Can someone please post Despers rendition of Crazy's "The Band From Space" from Panorama finals night a few years back? They didn't win then but that was an amazing piece of music notwithstanding.
I just love clive every sound he ever did is great despers has been miss judged for the last ten years it's time to get new judges. despers great job every time love you guys the hills are alive.
im an all stars fan but i think clive bradley was the greatest arranger to grace this land. the most beautiful passages can be found rolling from the hills of laventille, under the guiding hands of mr bradley. i will cherish the memories forever.
Very strange that my initial commment has disappeared....but any way...I just want to reiterate that this arrangement of In My house...IS the best thing that happened for the 90's...it is also teh best tune he arranged since Pan in Harmony way back in 1976...what a pity so many of you missed it....
There are too many good Bradley arrangements for me to choose just one and say it's his best. Just when you think you've found one, you hear something incredible in another...his New York arrangements were incredible as well.
incredible indeed, but I would debate bigmacttwi, as it is almost common knowledge that bee's melody by renegades is indeed the most incredible song too have not won panorama, and that it is by far the best arrangement seen in Trinidad for a number of years. I cannot for the life of me find another performance that matches Jit's arrangement.
Renegades did not win with Bees Melody. That year Panorama went to Exodus with Savannah Party. Definitely Exodus did not deserve the win. Bees Melody was better by a mile, as was Phase II with Jam meh up.
Hey I agree with you about Renegades not winning with Bee's Melody but I think Pan in A Minor is the best Jit arranged and did not win. This was a good arrangement by Bradley, they deserved to win that year!
@cellosteelpanman ... you know if I were from All Stars I would say it is common knowledge that tune "X" from my band was the best arrangement to never win. Same for Phase II, Desperadoes, etc. Having said that, "Sailing" was a masterful piece of work, as was "No Pan" ... and a few more
@depannist ah, yes, but I have the advantage of having not played in Trinidad *yet : ) *
I think that every arranger mentioned, Boogsie, Clive, Philmore, even Andy Narell have their incredible capabilities, and their own distinct style. But, as far as I have heard, nonbe of them have combined the energy, the musicality, and the complexity that you hear in every one of Jit's tunes. But, that's just my ear.
Re; @ 4:21- it's like it was a BOMB! Bradley really showed everyone it was a full orchestra; his music always revealed combinations of sounds unheard of almost sounding distorted in the most harmonious way! I second this song is a footprint in history of panorama arrangements!
I love Witco Desperadoes and that was a gem that year.

I thought Renegades won with Bees Melody it was part of their hat trick. Somebody then Iron Man then Bees Melody. Thats what I remember.
