Just thought i would comment cos your wrong, a ball wont open a modern car but car locks are all different. Very old cars first fitted with central locking used an air compression system to work, so a strong rush of air would trigger the compressor to opening all the locks. But after 6 months production of the escort a recall was made after alot of thefts and the system was changed to a more expensive electric motor!
