But doesn't the EFCA allow for even a bare majority of workers to impose a union on ALL the workers, including that 49% that don't want it, in a workplace? Are there any specific provisions to prevent workers who didn't vote for it from being forced into it?? Wow, I just read the bill to see what it actyakkt says. What Rachel says here "isn't exactly correct." While the bill does say the NLRB election processes remain, what she conveniently failed to mention is the bill allows whatever group is trying to form a union to call the shot to have an open or secret ballot.

So, do you thing a union backed effort is "really" going to suggest a "secret" ballot? Nahhhh, no way!

If business and labor can't agree to a deal in short order, it goes to the GOVERNMENT to decide the labor contract. Pelosi will be deciding what's in the best interest of WalMart. If Republicans are in charge, Newt Gingrich would be deciding what's in the best interest of unions. I just can NOT believe ANYONE in their right mind thinks government should decide these things. It's INSANE. If a business has to choose between a plant in China or a Pelosi decided labor deal...who gets the jobs!
