  • Einer der besten Titel einer der besten deutschen Bands - hier brauchbar nachgespielt. Zwei Daumen nach oben.

  • @sEIGu Dankesehr!

  • Wie geil. Endlich mal jemand mit Spliff. Cool.

  • I LIKE this song. I used to play these drums on a 1984 tour, two complete sets. Nice playing as well. Peace!

  • Fantastic job! Please, what SYNTH(s) did you use for this song? Sounds like an older analog, would love to know which one it is! Thank you

  • too bad the song is horrible

  • I use all Zildjian A-Series cymbals. I have a 16" medium thin crash, a 17" thin crash a 21" rock ride, an 18" china low, & 14" new beat high-hats.

  • What kind of cymbals do you use? They sound like Paiste. I play drums & use Zildjian cymbals myself. I don't have an electronic kit but would love to get my hands on an old Simmons 6-piece kit. I grew up during the '80s & love the unique design & sounds of the Simmons drums. Could you do a cover of "One Knight In Bangkok" by Murray Head? That song sounds like a Simmons kit was used on it.

  • @MrBrombomb I used K-Zildjian Brilliant Crashes 16" and 18" and Sabian AAX Studio Hats 14". I have been using these cymbals for about 20 years

  • ''excellent''

  • Awesome kit. Can you find those anywhere anymore??

  • You can find quite a lot in my basement ;-)

Honestly: They are very rare. Sometimes they still apear on Ebay, but you need patience, luck and....money

  • Dickes Kompliment, klasse gemacht !!

  • Ich vermiss die gute alte Zeit.... :(

  • Ciao Wolfgang toll gemacht finde du hast das echt super hin bekommen ich muss es jetzt auch auf mein Simmons testen

    Ciao :-)

  • Well Done! I didn't realize that you played all instruments and sang until after I had watched and then read the video info.

  • Thanks! Well, I was thinking of doing the next video in split screen?!

  • Awesome stuff! You don't have to understand German to enjoy this video.

If you could do a presentation of the Green Day song "Long View," that might get people thinking you could use classic Simmons gear anywhere! He he he!

  • The hi-hats sounds quite electric too....what are they?

    Wolfgang

  • Wo kommt denn das hypsche dominante Pad her? Du hast ja offenbar neben deinen Simmons-Drums auch 'ne Kollektion an nicht ganz unqualitativen Synths =D

  • Great demonstration.

I just got a Simmons SDS 5 module with two pads only. My brother who is drummer lent it to me.

I will check it tomorrow. I can't wait once I saw this vid.

    Best...

    DX5

  • Hello Wolfgang,

I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand SDSV and I ve been found one actually.

I would like to hear your opinion about the weakest point of this machine, what should I test/check when I will probe the drum-machine.

250 Euro is a good price for it (brain+5 pads, nothing else just the cables)

    Best Wishes from Hungary,

    5 stars of course!

  • Except for your voice (obviously) a nice representation! Just keep going!

Very nice Hihat-playing during the chorus.

What did you use for recording? Cubase?

And I would love to know how Spliff resp. Herwig Mitteregger did the fat snare in the original. I assume it would be a very fast echo.

  • Hi and thanks! Yes, I use Cubase (beside a long list of other gear). The SDX is already set up for my next video

  • that snare is nearly identical to the sound in obsession by animotion

  • Right on boss man!

  • Hello,

Very interesting demo of the SDS5.....

The drum sound of most 80's music....

If I am not wrong the Snare sound you use is mostly based on filtered noise with very little tone(VCO) ?

It will be really very interesting to record an other demo playing individual pads with varying dynamic (with flams,rolls.....) whithout music so we can really hear the SDS5 brain.

Thank a lot Thierry EPPHERRE from France,a old drum brain collector (Simmons,Tama,Pearl,Dynacord,Ddrum....)

  • Salut Thierry,

Michael told me about your "research" ;-) I am really really impressed!

Well, another video where I demonstrate the SDSV filters is almost done. The release is scheduled for the beginning of June. Concerning the snare sound you are absolutely right. Only some low pitched tone and more filtered noise

    Best

    Wolfgang

  • Well done and nice shrug!

  • sooo cute!
