i dont know why but after i made the shine effect i got this weird red spot in the middle of my blast and it shoots 4 red line to 4 derections and i have no idea how to get rid of it. please help me it drives me crazy

Hey man. I have CS5, and the same thing with "Mask Path" replacing "Mask Shape",

but once I make the beam, that shape stays and does not go back into the ball when i go back to see the preview from the begining.

@Diego32320 i found a easier way go to effects on the white solid then stylize then click glow then choose colors A and B then go to glow colours then choose colors A and B hope this helped.

ok now for some reason.. the shimmering size was scaled to the balls size.. i mean when the ball is big the shimmering is good.. u now like going out of screen.. but when its small like at the beginning is like the rays fit in an invisible square.. :s i guess it is because of the layers size.. but i made it double the size of the video just like u did.. =( is there a way to make the solid bigger? without changing the blast size? cause i dont want to do everything all over again..

@LordEizen Hey I figured out the problem... You might have to do it again.

When you first make your white solid make it a lot bigger then your footage.

But you could try and copy and paste the frames, that worked for me.

for those of you who didnt find the Add thingy.. go down to the left where it says ''Toggle Switches / Modes'' click that and then you can the mode from Normal to Add =D

still.. i created a circle and im holding down ctrl and shift but it doesnt move to the middle

then use the anchor point settings move thing to move it to the middle. It should be right above position.

How do you get your shimmer to fill the entire composition? Mine is only filling a quarter of it until the blast solid layer gets bigger.

Shine is an external plugin that you have to buy separately.

I cant get anyt Kamehameha tutorial to work correctly, it messes up at the part where you pull the beam out from the ball. I have the keyframes all set up and when I pull the beam out from the ball it changes the shape of the ball from the previous layers to having the beam out aswell.

you're doing it wrong then. Make sure you know how keyframes work. FOLLOW THIS EXACTLY, CLICK FOR CLICK.

Don't forget to keyframe the Mask shape.

So if I have the camera start where the guy doing the beam is and the moving and then move the camera to his enemy in the same shot, I should not use this tutorial? Because what I just edited (Another shot) looks just terrible o.o

no, you still can use it. You just have to start a new after effects project and edit them both separately. and put them together in an EDITING software like premiere, vegas, or windows movie maker.

After effects is a visual effects software which is for doing effects for EACH separate clip.

yea you do. Right click that area, and then click on view or show, and then click on modes.

Or just right click on your layer, and then click blending mode, and then go down to "Add"
