what does this exactly do, ive done something like this, but it was just a normal push up position and i had to hold it till i couldnt do it no more. this is how i learned how to do push ups, i had to build up my strength first, is this the same thing youre trying to accomplish j/w i will have to try this at that angle. good vid.
wait im just quite confused myself. While on the pushup formation do u still try to relax and the movement of the pushup is focused on the elbows? just like any wing chun exercise eg. Siu Lim tao
Sounds like you already know a little about it :-) Yes, definitely have to relax into it, whilst attempting to maintain structure. And if you practice the Sui Lim Tao very slowly, you will improve your push ups. The push up tests your whole body structure, elbows are connected to that.
It's a simple exercise, but unfortunately there's no simple technique.
Some tips: try draw it up and sending it through your arms - just be careful not to mistake external energy for internal energy. External energy will leave you breathing heavy. Internal might feel painful and leave you a little sweaty, but you won't be breathing heavy.
We hope people with high levels of proficiency will be able to work it out and get back to us!
I haven't seen any scientific papers investigating the difference to date. I've heard people differentiate between "short" and "long" muscles and the core.
From exchanges with physios, I'm sure that core strength is part of internal energy. But it appears more than simply mass and density of core muscles and has to do with the ability to relax under pressure.
In contrast, external energy is raw, unbridled muscle mass and it tends to become flooded with lactic acid at around 3-4 minutes.
I'll reckon that only you guys can do it because you know where to send the Chi for THIS specific School's excercise.
Tell me where you send it (Chi) and I'll give it an honest shot. Otherwise why issue a challenge when all of us are at a complete disadvantage in technique/details?
No need to get into Qigong specifics, your challenge assume a basic level of proficiency (IMHO). I hope this makes sense.

What is the difference between internal and external energy?I mean in medical-scientific terms.
