@anebt The A-Bombs arrived too late in the war for Axis Europe. And even in late 1945, The Allies only had 2 left and tricked Japan thinking they had more. Remember Allied terror bombing of Germany had more effect than A-Bombs, Million+ Civilians wiped out mostly women&children. If it wasnt for the British then Germany would have created the first A-Bombs, The Technology of Axis Europe was more advanced than the Allies. We had to learn from Germany and there ideas made up smart.
@videocruzable Just think about it, It was impossible to even invade Britain never mind defeated the British Empire whitch is insane. Also it was impossible for the Axis forces to even get to the Urals in Russia, Never mind getting to Siberia, Try to conquer the Soviet Union was impossible due to logistics. It was impossible for the Axis Alliance to win the war, Allies were always going to win from day-1.
@gettincrazywithit The German high command did think of those things, However Adolf Hitler the Austrian Dictator thought he knew best, Infact Hitler thought he was a military genius and his Generals, advisors, etc were just getting in his way, If Hitler had took note of what the German command was telling him, There wouldnt have been any invasion or war.
The attack on the USSR must have been absolutely obvious to everyone. So many troops - many of them former communist voters - one or two must have had contacts to get messages across. But those that got across Stalin refused to believe. So great was his trust in his political brother Hitler.
It was 1943 when the Axis forces were been crushed, In the Eastern Front the Axis had lost in Moscow,Stalingrad and after Kursk was on full re-treat, In N,Africa the British had defeated the Axis in Al Alamein and humiliated Rommels counter attacks and the Americans were coming to Tunisa, GAME OVER! 1943!
much sooner hitler lost the war. He had to take moscow immediatly instead of concentrating on the oilfield in the south. The germans pushed themselfs beyond there limits and failed to take moscow later. Meanwhile stalin had his fresh siberian troops brought over against to tired german war industry. 1941 was the turning point and indeed kursk was the final attempt to regain strategic initiative in russia from therefor the war was lost
@thebiest100 You could even say Hitler lost the war 1940, When the Luftwaffe was defeated in the Battle of Britain(Biggest Air battle in History) And 1941, When Hitler seperated his forces in Russia and cared for Stalingrad than the Oil Fields to the South whitch would have won Hitler the war. The biggest problem for the German Forces and Axis Alliance was Hitler and Goering. The Germans had the best and even with there Allies they didnt have the biggest, But could have won the war.
yeah agreed, i honestly think they could won in russia. But hitler should let his generals fight the war and not try to do it himself. He was a very poor tacticus. people may say wathever they want but in 1940-41 the german army was the best standing army in the world. And even later, when it was to late, there technologies were better then the technologies of the allies
@thebiest100 The Axis Forces did just about win in Russia, Untill Hitler thought that Stalingrad was more VITAL than the Oil Fields to the South(Whitch gave Soviets 85% Oil, And without the Soviets would have lost the war) And Hitler thought his generals were idiot, And he was the great military leader(He was a fool) And i agree the Germans had the best and wrote the book on how to fight modern war, However you could say Hitler was the Allies secret weapon, He was a mad man with a big head!
@thebiest100 Yeah, Hitler was a fool very bad military leader. The Oil fields to the South of Stalingrad were the lifeline of the Soviet Union, If the Axis Forces had taken there main supply of Oil the war would be over., Also the Axis would have the vital resources they needed. Hitler hated the Stalin that much he took maybe the biggest gamble of the war. Also hitler said the British effort to make war was destroyed and they were still fighting in N.Africa,Mid-east,etc,etc HE WAS NUTS
@martynrobin121 I doubt the Nazis were strong enough for an all out assault on the south in 1941 and the huge extent of front that this would have created. The obvious choice was Moscow as it was the centre of the 'spider's web' as an interviewee here states.
@alanheath3 Hitler seperated his Forces at the start of the conflict in Russia to take Moscow,Stalingrad, And Operations Barberossa was a hudge risk for the Axis Alliance, The Soviets had over 4+ Millions more men and countless thousands of tanks and Air-craft,etc Hitlers foolish gambles cost Germany and the Axis Alliance the war, Also Hitler thought he could take Russia in a few month, Hitlers generals thought he was insane and crazy, Just like most of the wor;d did.
@martynrobin121 yet, barbarossa started off awesomely and it was a disaster for the soviets, they practically lost all their airforce and huge armies were captured. Had they fallen back from Moscow instead of winter there, it may changed the course of ww2 drastically. (I still think the allies would have won though)
@BVargas78 How could the Allies have won?? No Allied battle of the war could even compare to the Soviet battles. The Allies would have never won alone. Remember the U.S waited till the British and Soviets were winning before they got involved, If the Soviets were defeated the Allies would have been humiliated. Just look at Normandy-Berlin?? How could the Allies have defeated the Axis Alliance??
@martynrobin121 America had at it's command huge material resources, and hadnt gone into 'total war' mode yet, as germany did in 1943. This would have increased war outputeven further. Plus, the allies often underestimted german capacity, thinking they would be fighting weak forces due to most being based in the east. If the soviet union was defeated this underestimating of the enemy wouldnt have happened. Finally, the atomic bomb would still likely have come about in 1945 or 46.
@BVargas78 The Allies couldnt meet the Axis Alliance on the Battlefields, They wernt even in the same league! And if the Soviets were defeated the Axis Alliance would have all the Resources,Man-power they needed!! Also Oil Rich Middle-east under British rule would be wide open from Invasion and more Resources,Man-power, The Allies would have never won alone they were too weak! And it was the Nazis who first started the Nuclear bomb peoject, Also they ahd the first fighter jets, etc, etc
@martynrobin121 starting the first nuclear bomb project doesnt really account for that much if they would probably still have lost the race. Even though one could argue that the a victory over the soviet union would have given the nazis more resources to put into the project, one could also argue that a victory over the soviet union would also have been disadvantageous in the short term. Policing such a large industry and kick starting industry again would have been costly (in the short term)
@BVargas78 The Nazis would have built the Nuclear bomb first(However British S.O.E raid stopped them), Also they were making SuperRockets whitch could reach NewYork! And they had the Worlds first FighterJets! The Allies couldnt meet the Axis in the Battlefield, There tanks were pathetic! The Allies would have never been able to defeat the Axis Alliance alone. How could the Allies have defeated the Axis Alliance alone??
The war was over when Hitler invaded Russia even though, the Germans could have recovered they didn't and Japan attack on America was just genocide for them the next phases of the war.
hitler could have won in 1941, his biggest mistakes were not going first to moscow but to the oilfields, under estimate the russians thanx to there massive early succes, and the damn cold russian winter. The germans stood at 27 km of moscow, when he took the city the war was probably over in russia? Ow yeah and instead of killing the russian civilians, he better told the he was liberating them of stalin
The German Army never fully recovered from the beating it took in Russia around Moscow and elsewhere during the winter of 1941-42 when it suffered over a million casualties.
The nazi vermin invading the Soviet Union/Russia was a doomed failure by it's very doing but the Wermacht could very well have had far further battlefield victories but for the very fact Germany actually invaded the Soviet Union/Russia *WITH THE INTENT AND MENTALITY IT DID......".
The Red Army did indeed prevail here, and I would never take anything away from those who made the ultimate sacrifice to drive the fascist invader from their homeland. My problems with the Soviet advance has always been strategic as they would sacrifice so many in fruitless human wave style attacks.
It would be later culminated in 1945 when the Red Army smashed the remaining defenders of Berlin and sack the Reichstag, but at what a cost.
I agree, Russia is way to big for any one country to concur alone. Maybe if china, European union, and America invaded; Russia would lose. But EU is pussy and china and America would never cooperate together.
what is your f***** problem. leave in your country and don't drull for russia. you must be 13 yrs old idiot. plus russia now has nuclear weapon. moron as is.
@mapnxyaha2k10 LMFAO lies. White Americans maybe, but we have every race, religion, and country in America. Not every American is of European decent anymore.
If the wehrmacht captured Moscow, Army Group Center would have been able to cope better with the artic like conditions, and would have had more manpower to aid their thrust into the Cacauses in 1942.
whats the big deal? If the nazis had got moscow the soviets would just have moved back another 50 miles and started again. they could have done that for at least five years they had no problems with man power. No one can conqer russia way to big.
if hitler have won moscow the world would have been his, becaus evry time the germans conkerd a country their soldiers had to worck with them and so if he would have captured moscow it would have been the end of the world
the battle of moscow was the beginning of the end for hitler, something which was more obvious at the battle of stalingrad. And the only one who should be pitied is the russian people who suffered from the nazis behaviour (let's remember leningrad and the 1000000 deaths because of starvation) and stalin's wrong decisions.
Probably not complete victory, but I think the Germans would have had a great chance to win the war if they had driven to Moscow in August when the generals were trying to persuade Hitler to continue driving East. Even Stalin himself said in private that the Germans should have driven on to Moscow in August. Although Stalin didn't say Russia would lose the war, he did say if the Germans got Moscow the Soviet Union would have great difficulty mounting major operations. I can show you his quote.
