  • Nicely done :-)

I hope you'll take a listen to a rough cut of a follow up I put together myself some years back but never got around to completing.

  • Thanks for posting. Haven't heard this since I was a kid. (I'm 45 now.)

  • Other than a dose of the clap, this is what would be classified as "VIRAL" entertainment back in those days. I remember this being a big deal

  • WOW. I haven't heard this since I had the 45 when this came out. Assuming this came out in 76' (after the movie in 75'), I was 10 when I got this 45. I guess I haven't heard it since then....and it was so big when it came out. So clever at the time. And I can't believe how much I remembered. It just brings back great memories. And for those of you who think this is "gay" (like someone posted), you obviously weren't a kid in the mid-70's and you just don't get it.

  • this movie scared me for life

  • @carol4nn Tell me about it! I was living in Daytona Beach at the time, and I saw it in a theatre RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE BEACH! People were literally afraid to go in the water. That summer a kid from Milwaukee lost a leg to a shark off a pier by the Boardwalk because he was swimming where people were fishing! People were very uneducated then!

  • These radio parodies were great. I tried to tell my boys about the radio parody from the blizzard of '78. Does anyone have a conection to that one? I belive I heard it on Chicago radio, mabe AM wmaq or with Larry Lujack WLS. Any help with the soundtrack or group would be appreciated.

    the

  • Man! I havent heard that in years! Thanks for posting!

  • GAY!!!!!!!!!!

  • @A1sausie So nice to hear you're coming out of the closet and you're no longer afraid of who you are. Congrats.

  • @beetlejuiceflorida Great job , have not heard this in years! loved the video work!

  • @beetlejuiceflorida

    Thanks for telling him.

I hate when people use the term gay as a negative thing.

and besides this song may be a little corny and dated but it was fun back in the day

    lol

  • "No, wait! Mr. Jaws! That's not how this record is supposed to end"!! - I love that line! :D

And the shark's thinking "Hey, i'm the biggest box office hit in the world...I can do whatever I want"! :p

And you did an excellent job of syncing up clips from the movie with the record. Dickie Goodman would have loved it.

  • Captain Quint !!! Mr Jaws rocks superb video its going in my Fav's

  • ahhh Dickie Goodman.

  • Thanks. I used to have the 45 of this song and I wanted to share with my kids. This is the kind of parody that I grew up with.

  • Lol I Have This On My Ipod

  • What Do you call Stuff Like This? I wanna look for more!!!

  • american humor? what the fuck..

  • I notice you made another Anti-American comment on another video. What do you have against Americans?

  • God damnit, why do you hate America? What did we ever do to you besides win WWII?

  • i did nothing, i wasnt even born at that time -.-

besides, i like american series like

    Always sunny in philly

    and Southpark

    spiderman (90's series)

    batman (as above)

    jackass

but i really dislike the stupid hollywood films like "the hulk" and "king kong 2" and the other 234892375 massproduced tapes..

  • Yes, you did something. Saying "American humor" was a racist comment. It would be the same thing if someone had said "Swedish idiocy." Think about what you say next time. If you didn't like the video, criticise that item of the video, not where it came from. Not "being born" at that time is no excuse for your comment.

  • That was nicly done!

  • I too had this 45. i used to listen to this over and over. thats great thanks for this video.

  • OMG, I'm 8 years old again. A friend and I were just talking about this song and I just had to see if someone had posted it. Thanks big time!!

  • yeppers. ty 4 posting. :D

  • i remember they did a lot of these i wonder if there is a website for them? i wonder if dickie goodman is still around?

  • I love the parts "Like a rhine stone cow boy" and "Wouldnt u give ur hand to a friend"

  • I have been looking for this for years! I remember it in like first or second grade music class. lol...always think of this song when I hear, "Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight!"

  • I think of it whenever I hear ANY of the songs featured in the parody. Especially these parts: "Big boys don't cry..." and "Wouldn't you give your hand to a friend". My hubby and I will look at each other and say, "Mr. Jaws!!" LOL I've been trying to explain this recording to my kids and now I can just play it for them. Thanks to beetlejuiceflorida for posting it!

  • LOL I loved this when I was a kid and in 7th grade music class we all had to do skits and my partner and I did this song. LOL teacher bout fell out of her chair laughing so hard. Thank you for posting it.

  • Cute!

  • Like a Rhinestone Cowboy...HAHAHA ROFLMAO

  • Yeah I always loved that part too.

  • well done :)

  • Captain Quint is Shouting something at him,'I'll get you baby one of these nights'

  • Jive-Talkin'

  • i think its try talking

  • "Jive Talkin" was a slang phrase back in the '70's, it basically means that you're talking but not being realistic about what you're saying. For further proof, research songs by the Bee Gee's, they performed the song "Jive Talkin'."

  • jive talkin. and you can search youtube airplane jive talkin. lol

  • mr jaws what would you like to say anything b4 u go swimming

why can't we be friends why can't we be friends

  • This was the second 45 I ever owned, the first was Beth.

  • Tru dat. Have not heard this since it was played on the radio

  • Awesome! This was the first 45 I ever owned.

  • why can't we be friends why can't we be friends

  • lol this is the most funny thing i ever heard XD

  • I love dickie goodman and mr jaws he did in the seventies. Only thing i did'nt like on this video was the remake song of rhinestone cowboy and please mr please. some of that stuff is on one of the dickie goodman cd's that dos'nt sound too good as the original songs that break in like mr jaws.

  • Wow I had this on 45, nice to see what you've done with it.

  • Excellent! Very Creative. 5 Stars.

  • I remember being in 4th grade listening to this before class. teacher was cool and used to let us play records. aaaaaaah the good old days

  • weren't teachers cooler then? my fifth grade teacher, Mr.Grillo, let us listen to Mr.Jaws, the Blues Brothers, Cheech and Chong..all kinds of cool stuff...good old days indeed.

  • Being a teacher in training, I agree with you but I also offer an explanation. Today's teachers don't have as much freedom as they used to. There are very strict regulations concerning what kind of material can be brought into a classroom.

  • Wow

  • i couldn't have done better myself!!! Great Job!!!

  • Thanks a bunch.

  • GOOD JOB!! I literally have not heard this since I got the 45 rpm back in '75. (it got lost soon after..)

Nice to know other remember these rarities.
