We hiked Crawford Notch. Go in late Jul or early Aug. This trail affords phenomenal views because it's almost all ridge through the Presidential range. We stayed at AMC Highland Center the night before, then Mizpa Hut overnight on the mtn. You could probably do the whole hike in a day if you start early enough, but then there's the hike down...we copted for a ride back from the summit to AMC Center; there are local cabs who do that sort of thing.
