@WPRR1: Last I checked, AAR channel 27, 160.515 MHz, Omaha Dispatcher 10. There was a dispatcher territory change recently, so it might be different now.
Damn These SD-70ACe's Alway's Sound Sweet,Awesome,Sick,Good,Wicked, etc.......and the 1st One Look's BRAND NEW..........with the Sun Hitting Hit.....
@theUPman100 You're right! EMDs are very powerful pullers and rarely slip. GEs are notorious for slipping, especially the AC6000CW. Thats why CSX added additional weight to theirs. The best thing about GE is the chugging and its no secret that a new GE will rock you to sleep on a road freight. They ride better than a new cadillac! No exaggeration!
Don't ask me why, but I like the look of the SD70ACe the best of all EMD wide cabs. All those notches and radiators and things on them. They look very aggressive.
damn lucky, thats what you are! i wanna see an ACe. i've only seen one, and it was CSX, but it went by too fast to catch it with the camera to tell what it was
well, i live between nashville and Chattanooga, but heres the thing, the UP, BNSF, and NS all go through chattanooga, but never come my way. the CP is about 100 miles to the north of where i live, but never goes through my town. i am now convinced i am being mocked by someone up in the afterlife
I purposely went to Portola on my summer vacation and rode my Harley all the way thru the Feather River Canyon just to see the trains traverse the beautiful scenery. Guess what? Never saw one train.
The two locomotives are EMD SD70ACe's. The easiest way to know is to look up their numbers, which is clearly visible in the video. Shape of the cab is another easy way to tell they are SD70ACe's.
"Shape of the cab is another easy way to tell they are SD70ACe's"....You also have to watch cause the UP SD70M's cab nose is "ALMOST" like an ACe nose....;)...Great video :)....Thanks for sharing....
Do you have any idea what the scanner frequencies are there? I can't find them anywhere.

@MultiHornguy: The M5 you heard is from the background. SD70ACe #8570 has a pretty crisp K5LLA.

If you don't have a bass unit for your audio you're missing out on this vid! Get the Bose companion 3 that's what I have and it shakes the room!

wow. excellent audio. what kind of equipment did u use for this?
coinman1972 3 years ago
No special equipment, just a 10 year old bulky RCA 8mm video camera. It does have large microphones, which might have helped.
