The venus project seems to advocate putting humans in a plastic bubble like city will solve all our problems, Humans have been expanding for thousands of years with no sign of slowing, Even in countries where resources are scarce the populations still rise to unsustainable levels.

All/most of the technologies presented by Jacque can be produced today and a lot of his concepts have been developed (with exception to some of his detailed designs due to the fact that he tries to keep his designs from being patented from some business)

The venus project seems to advocate putting humans in a plastic bubble like city will solve all our problems, Humans have been expanding for thousands of years with no sign of slowing, Even in countries where resources are scarce the populations still rise to unsustainable levels.
The only way i see this working is forced mandatory 1 child policy.
If you could do that and take out the need for money factor then there is a chance it will work.

The reason why you are having a difficult time understanding it is because you have lived in a society all your life where you have to take care of yourself. This society is based on a SOCIETAL effort. Meaning everyone will pitch in to do what it takes for the community. Competition will NOT exist in a society where everyone receives what they NEED.

There are no need for jobs such as janitors, maids, or any basically enslaved jobs. This is a movement of raising awareness, of helping people to help the planet, and to live in perfect coexistance. Art and Intelligence would flourish, and military would not be necessary. The greed of country products would be no more, there would be no domestic product. Everyone eats, everyone learns, everyone lives. Free from the thoughts of "How much could I sell" it would be "How can I help society?"

Not every one is equal, so there will be haves and have nots. When you have this, people will behave accordingly. They make these houses so white, but who is cleaning them? Do we strip current "non-enslaved jobs" of their position and make them equal as enslaved job peoples? It doesn't add up at all. Who is really to gain? Maybe the creator of this.

doctors are always going to be scarce even with lots of education because it's nerve-wracking. attractive people are going to be scarce, unless the society perfects plastic surgery first.
as soon as anything becomes scarce, this whole system breaks down and trade kicks in again.

Janitors would be LESS necessary because messes would be less prevelant due to efficiency & people would clean up after themselves. Just a thought.

@sybo59 The idea is to not work at all. Machines are supposed to be doing all the work to support our basic needs. I would think that any other work we would want done (that doesn't fall within the lines of basic human needs) you would have to do yourself. Which is fair. Technology has allowed us to expand our adventures to what we have today. A society like this would never fly because confinement and isolation isn't what we Americans are about. Moving to a society that has predetermined boundaries is foreign to our way of life...like moving into a medieval fort! Future population will be markedly smaller because we will understand our impact better due to higher levels of education and therefore consciousness. A large number of us will no longer feel the need to reproduce as has been tradition in the past. We would be well aware that in the past we were conditioned to breed more little consumers. It won't need a conspiracy to reduce the population, it will be part of our natural evolution towards being a true civilisation for the first time.

Human demand is limitless, it’s simply not possible for 6 billion people to each live in a 5000 square foot mansion with attached private beach on the Florida coast. We live in a finite world and I am simply not convinced that even the base assumption proselytized by this film is realistic. I understand where you get the mansion bit from but I think that was meant to illustrate having homes built in idealistic locations (not just Florida) and with very minimal impact to
