loving this song, has to be a new track, clearly is Jon Hudson on guitar and its better than half the tracks on Album of the Year, all the b-sides surfaced from that album (Big Kahuna etc) which were pretty poor as well
i'm a massive fnm fan, adore them, but i really, really don't like this song. i don't hate it, but it just doesn't really sound all that great imo. the lyrics in the verse are a bit iffy, i dont think they really gel well with the song. the we will rise bit is cool. the bass and drums are neat, but the whole song just isn't working for me.the keyboard tune though i appreciate the timing isn't something i really dig either. the seagull song (ad outtake) preview sounds amazing though.
@ColdHeartedMan1979 Thats debatable, his vocal range has indeed increased but I havent seen a live video after about 1995 where hes sung like on The Real Thing album, I miss that voice.
@lurycio Oh, I do as well. I miss that nasaly whine he had on songs like Falling to Pieces and, well, that whole Real Thing album. Amazing stuff. And THEN to turn around and do a 180 on Angel Dust. That's just friggin' genius.
I know he can still do that old-school Patton style, he just chooses not to.
The are some vids on here where you can hear it a little bit. Message me and remind me to find one for ya.
the song is good, and there is a good reason for that, that also represents an ironic inner disappointment for me today for not having this heard much earlier, for now, it` like landing on a moon in 26.century,wtf...!
Lets get this straight, i saved a praise for the end: this perticular song is so, and i mean soooo much under influence of the band called Siouxsie and the Banshees!... i recon guys already covered 1 song from them, so - congs mr.pat,u stabbed on good music;)-of roddy^billy youth..
whoa! after hearing this i really, really hope they're recording a new album. one minute patton says they've no intention to but then they release this... hmm. guess we'll have to wait and see...
They've been referring to the song as * on the setlist, clearly means that it isn't a cover
By the sound of the song it is either a new/unheard FNM song (though why play it now if it was an old song) or else a track from the new Tomahawk album (possibly a Tomahawk ft. Billy Gould/Roddy Bottum collabaration??)
My gut feeling and hope is that this is a new track
@SmoovJazzFingerBlast I'm actually kinda glad it's not a FNM song. Nonetheless, and to "prove" your argument, can you give us another hint say the band's name or the song's? Anyway, thank for helping to clarify the whole thing.
Alguien que haya ido al malvinas me podria confirmar si tocaron Stripsearch ... me gusta tanto ese tema q no se si lo soñé o sucedió realmente ajjajjaj en serio ! Gracias !!!!
The reality of the situation is this: FNM does not exactly have an open line of communication with their fans. Speculation and unsubstantiated rumors are the name of the game if you love this band. Accept it or hang on some worthless pop stars every useless word.
That being said, there is no more prolific songwriter in modern rock than Patton. Do not put it past this band to have quietly recorded new music since last year.
You know what? Song's quite boring... Few good ideas on the arrangement and progression, but far from being considered a class A FNM song... It's more like a B-side that wouldn't be good enough for an actual album.
@SmoovJazzFingerBlast Please step up and introduce yourselves to the audience, dear little unknown local band! By the way, did FNM give credit to the artists? If not, I wouldn't call it a prank. I would call it something else - and, certainly, somenthing not nice. Love FNM and eagerly looking forward to see them on nov 14th here in BZL.

@cathalc08 I really think it's an angel dust era song. I know they recorded at least 18 tracks from that time period...but who knows.

Well I heard Patton say "Welcome to our wedding...or funeral" when he was talking before the song. So there you go.

We’ll walk the shore ??
We will rise from the killing floor / Like a matador
Let your sweet dreams never stale??fairytale/ Fairytales
We will be where you will be no more/ No more
The stain you bless, the hangman’s axe will serve you well???
Now we’re coming back/ Our time could waste all these???
We’ll jump the gates and …?? We’ve arrived
We will rise from the killing floor / Like a matador
The killing, the killing
