  • im 2 dumm 2 make a crossbow and i love crossbows anny1 knows some good blueprints for crossbows on the internet ? please tell me if you know thanks

  • damn, dudes not fucking around. nice homeade : P

  • Well how much pull does it have? Like 80lbs it seems haha, it seemed too easy for you to pull it back...

  • pinta que fik massa

  • pretty cooll for a home made

  • Really bad quality but I think its awesome that you made it and it works fine

  • nice

  • looks more like a bow on a gun than a crossbow

  • dood you didnt make that

  • in which the store sold you the kid crossbows ... LoL

  • This re good as you do

  • what metal did you use for the bow?

  • ok you proballly did make teh wodded handle part.... the compound bow part u obvoslly bought and its not a 150 pound drawback its more like a 15-25 pound i have one just like it

  • amigão, qual madeira vocÊ usou?

  • 150lbs my ass... Even with a pulley given 2 or even 3 to one, that kid couldnt draw it.. also 150 lb draw would DESTROY that xbow...

  • doubt that its homemade

  • @Crazythugnutz taking that as a compliment =) [2]

  • @bsbravati And so you should take it as a compliment. That looks like nice bit of DIY. very impressive!

  • @Crazythugnutz Then make one better and show us yours :D

  • @DemonWeasel1990 well it doesnt look homemade

  • @Crazythugnutz Well that I'll give ya but hell, maybe he just did a really good job!

  • i want that automatic crossbow from mythbusters

  • @Ederr93 I could use a Pse Tac15, if someone feels like giving one to me hahahahahah

  • @Ederr93 repeating crossbow

  • how did you make mehanizam

  • hahah 150lb and you use hand......

  • Ok for all you toughtalking faggots out there le me tell you something. There is a cerrrtian muscle you need to strengthen in order to pull back a bow if you toughtalking little turds think you can pull 150 pounds?? Then you're retarded

  • ok listen all you fucks i was at my friends house and i pulled his bow it was 150 pounds!!!!! i did it once !!!! now shut up !!!!

  • i need to know how to make the trigger frame

  • hahaha, 150 pounds? a kid like you couldnt even pull a 50 pound bow, my das is a 85 and i can just barly pull it back

  • @SinOfYesterd man i can pull back a 150 and im 11you can barly pick up 85 lb.s ??

  • @rockindrumer100 aqhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, i've never seen a comment as pathetic as yours, i'm 15 and been hunting for 2 years. My dad started me on a 50 2 years ago, and i now use my own 90 (just upped the strength for the good ole moose)if you're 11 and can pull back a 150 pound bow (pulling, not lift or push or anything like a retarted little fuck like you would think) then you've done steroids, birth mutations, or just internet toughtlk

  • @rockindrumer100 yeah fucking right. 150 lbs from an 11 year old?

  • cool

  • ha ha this is exactly what i would do to make a crosbow!!!

  • great looking bow but doubt its close to 150 lbs draw thats more than you weigh

  • doubt its close to 150 lbs draw thats more than you weigh

  • what is the wheels on the bow for ? & what do you use for bow string ?

  • sorry can you tell me the size, that is, how long and loud?? then to make the arch that material you used?? thanks

  • sorry can you tell me the size, that is, how long and loud?? then to make the arch that material you used?? thanks

  • Im geussing you bought the bow and cord?? you did a really nice job of the stock though (if you had no previous experience in stock carving) lol your friends dieing when trying to cock it haha :)

  • @CaptainsneakyMk5 the bow is a Kombi van spring and the cord was "sawn" by me, flemish style out of single polyester string... no previous experience in carving, but the second stock I made is pretty superior, as you can see in the video in the link (description). Thanks for commenting =)

  • nice job! how long did it take you to make it?

  • hello I could explain the mechanism of the trigger? please

  • @santeusebio46 believe me, this trigger mechanism isn't worth a dollar, too hard to fire... you can find a better project by searching Sbravati in google sketchup 3D warehouse, that's the project I used in the second crossbow I built!

  • nice has it broken yet? if so how many shots? normally compounds last longer, but it depends on the power

  • @kinicksterhawk dude, I have no clue, but certainly more than three or four hundred... it's been around 2 years since I don't shoot with it anymore, but it's functioning properly, and the bow is 100% =)

since it is a kombi van spring, it was actually built to bear a lot more stress than I apply in it

  • You see, the crossbow is so powerful, it shot, and killed, the quality of this video ;P

  • I don't know if it is just me but that crossbow seemed to look quite good.... how far can it shoot??

  • @jpaufakoning it can shoot more than 200m far, but a fairly precise shot will be at around 30-40m =)

  • show us how d'you make it

  • sweet

  • Nice design man and nice workmanship

  • i want one now :D

  • Yeah deffs knot 150lbs

  • i dont think this is home made :O

  • AWESOME!!!!!!! I WANT 1 TOO !!!

  • it will kill you one time

  • wow idiots like you just want me to become more of a idiot my self :P

  • howmaney fps dose it have and what grain arrow u use

  • Beast. You can see the dang recoil and all. You know, I bet if you did the stock in two seperate pieces and used a couple of air springs between the two bits, you could lessen that recoil a bit. Might make it a little better for shooting. That is some dang nice craftsmenship, though, seeing as it works and all. Great job!

  • Fucking beastly waht did you use man??

  • neato-----compounded crossbowery!!!

  • what is the draw weight

  • @KG12Productions 150 lbs, in the description.

  • To cliffy, I have a 150lb carbon prod crossbow and it DOES have kick back, plenty of recoil actually. It is fairly hard to draw until you get used to it. I can feel the weight in the trigger mechanism when it is released eg. the trigger is not light and mine does not have any cams. It is a recurve crossbow. Cheers trexmadman.

  • @trexmadman you're right! It's not easy to pull, all my friends almost die trying to cock it... but as you said, you get used to it! =)

  • Holy crap, that is the awesomest crossbow i have ever seen!!! How did you pull off the internal mechanism? Where did you get the plans? (And of course the next obvious question) Would you share them with the rest of the class?

  • Samba??? it's a crime against the samba.

  • that's intense :D

  • its cool, say know more

  • that's not homemade

  • @degu122 taking that as a compliment =)

  • @bsbravati yea it looks very good

  • @bsbravati you should. its a great cross bow

  • How does that trigger mechanism work?

    But 150lbs? sure not.

    But still super awsome crossbow!

The best homemade crossbow on youtube!

  • @redsfriendhump crossbow trigger mechanisim into google images

  • ha... are you serious, for a start crossbows don't have kick back. as for the draw wieght 150lb no way man you would break ur fuken back if you pulled 150lb crossbow like that. and unless that had offset cams and a three piece trigger you would find it hard to pull the trigger. also most modern crossbows do have offset cams to release some energy on the trigger mechanisim. so it would only be holding about 55% of the original draw wieght.

  • @cliffy4418 suuure... no kick back! 0.8 kg of steel going foward really fast won't give a kick back! linear momentum, center of mass, heard 'bout?!

55% of original draw weight on your BOW, you freak, crossbows work differently, by the way, if you haven't noticed, these are centric...

maan, go study a little bit!

I hate all you guys that read a couple of articles and think you are THE man on archery

want complete explanations? read the commentaries below

  • @bsbravati have you ever done archery proffesionaly? i shot for australia in the trans tasmin against newzealand.

you think by making a crossbow (which by the way is easy) it makes you know everything!!!

ok maby not 55% but around 60% and i'm not saying that you don't have round cams,

  • @cliffy4418 never did archery professionaly, resources won't help! But think about it man: -1st it would be hard to pull the trigger and it is, that's why it is a 4 finger trigger, did a better project in the second crossbow; -2nd why would you lower the draw to 60%, you would only lose energy when doing the integration of the curve strenghtXdraw, and there's no reason to lower it since the trigger is holding the string, not your arm. You can see that by the angle of cocked crossbow cams.

  • no,,, he said modern crossbows. not his BOW

  • @cliffy4418 your a fucking dumb ass let see you make one that good (the best iv seen in youtube btw) why did you even bother saying anything just shut up no one wants to know you or listen to wat crap you have to say archery my ass your just some loser that cant do anything in life go kill your self NOW THAT A GREAT IDEA fuck off loser

  • @bsbravati actually a properly made crossbow puts all of the energy in one direction

as for the specifics i.e. trigger stuff that is custom in modern day crossbows just like a modern m-16 can be costumed to almost any purpose.

a modern day bow should not have kick back, but if there was sloppy work it probably will.(also it will if the arrow is not the proper type, weight, and length

    historical crossbows have no kick

    and modern bows a aluminum

  • @jinnd319 dude, don't be such a dumbass... a "properly made crossbow" won't break physics law, only 'coz it was properly made... stupid example: punch foward with both arms, your body will have a "kick back". The only way not to have a kick back would be sth like the twinbow, or the leopro (horton's recon) where the resultants of the bow's acceleration nullify themselves. You can lessen it if you use lighter bows, not my case and even heavier on historical crossbows. Feel sorry for ppl like you

  • crap srry

i ment no significant recoil as compared to a gun

wooden crossbows don't have as much recoil as the new metal crap

    just disregard the last comment.

case and point cannon vs. chinesse giant triple bow crossbow(according to history channel)

and yes you should feel srry for people that go into physics next year

  • @bsbravati What did you use for the string?

  • @bsbravati it does in a way dude just like a bow it wont waist the energy on all the flex of the string

  • @jinnd319 I love giving fingers down to the people like your represent, bots, stupid asses that believe in random insult generators and random sentence generators. Such a turd in all rights you are. bsbravati made his own crossbow, it was handmade, so why should your opinions matter to him? He made such a great replica of a crossbow its fine beta, alpha prototypes. bsbravati loves to put down people that like to make their own shit. I feel very sorry for you sir, now GTFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @oddsource shut up

what the fuk do you even mean. and ps that was not my opinion.

and you can't through people out of the internet.

now go be a good little boy and rub your mommys feet

  • @jinnd319 Ever heard of Newtons law? ... Idiot

  • @ModernWin yes

    every heard of sig. figs

    douche

  • @jinnd319 "Every positive action has an equal reaction"

You tried to argue against an already established point in Physics.

What about significant figures? What the fuck do they have to do with anything, or are you trying to compensate for your stupidity by naming spurting random gibberish in an attempt to appear 'smart'...

Do yourself a favour and start school all over, dumb ass.

  • @ModernWin yeah launching a bolt will defiantly cause a significant recoil

    shut up moron

"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction"

is that what you failed quoting.

a bolt has how much mass? and the force of gravity makes that weigh how much

really the crossbow is made well there should be very little recoil

    less recoil than a gun.

no shut up and go learn a new trick

    Start by fuking yourself

  • @jinnd319 Quoting you: "a modern day bow should not have kick back,"

Hmm, idiot, at least I know my basics of Physics... Making a bow 'well' doesn't change jack shit, you still haven't got this crap into your thick skull, have you?

OFCOURSE there will be less recoil than a gun, a gun fires with 10x more force than a crossbow.

Gravity has nothing to do with the recoil of a crossbow, where the fuck did you pull that one out of? Your dads ass?

  • @ModernWin so you agree that i'm right about that

and again that has been settled.

  • @jinnd319 Also, on your point about the mass of the bolt... The lighter the bolt = the more recoil... the heavier the bolt = the less recoil. Common physics again, canceling forces and etc.

Again with the random attempt at appearing knowledgeable when you're clearly not, mentioning gravity for no reason just as you mentioned sig. figs.

IDIOT. How about you fuck your dead father?

  • @ModernWin dude shut up

my point is that crossbows don't have a significant amount of recoil

    Now fuk off man

really why the fuk are you argueing with something settled.

and the more gravity the lesser distance the bolt travels

go shove your hand in a one molar vat of Nitric acid

  • @jinnd319 No, your point is modifying crossbows can decrease the ammount of recoil. Idiot, you make stupid points then ignore them completely when you realise you're wrong, and it's obvious the more gravity the lesser the distance traveled, but since when did gravity increase in force? Another fucking false statement, idiot, just shut your mouth and suck your dads dick, all you're doing is making yourself appear even more stupid.

  • @ModernWin i never fucking said that gravity increased force.

and further more if you read my last comment that that was my point completely

no go get a damn life and stop arguing things that have been settled for a year.

Your so much of a dumb ass that you would argue the Lincoln administration is ruining the economy.

YOU FANTASIZE ABOUT ME SUCKING MY DADS DICK WHILE TOUCHING YOURSELF(and my dad is dead so obviously i don't suck it)

  • @jinnd319 You said that gravity increased IN force by saying:

"and the more gravity the lesser distance the bolt travels"

Gravity does not increase in force at any time on Earth. How did I guess that your dad was dead? Oh idk, maybe because every other no life nerd online says that their dad/mom is dad in defense of themselves - doesn't make me feel and worse, I don't give a shit. You're not right about your original point, you only corrected what you said after 3 ppl told you so. Idiot.

  • @ModernWin gravity slows the bolt

if you fired a bolt off on Jupiter then it wouldn't go as far dumbass

also this was taken care of by the maker of the video

and since my point wasn't about earth...

no stop being a fucktard and go fuck yourself.Douche

less distance traveled does not mean more force. and gravity would affect the distance traveled on earth if it weren't a constant.Suck it

  • @jinnd319 Stop spewing out random gibberish, you've already made it clear that you're dumb. I'm going to stop replying to you, okay? Have a nice life being an idiot.

  • @ModernWin so you admit defeat then

i think you've made it clear that you can't argue with me because your not smart enough.

    Suck it loser.

  • @jinnd319 I admit defeat? How can I admit defeat when I haven't actually engaged?

No, I just don't have time to reply to you any longer, I've got a life. I highly doubt that you are smarter than me, you'd be better of staying quite.

  • @ModernWin haven't engaged eh

so now your going home to cry to mommy

    have fun with that

and yes i am much more intelligent than you will ever be

  • @jinnd319 BURRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he jus dicked you FOOOOLLL try to use scientific mumbojumbo on this kid...he kicked ur asss.....good video man

  • fucking awesome bitch!!!!!

  • how did u made the bow?

  • hahahahahahaha

you're pulling it up when you shoot it it's totaly visible

  • @justmarinus you bet! (y)

  • very very nice!

  • dats the best home made cross bow ive seen on youtube

  • obviously not 150 pound pull if you can pull it ur self, but nice crossbow.. i just think u should get more accurate with your measure

  • use your brain dude,

150lb only in trigger, it increasingly becomes tougher as the strings goes up

it's a centric pulley, which gives you an "linear" strenght X deformation,

agressive cams and eccentric pulleys will give you a non-linear graphic, that reaches its peak a lot faster

you guys should study a little bit of compound archery physics before writing bullshit

  • I don't think you know what your talking about man, when a compound bow is fully pulled back it cuts the draw weight in half. There for it couldn't be no 150lb on the trigger.

  • that is only truth for bows man...

in crossbows, there is no reason to cut draw weight in half, since the trigger will hold the string, not you. If you do so, you will lose a lot of fps

analize some cocked crossbows and some full draw bows, pay attention to the angle of the pulley or cam and you'll see that you don't know what you are talking about

  • sorry man i just cant see 150lb's on that cross bow.

  • what did you use for the .. like thing that hold the strings in the ends ? wood wont work i know.. metal? wont bend i think?

  • clothspin! lola big one thats metal tho

  • 150lbs my butt

  • nicee onee :-oo

  • Awesome-i know its really 150lbs.i used a 46inch ford spring and need a boat winch to draw the damn thing.awesome design and the trigger menhanism looks really good. Also, the springs can be bought on eay for about 30dollars u.s.sweet crossbow

  • what limbs did u use?

  • Wow. Very powerfull and WELL made !!!

  • i would of laughed if the arrow just shot backwards and shot thru the camera

  • now get some broadHEADS AND GO SHOOT ALL THE DOGG AND CATS IN A 9 BLOCK RADIUS.

  • People like you sicken me, including the ones who gave that comment a thumbs up....

  • I toltally agree with you, thumbs up for your comment.

  • @blanchbacker who sickens you?

  • how did you build the trigger system

  • search Sbravati in sketchup's 3D warehouse ;-)

  • whats the spring made of?

  • holy crap dude

  • 2 years man!

Still the best homemade crossbow on YouTube

    Congrats!

  • Thanks dude! =)

  • what material do you use for the 'bow'?

    nice vid!

  • it is steel spring from a car (Kombi van) suspension system... the cross section is 3x30mm, one and a half bar

  • urs is awsome

  • nice crossbow

  • 150 lb draw? are u serious?

  • That's nothing compared to some longbows.

  • gotta remember our powerstroke is half your's

so we need to compensate the same accel. in "half" the time taken...

an equivalent would be a compound 55-65 lb modern compound bow...

you mean a wood prod longbow?

  • oh yeah 3 mm (0.03cm).. i just reduced 0.6 mm from each side..its almost the same as you told me because myn has a thicker measurment in the middle.. i attatched he pulleys and worked great...now what i need to do is attach the bow and the stock together and i m ready =]

  • i got a maruti leaf spring,,, its so stiff!! i cant move it....yours seems pretty flexible , what should i do??

  • man, it's not flexible, it's pretty hard, can't barely move it with your hands, it appears to be more flexible by means of the pulley system... try placing a single string and pull it up, if you don't succedd, you consider using a pulley system...

the cross section of these one is 3x30mm, in the center part it has two layers of spring... what are the measures of yours' cross section? and how long it is? (this one is 630mm)

  • myn measures: 880mm in length, 50mm in width and the thickness is 0.3mm going up to 0.6mm in the middle (im trying to get it all 0.3 mm)

  • you mean 3 mm right? or 0.3 cm?

I think you should reduce the 50 mm to 25 mm, leaving 50 mm in the center, and going down to 30 mm in the tips, easier than reducing the thickness, which will be very hard to do perfectly

and this reduction that I described will help to distribute the tension along the bow.

    what do you say?

  • remove some metal or make extensions ?

  • if the bow is with a low tension when you cock the crossbow?

    i'd tell you:

1st - Try to string the bow tougher, that is, shorten the string... if that does not solve your problem then

2nd - Remove a little bit of the tips of the bow... Coz an extension is harder to be done perfectly

  • srry out of chars ok the fibreglass backings i use are just from old skis. ive made entire bows and crossbows just out of skiis and it works better than some of the fibreglass ive baught. if you wanna see a finished one il post a link. someone just stole my idea its not mine.

umm could you please post a tutorial on how to make your weel cams work? anyways i tried to make a dual cam crossbow but it didnt work. umm are you into compound bow archery? and what did you use for the fibre glass?

  • ...Since I'm in Brazil, no skis =( this one is steel spring from a car suspension system, and in my other vid, it is 14mm diam. solid sticks, which showed themselves veeery though... I'm more into "ballestery" and the excentric pulleys do work, and I figured it entirely out alone, bet you can do it too! it's all about using 3 strings, the excentricity and the angles =)

I've already built 3 bows, 2 of them are compound, but i prefer crossbows...

do you have vids on those works? =D

  • umm i have a few things to say about this 1 dont let your neighbors know your doing that in your back yard because it is illegal inside any city limits in any state or province except texas. alright? just a tip. and could you please post a design for the trigger i have been making wood crossbows for acouple months now and have been a bowyer for about a year. if you would like to make one use red oak red maple cherry willow etc for bendy woods. back the bow with linen cloth or fibre glass.

  • ok dude, but I'm in Brazil, and I've already checked the list of controlled products, the R-105 list, so there's no problem, it's legally treated like a air gun ;-)

search bsbravati in sketchup's 3D warehouse for the trigger...

i'm a crossbowmaker for 4 years, and I am a huuge fan of steel and fiberglass, unfortunately wood doesn't have the acceleration needed for a crossbow, since we work with short powerstrokes... I do know the techniques for a wood prod, but don't feel like doing them =/

  • lol i made a mini compound crossbow out of popsicle sticks, and buttons for the cams (the pulleys)

  • great, now what r u gunna do for the next half ur life

  • hey bsbravati, nce crossbow =] btw, are the pulleys just normal round pulleys couse ive been searching and found that some pulleys are not perfectly round...if you can, check my crossbow and give some suggestions =]

  • both crossbows have round pulleys, this one has a centric axis, and uses a single continuous string...

on the other one I use a round pulley too, but its axis is excentric, with two trails and you have to put pins in the pulley and use three separate strings (it was a hell of a job to figure all this out by myself)

  • and it works like a cam - which is this not round pulley you said - but cams are expensive!

this one still gives a speed boost, pushing more string in the final moment of the arrow acceleration, and you can make it with nylon 6.6 technyl...

but for a pulley to be useful you gotta have a really strong bow, otherwise it will only make a weak bow even weaker...

i'd tell you to first go after car steel spring, make a more reliable trigger and a stronger stock, theeen think about a pulley...

    =)

  • yeah i m making another crossbow . the bow is made up of 3 layers of cherry wood and 3 layers of fiberglass. its still getting dry and i hope the raisin would stick to the wood =S..i thing im not going for the pulleys

  • maaannn!

I admire you, working with wood gives a hell of a job... It has an incredible look!!

but i'd like to warn you that it will probably not reach the acceleration of a steel spring or a pure fiberglass bow... 'coz the powerstroke is way to short for it to reach higher speeds... =/

I hope it will give you good results!

    good luck!!

  • Comment removed

  • omg after that much work i pulled it a lot and snapped =[ but im trying to find the steel spring but i have a problem which one is should use // from the small ones or the tall ones??

  • sorry, i didn't really understand your question... but i'll try to answer:

so that you won't need pulleys, i'd tell you to use one and a half spring measuring: 3x30x600mm and 3x30x300mm each... that would be the "old" bettle steel spring... and leave the trail (stock) longer (50 cm), so that when you have the bow, you'll be able to measure your pull and theeen cut it in the right measure ;-)

good luck in finding the steel spring!

and what a pity for the wood, must be a hell of a job lost =/

  • hey everyone. dont know if u remember me but im that guy who was gona make a lever action crossbow. ive finished the desingn. it is, i think the crossbow perfected. i will not give any details cos im afraid someone will steal my ideas. i have just started making it today the first one. it wont have a lever on it just yet. lol its taken me ages to desingn and think about it but its gona be wicked!

  • for what its worth i think its good what are u using for bow string

  • uh did it hit the table?

  • "still looks like a small childs bow to me"

then you don't know anything about archery... study a little bit, search and read, will ya?

i just suppose you say this all coz' you can't do sth like that at your age, while I was only 16 when I did this one...

and check my 2nd crossbow on the link ->

see if you still find it similar to a "small childs bow"

anyway, only a stupid crossbow maker would use a 1,5 meter "adult" bow, so that the weight and the torque wouldn't even let you aim steadly...

  • look like he used a small childs compound bow on the front and a gate lever for triger i guess just by looking ?

  • i guess a small childs compound bow cannot tresspass a 3 cm thick wood...

and WTF BOW you say, can't you think first that a BOW needs a RISER, for you to hold with your hand, since it does NOT have a STOCK...

and this do not have anything that could even look like a riser!

can't you see that they are one and a half steel springs and not fiberglass?

how can you be so dumb?!? gee!

also, compound bows use CAMS, not centric pulleys...

even a "small child" could tell the difference "just by looking"

  • Comment removed

  • oh yeah

  • This is the best homemade crossbow i have seen!!!!! I am making a crossbow for a uni project about projectile velocity and was wondering if you could please make a tutorial? please any help would be appreciated.!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks from GuitarLegend149

  • jigsaw/bandsaw and sandpaper... i'm just throwing those out there and i turn wrenches i'mnot a carpenter.. it seems completely do-able with enough time...
