in your double wide back at the trailer park and pick up that GED book. Make your no tooth bitch proud for a change.
And also, thanks again for the review. it helps me to see the weapon up close and hear about it before I order one. I have been carrying a .44 spl off duty for a while. But my family is buying a considerable amount of land where we know there are bears. I sure don't wanna hurt one unless I have to for his sake and especially mine, but I want to be prepared. On another note, I am moving to DC soon. I might hit you up to show me around at local ranges and explain the pinko gun laws to me
thanks for the wonderful and concise review. weapons with any kind of muzzle gas deflection system are indeed much louder to people that are in the direction the ports are venting. I warn you, there is a HUGE difference between .44 spl and mag. .44 spl has roughly the same ballistics of a .45acp of the same bullet weight. .44 mag is a completely different animal, the case being 1/8" longer makes for a hell of a lot more powder and heavier bullets as well
It is a considerable jump from .45 semi-auto to .44 Mag. The Recoil is awesome, but very easy to get used to. Shooting a .45 is a good way to prep for the recoil of more powerful rounds like the .44 Mag.
Thank you, Sir. I have been warned by others not to flick my cylinder closed like that anymore. But its so fucking cool to do! LOL!!! However, I love my Raging Bull! I fired magnum bullets from it in the indoor range for the first time. Damn that shot was loud! I had other shooters come out of their stalls to see what the fuck I was firing! :-)
thats really cool. i love that raging bull. Just a tip if you flick the cylinder closed you can fuck up the locking mechanism so be careful hollywood. haha.
Im waiting to pay off my raging bull in .44 I have on layaway at my local gun dealer. If youre building up to a .454, might I suggest waiting on the Raging Judge set for release by the end of this year? I haven't gotten an msrp yet.
I just started getting into shooting guns myself and it is a bunch of fun. Iv been to Continental Arms off of Deerco Rd a handful of times and its a nice place, but i hate shooting there in the winter because its so cold inside LOL
Awesome weapon man. I really want a 44 raging bull with the 8 3/4 inch barrel, I just don't have the funds yet, but hopefully I can get one sometime soon.
Man you said it! I can't wait to get my raging bull. I want the 8 3/4 inch barrel too, custom fitted with a tactical rail, 8 round cylinder, and crimson trace laser.
Waz' up HiCapacity. Thanks for the complements on my Raging Bull. I love the Gun--especially since I'm now firing true .44 Magnum rounds through it. What power. However, my satisfaction needs are being ramped even higher in that I am now workink up to a 454 Casull! Oh, Yeah!
that was a slip of the tongue! I am a macho heterosexual male! Remember, youtube is for amature broadcasters to share our views and opinions. What I meant was that even women can enjoy the Taurus Raging Bull .44 mag. This is embarrassing, I will admit, but I'll leave it on here for all to laugh at and enjoy.
Its funny, some people even claim that the Raging Bull grip is even bettter than the Hogue or Pachmytr grips are. Its pretty cool, can't wait to feel it myself.
The grip on the Taurus Ranging Bull .44 magnum is just fine for shooting left handed or right. The grip feels really good without having to put an aftermarket grip such as a Hogue on it.
ask as many questions as you want. Anyway, on the Raging Bull's size, all I can say is that the grip is no thicker than any conventional semiauto. For example, my HK 45's grip is no thicker. Right now, I'm hodling my Baretta 90-two next to my Taurus and again, the grip is no thicker. Your hand should fit around it without any problems; however, the frame and barrow on the Raging bull look and feel big and heavy, but I love that! The gun feels great in my hands--like a woman!
Sorry to keep bugging you, but how big is the gun exactly?? Like is there any way you can describe it using comparasions to common items or something?? I know its a loaded question, but Im concerned because I'm 5'9" and my hands aren't especially large, and the grip looks THICK.
Oh that's wierd. I thought you said in your other vid that this was a gun you waited a long tiem for and took that to mean you ordered it and had to wait. You're very lucky man. I will have to wait months for my order to arrive at the dealer...
Very sweet gun. I own a Smith and Wesson 629 Classic "Power Ported" version and the port does help reduce recoil. 44 specials are not that powerful and can be used for home defense in a gun of this size. I use hollow point 200 grain rounds and they have almost no recoil with the gun.
Thanks, evenflow80! Hey, dude: I am a neat freak--especially when it comes to my cherished material possessions. Therefore, you better believe that I keep all of my guns very clean. I cleaned the Taurus as soon as I got it home from the range with my quality cleaning kit. Thanks for the advice on using the shorter rounds. I did not know that shorter rounds could cause those problems. However, now that I'm used to the Raging Bull .44 magnum--I will now only use .44 Magnum rounds.
Hmm, let me know how taht cleaning kit works out for you, and if you like it, the brand name. I need to get one too, even for my Ruger .357, since I do shoot .38 specials in that occassionally. Good luck with the magnum rounds, let me know how the recoil is on that if you get a chance!
I've just read a lot of stories about guns literally malfunctioning if not cleaned properly after shooting shorter bullets (i.e .38 Specials in .357 and more importantly .44 Specials in .44 Mag), so seeing how you love your gun I would buy a cleaning kit (not that expensive), I plan to do the same and wanted to pass along what I learned from more experienced people. Anyways, congrats again, have fun, and looking forward to more of your vids!
Congrats man! Glad you liked it. I too agree that you did the right thing by starting off with .44 Specials, just to get a feel for the gun. I plan to do the same when my Raging Bull arrives (whever THAT may be). I've been told that if you use .44 Specials in a .44 Mag gun though, you MUST, repeat, MUST clean the barrel and chamber THOROUGHLY after each shooting session. ESPECIALLY if you shoot Mag loads afterwards. The area of most concern is where chamber right before the barrel entrance.
ok no to be a dick but i would like to clearify a small difference between .44spc & .44mag. when handloading your ammo for this youll see. 44. spc uses 6.5 gr of unique, with CCI large pistol primer, 240 gr XTP. .44mag, 6.5 gr unique, CCI magnum large pistol primer, 240 gr XTP. the difference here is the primer and the amount of air space in the casing. now with the mag you can load them hotter, and this isnt an issue with this taurus, or some rugers. in general i dont recomend squib loads.

Hey genius!!! You can't comment on the recoil properly when you only shot .44 Specials through it !!!! The Specials only have about half the muzzle energy. I have the same gun. Shoot magnums through it and then and then open your mouth with intelligent comments about the firearm!!!
nosaj762 1 year ago

I might hit you up to show me around at local ranges and explain the pinko gun laws to me
AlienZygote010 1 year ago
thanks for the wonderful and concise review. weapons with any kind of muzzle gas deflection system are indeed much louder to people that are in the direction the ports are venting. I warn you, there is a HUGE difference between .44 spl and mag. .44 spl has roughly the same ballistics of a .45acp of the same bullet weight. .44 mag is a completely different animal, the case being 1/8" longer makes for a hell of a lot more powder and heavier bullets as well

I wonder how long it would take to get used to a jump from a Colt .45 to a .44 Magnum.
Angelsweep 1 year ago
@Angelsweep

youchris67 1 year ago
thats really cool. i love that raging bull.

I really want a 44 raging bull with the 8 3/4 inch barrel, I just don't have the funds yet, but hopefully I can get one sometime soon.
beneaththefallen 2 years ago
Man you said it! I can't wait to get my raging bull. I want the 8 3/4 inch barrel too, custom fitted with a tactical rail, 8 round cylinder, and crimson trace laser.
Gotta love Taurus.......

Waz' up HiCapacity. Thanks for the complements on my Raging Bull. I love the Gun--especially since I'm now firing true .44 Magnum rounds through it. What power. However, my satisfaction needs are being ramped even higher in that I am now workink up to a 454 Casull! Oh, Yeah!

@youchris67 why stop there! get the S&W 500!!! :P

Nice piece man, you still live in Baltimore? I'm in Maryland myself.

The .44SPL rounds do nto compare to the feel of shooting real .44 Magnum ammo.

Hey, 83scarface:
that was a slip of the tongue! I am a macho heterosexual male! Remember, youtube is for amature broadcasters to share our views and opinions. What I meant was that even women can enjoy the Taurus Raging Bull .44 mag. This is embarrassing, I will admit, but I'll leave it on here for all to laugh at and enjoy.

any female gun lovers like myself...lamo
but nice review

Its funny, some people even claim that the Raging Bull grip is even bettter than the Hogue or Pachmytr grips are. Its pretty cool, can't wait to feel it myself.
evenflow80 2 years ago
The grip on the Taurus Ranging Bull .44 magnum is just fine for shooting left handed or right. The grip feels really good without having to put an aftermarket grip such as a Hogue on it.
youchris67 2 years ago
Is the grip on it ambidextrous?
mudbone80 2 years ago
Hey, Evenflow80:
ask as many questions as you want. The gun feels great in my hands--like a woman!
youchris67 2 years ago
Sorry to keep bugging you, but how big is the gun exactly?? Like is there any way you can describe it using comparasions to common items or something?? I know its a loaded question, but Im concerned because I'm 5'9" and my hands aren't especially large, and the grip looks THICK.
evenflow80 2 years ago
I purchased my Raging Bull as soon as I saw it in the display case of my favorite local gun store. It was already there! Did not have to order it.
youchris67 2 years ago
Oh that's wierd. I thought you said in your other vid that this was a gun you waited a long tiem for and took that to mean you ordered it and had to wait. You're very lucky man. I will have to wait months for my order to arrive at the dealer...
evenflow80 2 years ago
Very sweet gun. I own a Smith and Wesson 629 Classic "Power Ported" version and the port does help reduce recoil. 44 specials are not that powerful and can be used for home defense in a gun of this size. I use hollow point 200 grain rounds and they have almost no recoil with the gun.
traingp7 2 years ago
Hey forgot to ask you a very, very important question: when did you order your gun and when did you get it? Like how long?
evenflow80 2 years ago
Thanks, evenflow80! Hey, dude: I am a neat freak--especially when it comes to my cherished material possessions. Therefore, you better believe that I keep all of my guns very clean. I cleaned the Taurus as soon as I got it home from the range with my quality cleaning kit. Thanks for the advice on using the shorter rounds. I did not know that shorter rounds could cause those problems. However, now that I'm used to the Raging Bull .44 magnum--I will now only use .44 Magnum rounds.
youchris67 2 years ago
Hmm, let me know how taht cleaning kit works out for you, and if you like it, the brand name. I need to get one too, even for my Ruger .357, since I do shoot .38 specials in that occassionally. Good luck with the magnum rounds, let me know how the recoil is on that if you get a chance!
evenflow80 2 years ago
I've just read a lot of stories about guns literally malfunctioning if not cleaned properly after shooting shorter bullets (i.e .38 Specials in .357 and more importantly .44 Specials in .44 Mag), so seeing how you love your gun I would buy a cleaning kit (not that expensive), I plan to do the same and wanted to pass along what I learned from more experienced people. Anyways, congrats again, have fun, and looking forward to more of your vids!
evenflow80 2 years ago
Congrats man! Glad you liked it. I too agree that you did the right thing by starting off with .44 Specials, just to get a feel for the gun. I plan to do the same when my Raging Bull arrives (whever THAT may be). I've been told that if you use .44 Specials in a .44 Mag gun though, you MUST, repeat, MUST clean the barrel and chamber THOROUGHLY after each shooting session. ESPECIALLY if you shoot Mag loads afterwards. The area of most concern is where chamber right before the barrel entrance.

nice very nice...hope to see u shoot it soon
