y Chiweenie is awesome. I love big dogs but this has to be the best dog that I have ever had. He is a lap dog and he is VERY clingy, but we love it. We had a little trouble training him to pee outside the first few months but after he was trained, he was the perfect dog. He doesn't bark much. Only when someone knocks at the door. He is always cold so loves to be under the blankets. TINY IS AWESOME!!
my chiweenie eats almost anything. Sticks, bugs, her food, the cat's food, she jumps on the table when no-one is looking and eats buffet style. Any suggestions?

@AngelTransport Try associating her potty training with a phrase or word. You'll need to watch her at first for sighs of her needing to go. Be persistent with putting her on a potty pad or taking her out. give her a treat hen she does so too! I got a chiweenie nearly 3 weeks ago and she's going on her own all the time. also for the crying don't get her while she's whining. wait for her to calm down then praise her, hold her, and all that. All I have to say is that this video couldn't of explained the Chiweenie any better! I have had a Chiweenie for over 2 years now, and he is a snuggler at night, and it is hard to house break him he STILL has accidents and he is 2 years old, its mostly my fault for not training him very well when he was younger. But all around this is a great dog to have. If your lazy dont get this dog they are high energy!
We just rescued a 3 year old female && I am happy to say she hasn't inherited the barking or house breaking problems. Shes suck a good dog!! She does have this thing where she can't run like a normal dog though... She hops when she does any speed over a walk. Had anyone else seen this? She's heathy & doesn't seem to bother her.

Babying them makes dogs neurotic, mean..& dominant...so his actions are more b/c of what she's done..not b/c he's naturally that way. Not speaking bad of her, many ppl do the same thing. We just got a chiweenie from the shelter & he's awesome. When he does bark..I agree that it's loud..but he rarely barks. He's well socialized & rather mellow. He's very content to lay at my feet after a game of fetch & just chill.
These people they are interviewing don't know squat. My Chiweenie was the easiest dog to house train Ive ever owned in my 53 years. This is my first small dog and I am very impressed. He listens to every word I say and he's smart too. He knows a lot of words and commands. I think you just have to give them your time and they respond great and will do anything asked from them. Great Dogs!
We have experienced very little of what the video says to watch out for. Our boy is an amazing dog. We got him at 4 months old. He was potty trained in about a week with only 3 accidents in the house. We have a doggie door and he loves it. He can get easily scared when he hears noises he isnt used to but is very trainable. He has no medical issues.

What a cute little face they have.The one i met loved me because he always waited at the fence for me to pet him.And on easter he escaped and waited at the door for me.There so quiet and friendly.They dont bark much because the only thing he barked at was squirrels.He chased them and they ran for their lifes! Although there were problems with potty training and barking, I wouldn't trade her for the world. She is so loving, and eager to please. I love her!

We rescued our Chiweenie Ella from a kennel in Mallorca. In Spain, dogs in kennels are put to sleep after three weeks because nobody wants them. She is really quiet and never barks! She loves to play with tuffed animals and hide treats somewhere in the couch. I love this dog and in my opinion this is the best dog breed!

I have a three-legged chiweenie and he is so smart and my little man. I love him! I would recommend a chiweenie to a family without children, as children seem to disturb him. If you want one and have kids, get them used to children early. :)
Actually I adopted him from the pound, he was 3 years old when I got him, not potty trained and had been severely neglected and sitting in the pound with a double ear infection for over 3 weeks. He has become a wonderful pet and I wouldn't change him for anything.

When I got my dog I never really knew exactly what his breed was but me and my mom saw this and we thought it was so cool that we finally knew what breed he was. Haha.

Our chiweenie was pretty easy to haouse break and usually is good about not barking without a reason but one thing the video had right is when he does bark it's really loud.

My Chiweenie is amazing. Was easily house broken, doesn't bark often (except for when someone new comes into the house) and is great with my nieces and nephews. Only problems i've had is with his chewing. But not all dogs are the same.

We got a chiweenie a few months ago, and for the longest time, we thought he was a chihuahua. I thought the going under the bed covers and barking was just part of his personality, I didn't know that it was all in the genes.

We rescued our Chiweenie Ella from a kennel in Mallorca. In Spain, dogs in kennels are put to sleep after three weeks because nobody wants them. She is really quiet and never barks! She loves to play with tuffed animals and hide treats somewhere in the couch. I love this dog and in my opinion this is the best dog breed!

my chiweenie was actually very relaxed, she loved to sleep, but she also loved to explore and had the most off-key howl. she was very agressive.

I'm on my husbands account and our chi weenie loves to snuggle and sit on our laps. My husband has her train to where he just snaps his fingers and she jumps in his lap lol.

We rescued our CW at 9 mos. old from animal control. He never barks without reason. House broken in a week. He is 4 years old now with no medical issues. He is the sweetest, cutest, funniest guy ever. We love him to death. Go rescue a dog please.

I just got a chiweenie, and she is 14 weeks. She does not bark, or win! She is so quit, and did not cry on her first night at my place. she is amazing.

i got my chiweenie from the pound and she didnt seen to have a bathroom problem (think god for puppy pads). starlett love to jump from bed to bed more when she's play with her boyfriend. she very very funny loves dress and going out. i have some videos of her come check it out

When they said "They're not a lap dog", I got confused... My chiweenie is in my lap... She's really funny. One of her ears sticks up, and one hangs down.

My chiweenie is a lap dog too. He is very energetic, but I don't agree with their comment that they aren't lap dogs. They are some of the most affectionate dogs around.

@LDKW98 i do they are just playing and i will hurt sometimes i understand just scold them and if they start playing nice scratch them in their favorite spot and tell them good repetidly
favorite spots in a chiweenie:
1.right before the tail starts
2.belly
3.ears be careful they get eare infections really easy so ALWAYS dry them out after a bath or a swim or even a boat ride

I have a three-legged chiweenie and he is so smart and my little man. I love him! I would recommend a chiweenie to a family without children, as children seem to disturb him. If you want one and have kids, get them used to children early. :)

Actually I adopted him from the pound, he was 3 years old when I got him, not potty trained and had been severely neglected and sitting in the pound with a double ear infection for over 3 weeks. He has become a wonderful pet and I wouldn't change him for anything.
