  • @scare215crow lolololololhahahahahaha!!!!! I just went thru ur favorites! U r clearly a little faggot wannabe ricer! Ur prob 16 and only own that one, busted ass "BI-tone" (not 2-tone bitch) XD. Thanks for the laugh kid. Have fun in ur dillusional, XD FANBOY FAGGOT world, tryin to make that inferior XD seem better than a Glock. Hahahaha, grow up son.

  • @eric97402 WOW you guys are passionate. I agree that 1500 rounds is not a lot but that's relative. Most people will never put that much ammo through their guns. Most barely shoot and even less actually train. I also Don't agree that XD/XDm are "the" best but if you gave me one before a firefight I'd make it run with complete confidence. "Better" & "best" are questions of subjective opinion and personal attacks or insults won't change that. If you're so grown then act like an adult.

  • And 1500 rounds is nothing u fucking AMETUER! I own 13 guns! Ur XD is a mistake that you won't admit. You know Glock is simply BETTER than XD. I bet u just can't wrap your little baby girl hands around the Glock, that's why u need ur novice XD. U got reeled in with their shitty accessory package.. Idiot! You fail at life, you fail at gun choices and anyone who reads your comment below agrees that you're one load that your mom should've taken in her fat ass or her whore mouth!

  • @ scare215crow Do you even hear yourself u little confused bitch!? You prove that all u are is an IGNORANT, little noobass wannabe gun owner. You comment about Glock failing more than your piece of shot XD holds no merit (type in 'glock flaw' then type in 'XD flaw' -point proven.) Any you're obviously new to owning guns or else you wouldn't blatantly lie about knowing cops who would prefer XDs.

  • @eric97402 I know cops who prefer XD's. But their opinions doesn't make or curse a gun to me. Cops are poor shooters in general and I don't go to them for weapon selection advice. Especially this new generation which carries guns mandated by the PD's legal department and which chooses guns based more on cost than anything else.

  • wipe your shit down son!

  • That is CRAZY! You made me grab my XD to check the condition. It's carry weapon and hasn't been wiped down in months, but it's still good to go (Knock on wood). I read somewhere that the older models (manufactured prior to 2006), were more prone to rusting. Personally I love the XD line and am looking forward to buying the XDM 3.8 45cal later this month.

  • @callmetw The early models did have issues. Also keep in mind I am in Vegas where it is normally dry but we actually had some humidity the week prior to my discovery. There are a million variables in this kinds of stuff. Either way congrats on the 3.8, I am sure you can't wait.

  • When I store a firearm I never leave it in a case because in a humid climate it may rust. I put them in the safe and have a SAFE DRI oven rechargeable moisture controller in the safe and the safe does not contact an outside wall where it may become cool enough to cause condensation inside. If you use a swamp cooler for AC you need to be extra careful too. As you found out it's impossible to hurt a Glock but some of my old fine pistols and shotguns will rust. Sorry to hear of your loss. God bless

  • @mpg827 Hey thx for commenting. I enjoy your vids and am so jealous of the new 1911. I'm still thinking about getting one. We'll see, Shoot safe!!!

  • WHO WOULD WANT A PIECE OF SHIT XD? I HAD ONE AND IT EVENTUALLY GAINED THE NICKNAME "JAM MASTER" AND IT RUSTED HORRIBLY! XD TRIED TO COPY THE GLOCK BUT FAILED MISERABLY! THEY DON'T COME CLOSE, I DON'T SEE S.A.'s SHITTY XDs ON ANY COPS BELT, IN ANY COMBAT, IN ANY SERIOUS GUN OWNERS COLLECTION OR BEING PUT INTO USE BY PEACEKEEPERS ALL OVER THE PLANET. FUCK ALL YOU XD FANBOY FAGGOTS! YOU KNOW U WASTED YOUR $480 AND THATS WHY YOU TRY TO DEFEND YOUR SHIT-HOLE XD PISTOLS. FUCK U AND FUCK UR LIFE BITCH!

  • @eric97402 Damn, you take this shit too seriously. I know my XD jammed more often than I'd liked but my uncle's XD never jammed. My Glocks have never jammed. None of them however I don't think people can't trust their lives to an XD. They just have to shoot it a lot before carrying it to find out its preference of ammo and to ensure its reliability. XD is probably not the best "only" gun but if you have a collection I see no harm in buying one. It ain't the worse you can do.

  • @eric97402 As for the reason its not in LE holsters, I think that's because they don't do anything better than the competition. The gap is to close to the prior offerings that it wouldn't make sense to change over. Consider what the M&P has done due to its substantial gap between it and Glock. Still many police departments allow XDs to be used by their officers. As for militaries Croatia uses the HS2000. But they are made in Croatia. lol

  • @eric97402 your fucking crazy!!!! xd and xdm line of firearms are the fucking best! mine is the XDm 45 ACP 3.8 COMPACT...2-TONE!!!...AND IT IS GREAT! plus i know a lot of ppl. who put more than 1500 rounds through it,and not ONE jamm!...FUCKERR!!! i KNOW police officers who OWN a XDm & would peffer to carry a xdm than there glocks!!! YOU LIL SHIT STAIN!!! youtube glock jams and glock fails, more than 10,000 vids!!!! youtube xdm fails nomore than 10,go play wit your gun if you have one!?

  • damn I have 2 xd's I always clean them and make sure it dont do that. that sucks dude I know you was pissed.

  • Getting a G26

  • Where did you get black XD mags

  • @INMY01TA They are made by Mecgar and have higher capacity than XD factory mags. 100% reliable for me!!!

  • Take care of your weapon. Be careful where you store it

  • Try Ballistol for your guns. It's great stuff.

  • sorry to hear about your xd!...but you should always put those moisture removers in your bag...

  • Dumbass ppl learn shit the hard way...smart ppl learn from other ppls mistakes. thanks for the knowledge

  • Had to be the bag. I have an older XD9 (going on 7 years old) and I've never had rust on it and I don't clean it as often as I should. I keep my gun in a gun safe while I'm in the house. If it's not in the safe then it's on me.

  • Shouldn't have stored it in that case. Cases like that are meant for transport, not storage. The padding and the material of the case can attract moisture.

  • @Paulmarti You're right. That's the conclusion I came to. With that said other handguns have been stored in those bags with no problems. I tossed the case and sold my XD's. Not necessarily due to this incident. I just decided to stick with Glock. Thanks for your comment.

  • @eldogg4life thanks for the vid man i was looking at getting one man this changed my mine i will stick with the glock 19

  • @redmule02 Definitely can't go wrong with a G19. I have 2 of them. lol

  • I doubt you neglected your XD.

Mine has rust on the ends of all the pins. And the mag release needs constant oil to be smooth.

I use Rem Oil too. Wonder if there is something better.

    Peace

  • Good to know man, are you oceanside?

  • @GuitardedSavant357 lol I'm in Vegas.... Pure desert!!!!

  • I just wanna say that I have a 4" Springfield XD 9mm that until about 6 months ago was used as an EDC weapon for 4 years and has never exhibited any kind of rust to any part of the weapon. It has cycled about 2000 rounds and is still in impeccable shape. Can you tell me about the taclight you had on your video about the mods you made to your XD?

  • @martinsanchez74 It was an NC Star weapons light. I have TLR-1's now but still keep the NC Star as a backup. Decent light for the price. I feel you about your XD's. They are great guns and I never said they weren't. Like I said in my video I was really shocked it rusted. It was not the only weapon that rusted that week. In Vegas we don't get much rain and that week we lots of rain and humidity which is uncommon. I've said this before but ppl don't listen. I'd trust an XD with my life, I have!!!

  • @eldogg4life Thanks for your input. I'm considering the TLR-1S for my XD and am also thinking about adding a Truglo Fiber Optic Sight. Any thoughts on Lasermax sights?

  • @martinsanchez74 TFOs are good sights. By Lasermax do you mean their laser sight?

  • @eldogg4life Yea man, The guide rod laser. Makes for a nice tight package. Do you have any thoughts and that item?

  • @martinsanchez74 WARNING: Just my opinion...lol If I pull our a firearm in an OH SHIT situation I find it hard to believe I'll even remember I have a laser on my gun. My focus is on getting the weapon into the fight at close contact or up to my eyes to find my sights if the target is further out. With that said, if you plan on doing clearing or searches or shooting from very unconventional positions then the laser might help you acquire a target but these things were done for ages w/o lasers.

  • Part 2 I'd take the cash and instead I'd buy some ammo and put it to good use at the range training to present my weapon into the fight and get on target with speed and precision.

  • this won't happen to an XDM, it could be the humidity the gun has been exposed too happened to my AK

  • @KingWilly90 in the correct conditions any piece of metal can rust...

  • @eldogg4life correct thats why you gotta take care of your firearm clean, lube, and protect just like a car

  • @KingWilly90 i have a skateboard...lol

  • I own 8 glocks, and a ruger sr40c all great guns. I was going to buy an xd thursday because the gun store is blowing them out a 379 a piece. Now seeing this I'm hesitant. I carry a g27 or a g23 I LOVE my glocks but, my safe is full of them and I want a change. I was all hyped up on the xd and now I'm not so sure.

  • @thefamcnaj I wouldn't let this video change your opinion. Your experience might be much different than mine. If I were going to buy another one (which I wouldn't be opposed to) I would just make sure it was a recent production. Most stores try to blowout their inventory so ask them if they know the manufactured date. Anything after 2009 should be good to go with a much more durable finish than the earlier models. For that price, I'd pull the trigger!!!!

  • that's crazy, i don't think quality is the reason it rusted, maybe your bag was wet? touched the gun with sweaty hands before putting it in a bag?? (if that was glock rusting XD boys would be all over it)

  • Man if you say it is rust then I believe you, what I'm saying is everyone of my XD's have polymer triggers and mag releases, including the HS2000, and the HS2000 came before the XD. I myself have never had a problem with any of mine and I live in Southeastern N.C. on the coast with the salt air from the ocean 24-7, and the humidity is extremely high all year long. I'm not calling you a liar, I'm just wondering why yours has the metal parts and what happened.

  • I have nothing to admit, I have owned these guns since before they were imported by Springfield as the XD and XDM's. I have the original HS2000 along with several XD's and an XDM and have never had any problem what-so-ever with any of them, no rust, no malfunctions, no nothing. I have put several thousand rounds through them and sometimes not cleaning them for months, and still not one ounce of rust, beats me!!!

  • I have a 1999 model which then was a HS2000 imported by HSAmerica and I also have a 2002 model which was the first year that they changed to Springfield XD models, and they both have polymer triggers and mag releases. I also have 1 2007 model, 2 2009 models and 1 2011 model XDM, and they all also have polymer triggers and mag releases. Makes me wonder if you bought yours used and the prior owner changed out the trigger and mag release?

  • @thnorris1964 No need to wonder, just ask... I bought both my XDs new from the shop. If you google "XD rusty tales" you will see my experience is not all too unique. Why is so hard for you to believe me??? I tell you its rust and you doubt it, I tell you my parts where steel and you make up an idea that I bought it used and someone changed something that worked perfectly fine... Dude it rusted, I cleaned it, sold it and bought Glocks none of which have rusted in my Vegas desert, ever, period.

  • Well now, in the first place the sights are not factory sights, they are XS sights so you can't blame the rust on them on Springfield. Now as for the rust or so called rust on the trigger and on the ambi mag releases, they are all made of polymer, so please tell me how your trigger and mag release buttons which are made out of polymer have rusted? The last account I had is that plastic can't rust. I have had Glocks in the past and they are great guns but< the XD's and XDM's are much better.

  • @thnorris1964 I wasn't blaming the rust on the sights on the XD i was only commenting that they too had rust on them. I also wouldn't blame the rust on the sights for causing the rust on the gun. The gun was rusted. I know you may not want to admit it but its on record that early XD's had rust issues...

  • @thnorris1964 Also the XD series of pistols may now be produced with plastic triggers and mag release buttons but that is not the case when they first came out. My trigger and magazine release button were steel because I bought this gun when they first came out.

  • Ive been saying this for YEARS that the xd finish just plain sucks ass compared to the glocks. The glock tenifer finish is hard as hell, the xd just has pretty much paint on it and it seems to wear out a lot faster than glocks. Ive seen glock gen 1s and 2s in better shape than xd pistols only a few years old (im talking LE use, not college kids shooting once a year and going into the gun case).

  • I didn't read all 8 pages.... but the fact that the rust is also on your new sites, different brand, really leads me to something with the product/storage issues. I've been repairing guns for a living for a few years and don't see cross brand product failure of that magnitude (above and beyond common discussions of XD's and rust). The comments about Flitz work well for me and are rock solid!

  • Rem Oil is among the WORST gun oil I have ever used. That shit is like water. If you want a good gun oil with superb rust protection, I would go with ballistol. Just trying to help, friend.

  • @223JMH

    thx

  • @eldogg4life Your welcome! I subbed!

  • dont EVER keep guns in a case for more then a couple days or they will start to rust.

  • @DirtSquidC33

That's a very broad generalization considering many guns have been stored in this manner for a substantial length of time without producing rust. Hence my shock...

  • I've not had an issue with my XD 9 and I carry mine everywhere I go. I live in Florida and its pretty moist and rains quite often.

  • hate to say it but you get what you pay for. they claim to be better than a glock and as you can see their workmanship is not any where even close . my cousin has a glock 22 that he has carried almost daily for 15+years CCW sweating all over it in the humid south carolina weather and his gun looks brand new still . sorry you got had by xd's marketing pitch stick with whats proven . glocks been around for almost 30 years xd almost 8 years with many failures and junk made along the way

  • holy crap

  • @FormerMPSGT

Thanks for the advice Sgt. I no longer have this issue since I no longer have this gun. My cleaning and maintenance protocol has always gotten the job done but for those looking to improve their method I definitely cosign your recommendations.

  • Eldogg, sorry to hear about your xd. Im shocked to see how badly it rusted in just 16 days. Like you I wipe down my firearms with a silicone cloth. Throw in a desiccant pack with the gun if its going in any case. I think just about any case will trap moisture with your firearm. Still though, 16 days seems premature for any firearm to rust. Im sorry it happened but have to say thanks for sharing. I will keep a closer eye on my XDM from now on.

  • @jeepman65

I appreciate your comment. It was hard for me to believe but many people who've commented before you do not consider the weather conditions out here in Vegas. Its always dry so when we get some rain we do have to keep our eyes on our gear. Would it have fired and worked if I needed it? Yes but cosmetically no on likes rust. Even My AR had some surface rust but as I said in my vid, my Glock did not rust...lol

As they say "mileage may vary".

  • I've had my XD 9mm for 3 years with no rust issue's. And after about 2000 rounds through it, it has never 1 time not went bang when I pulled the trigger.

  • clean yo shit more than it wont happen

  • sorry not trying to over load this with comments but my buddy had a colt mustang .380 and he had it under his sleeping bag for two/three days and when he packed his stuff his colt was covered in rust so it was from negligence sweaty hands or any kind of moister will cause this effect or similar and for those out there thinking that its just an xd that will rust your wrong it took 3 days max in a inappropriate condition but yea after that the colt was ruined was all cosmetic shot just fine

  • The reason why your Glocks wouldn't have rusted is in those areas is because Those parts on Glocks are made out of plastic and not steel like the XD's are. I can tell you "mess" with your guns too much because you have sprayed your magazines Black, changed the rear sight to Heine sights. The barrel looks like you sanded the wear marks from normal firing and you have that extended magazine butt. Then at the end you say you neglected it. Rust-Aid will take all of that off.

  • @darkvader480

??? I did not spray painted anything, The sights are XS big dots installed by a gunsmith, The barrel was not sanded and that magazine sleeve comes with XD sub compacts. None of that would cause rust anyways so it's irrelevant. My Glocks have steel but are coated with Tenifer while the XDs have been notorious for rust because of an inadequate finish. Google "XD Rusty Tales" I didn't neglect it anymore than any other gun but only it rusted. XD sold. Glock, no rust issues... ever...

  • why did you sell your xd? @eldogg4life

  • @leviabner0

I simply chose to stick with one platform to keep things consistent. I once had a ton of handguns but now I only have 3. 2 Glocks and a revolver. I think Glocks are highly reliable, easy to use/repair, cheap, easily customizable and accessories are always available. If I did it all over again M&P's would get a strong look. I liked the XD but not enough to make it my gun of choice. If I was a .45 guy I would get the XD45 over the G21 due to grip circumference. G19 & G26 for me!!!!

  • yea im an xd fan if i was to go a different path id go with walther glocks are great but kinda played out like the ak super reliable well served if not the best but its just my opinion they are ugly dogs just not my type i will own one soon but still cant give up my xd it will be passed on to my grand childeren if it lasts that long my buddy just picked up an m&p and no one at the range enjoyed it as much as my xd,iut how sucks to hear you lost interest in xd but how much did uget$@eldogg4life

  • Was the gun inside one of those plastic tubs? Because that would hold moisture if you took it in and out of the cold/hot.

  • Hey man, sorry to hear about the rust. Does that bag lock moisture in/out? The only thing I can think of is that the humidity and temperature got to the metal parts. I have an XD9 subcompact myself and lucky for me, it hasn't happened. Being left handed, how do you like your Glocks? Being left handed myself, I have hesitated to purchase one.

  • @jus10foote

My only concern as a lefty was the mag release button being exposed. My first gun was a Glock 21 but I sold it because since the mag release would often be activated as I got into or dismounted my vehicle. I really like the XD's mag release because it is inserted and not prone to being activated by merely being bumped as was the case with my G21. Now I have holsters (Serpa & Custom Holsters) that shield the mag release so I don't have to worry about it. Now I have 5 Glocks...lol

  • I have had my XD since 07 and not once have I had a hint of rust on mine. Springfield will replace any problems. I had to send a 1911 from them back a few times but wasnt rust related and recieved it back quick. As for the Golck fans... what a pile of garbage. I've owend three and all three of them have broke on me, including the slide itself

  • @Ryan40272

Congrats, mileage varies... I can't change my experience and you can't change yours either. You do what works for you and I'll do what works for me. I have 5 Glocks and am getting another on Friday because they have worked for me and if they have not worked for you then its safe to say you are in the minority. I know Springfield would've refinished it but when I am going to trust my life to something I like things done right the first time. Google "XD rusty tales" and read a little.

  • @eldogg4life I've read that before.. As far as the trusting my life? I trust my Kimber Ultra TLE II more than any pistol i've ever owend.

  • @PaytRawrsVids

    I have five of them.

  • Eldogg4life: did you get Springfield to fix it? Do the earlier models have the lifetime warrenty?

  • @wanastunt

Yeah, I did get it refinished. I have subsequently sold it and am considering getting an XD 9mm in OD green. We'll see, I'll keep ya posted.

  • Just spray paint it and you wont have these issues.

  • This does not discredit the XD, but instead should show the importance of maintaining your weapons properly. With proper cleaning and lubrication, this would not have happened. This is definitely not a fault on the XD.

  • @mmamunky13

If you check out xdtalkcom/forums/rusty-tales/ you will see that many people have had problems with their early production XD which had a different finish than the newer productions. All my firearms are treated equally as well so I expect them all to be equally as resistant to rust. Only the XD rusted. We may not like this fact but it is a fact. My goal was not to discredit XDs but to show what happened. I love your definite assertions as if you are the authority on rust... spare me

  • @mmamunky13 He clearly stated that he cleaned and lubed the weapon 15 days before noticing this.

  • that sucks dude! I have the xd 9mm full size, but I got it last year. I have had no problems whatsoever, and I've probably put 7 or 8 hundred rounds through it, and have only cleaned it 3 or 4 times. So I would definitely recommend this gun. However, I also own a glock, and I love that too. You really can't go wrong either way...except the life time warrenty on the Springfield.

  • damn, thats disappointing. i was thinking of getting an semi-compact xd9 and couldn't find any reason not to... until now. that really sucks. i really wanted that xd.

  • @rmordica

You have to keep in mind that my XD is an early model which had a different type of finish on it that the ones produced now. The early xd's had rust issues but that issue has dissipated. Also keep in mind that I live in Las Vegas and it is very dry here. We did have days of rain which are uncommon and that was the cause of the added moisture. My friends also had minor rust during this time period. So if you like the XD, I definitely recommend it!!!

  • Gods punishing you for buying the glock.

  • @Rozzrocks666

    wow that was funny!!!!

  • damm thats crazy never seen that before on xds..

  • damn that sucks... thats the trade off between XD's and Glocks... steel parts instead of high grade plastic... there had to have been some sort of moisture trapped in the bag or on the gun when you stored it, steel doesn't rust by itself. Hope you can get it cleaned up, brother. I know i'd be pissed to pick up mine & see rust.

  • It's definitely not silly to take your guns out and inspect or dry fire them every week, especially if it's a carry gun. Tiny spots of rust have happened to two of my carry guns, both 1911s, both on the barrels despite my best efforts. It's hard not to, but don't feel bad about it. Keep up the great videos.

  • hey can you do a video of after you clean it up?

  • We'll see, I have plans to go shooting this weekend so I'll be filming. The XD will definitely make an appearance.

  • I never keep my guns in cases like that......holds potentially moist surfaces against the gun

  • A friend also reminded me that Vegas, a normally dry climate, received a lot of rain in the last two weeks. Precipitation and moisture in the air can also aid in rust accumulation.

  • My .02...

XD's have always tried to be like Glock. I've always sworn by Glock and always will. I own 3 (17C, 17L, and 26)

What I would do is buff out that cancerous rust, oil it real good, and sell that P.O.S.! Get another Glock, another gun, or gun parts that you need. It really isn't worth all the hassel.

Plus, every few days you'd have to check the condition of it just so that it doesn't happen again? "F" that!

Good guns should never rust in 2 weeks.

    Thanks for the vid, el.

  • "Good guns should never rust in 2 weeks",

    Well said!!!

That's exactly what I'm gonna do!!!

  • @bigdogralph dude... really bro metal is metal and if the glock was in the same bag at the same time it would have exactly the same amount rust thats like says there is two paper clips beside each other both have the same finish and both are made out of the same metal witch will rust 1st? neither they will both equally rust the same. anyways what im saying is if both were oiled and prepared for the bag neither should rust. if rust happens it wont only be the xd sorry

  • Hey its not you or the bag I really think it may very well be the parts.

  • Dude my Springfield 1911 is doing the same thing. All the little parts.

  • ouch...

Is it a 1911 of the high dollar variety???

The odd thing is that it even happened on my night sights which are brand new...

I think it was the bag and its use as a storage bag which it is not. Good luck and keep us posted.

  • Its the "loaded" model My sites trijocon did not rust. I just replaced the small parts slide lock etc. and its been fine since. I just had mine in the original case it come in. I was looking at those pistol bags I think they are on close out and price seem good. I am not buying one now.

  • try some balistol gun cleaner and oil its the best man! iv been using it for years check out hickkok.45 channel he uses dat shit to. Yee L8ter mean.

  • Dude that is fucked up!! I have a Glock 17 that is over 20 years old and it has ZERO RUST!

    ★★★★★

  • Yeah that's not cool at all man. And just like Bowdeen said, get some of those silica gel packets. I look for them at work cause I just got my first gun and want to put some in there cause I don't have a gun safe or anything.

  • awesome, what did you get???

No vids??? Come on, get some up!!!

    LOL

    Be safe and train hard!!!

  • I got a Glock 26. I've wanted one since they came out and I got a decent tax return so I finally got it. I was gonna make a vid but my one camera won't even turn on with new batteries or anything. Lol. I might try it with my compact camera but the quality might be uber shitty. Lol.

  • Man it must be a lot of hummidity in your place In a bag the air does not move around the gun Save some of those bags that come with eletronics and stick them in I duro coat my guns its seems to work well

  • Thats what kills me the conditions were the same with the exception of that bag. I'm not using those any more for storage only for transport to the range and back. I'l learned my lesson the hard way... but all is well now...

  • what oil you use bro

  • rem oil and rem oil wipes

  • try to get some hoppes elite its the bomb the rem stuff just drys up to fast the hoppes leaves a protective coat thats why all my guns look new its the oil good luck bro and just get some oil on a rag and rub the shit out of the rust spots it sould remove it you dont need any steel wool or shit

  • yeah it came off after I cleaned it with a firm tooth brush and reapplied some oil. I'll try that hoppes for sure. I used their solvent and it works wonders!!!

  • you can clean most of that rust off with #0000 ot steel wool and not harm the metal also check out Iraqveteran8888 vid for electro barrel cleaning i have heard of those bags causing that b4 try putting it in a ziplock with a mostiure absober and see what happens

  • first... just kidding...lol
