  • I have a model almost finished and id like to send it though email so you could give me some tips on it.

  • yeah you can use autocad or solidworks for the job, and have to pay several hundered dollars for the program and a licence when google sketchup is free to download and use, and while can be a little touchier then inventor or solidworks is fully usable

  • Just a question...how do you make the PDFs out of the 3d model ?

  • @MrBaufritz unflatten

  • @MrBaufritz Sorry, unfold

  • Sketchup is really nice, but it can get really annoying sometimes when you delete a surface and can't make it come back. lol

  • You should do a tutorial on designing planes in sketchup

  • can you make a video of how to design the F-35 and the F-22 easybuilds?

    thanks so much

  • Tried using it but had problems with the below. Can you do a walk thru on these points?

    -Tracing 3 views

-Figuring out how to get the tabs to fit together

    -Unflatten

    Thanks!

  • can you make a better video than this one explaining how you design a plane from start to finish? I know its a lot to ask but I think it would be invaluable us that want to learn how to use google sketchup

  • I'd subscribe and watch a series on designing planes on sketch up

  • @MGCairtraffic I too would "SUBSCRIBE" and brow beat them for EVERY word they said wrong and EVERY little detail they do differnet than me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I would then buy the exact oppiste they tell me to get and then come back to them and DEMAND they help me set it up

AND IF THEY DON'T I will tell everyone what BAD SERVICE they have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @iflybythebook2 Uhhh?? what´s your problem? :-(

  • rc powers would go far if you did tutorials on making an rc plane

  • hey cool planes. I was wondering if you could make a video on how you make one of these planes from the beginning and also tell me what type of foam it is you make these planes out of

  • @aatspeed90 he makes it out of depron, the skeleton is made up of carbon fibers which provide the strength to depron without compromising with weights.

  • One of the best videos I've seen on this channel. Thanks!

  • The one thing that makes Sketchup worth trying is the price. Free versus thousands of dollars. There are also many free tutorials.

  • very helpful

  • Great info, I am a user of solidworks and yes, for doing some simple foldable plans could be tedious. Gonna try this "ketchup" thing and see how it goes. Thanks for the great videos!

  • Thanks a lot! I needed it!

  • @Imbefuddeled well each have their own method but depending on how one use it ... it could be pretty effective if u prefer the higher tech stuff then thats what u prefer but if u prefer the low tech stuff then thats ok too as long as it works

  • nice one - SketchUp is indeed a good tool :)

  • Great heads up Scott and i'd like to see more video's on this subject ;-) thumbs up.

  • @Nintendo101maniac @dontcare80 the free version is v.7.0 and will not open the files here, need version 8.0

  • @Kitemasters Nope, you can get 8.0 for free as well.

I wish I could get version 7 back, I upgraded to 8 before I realized that I would loose the ability to import AutoCAD files, it's sort of maddening.

  • @idontcare80 not for 8 hours of unlimited use. ?? i use rhino btw the best :)

  • @Kitemasters I think you can try Sketchup Pro for 8 hours, but the base version of Sketchup is free for unlimited use.

  • GOOGLE!

  • wooo SOLIDWORKS

  • also lok at shechyphysics it is free and vou can make the rudder and that move in the model

  • Thumbs up if your the 304 viewer. By the way nice video; but I mostly go for paper and pencil, even though Google SU is a very easy tool to use.

  • You guys are awesome! I have been working on a "foamy" for about a week now in Sketchup and was wishing I had some servo and motor dimensions. Having the models for those parts already made is very helpful. Thanks.

  • I thought you said it's free!? It says you have to buy it!

  • @Nintendo101maniac There is a free version. Sketchup Pro is not free.

  • Try pro engineer. Key tech (and pioneer middle school for Cad) use it to create digital objects. I recomend you get the school version cause the real one takes up 20 something computers I'm working on the B-2 spirit bomber right now. Messed up a little so it'll probably look like someone in india trying to make a replica of what they heard it looks like (and do a very good job visualizing it)

  • Noit bad for a vid that I thought was gonna be g-a-why did the chicken cross the road??? :-D

  • You are so Jedi

  • I just go ahead and wing it

  • nice try.

  • Auto CAD ftw! Designed my school's robotics team's robot in it ^^

  • @ww007ka Yeah i was going to say why dont they use a cad program so many more options than sketup.

  • @Imbefuddeled im sure if you pay him enough, he will let you give him a happy ending

  • I have used it on and off for a while and am trying to get good, I am going to try just sitting down and trying over and over, do you think it will work?

  • i thought you were going to say it take a day to download

but i cant get it to download for me says error

  • @TheKrazydreams use different browser

  • can you show us some tings on google sketchup? i have it but i have so much trouble working with it. so far i have only been able to make some kinda cool looking lightsabers. lol

  • @rccrazer Just use practice trust me! it took me about 3 months to learn sketchup well myself!

  • @rccrazer There are tons of video tutorials on the Google website. On the Sketchup page go to the training section and click on video tutorials. There are also quite a few videos here on YouTube.

  • whos in charge of the company? i mean, wasnt it dave or what? not that i dont like the new dude, its just it changed so much

  • lol

    XD

did google just pay for you to make this advertisement<< srr just a dumb joke

SKETCHUP THE BEST i use it everywhere...

  • You guys should invest in a laser cutter!

  • @stoogepenguin they have one, they dont use it for PDF plans

  • I use SolidWorks because I got it for free ^_^

  • Sweet.

  • nice

  • omg lots of vids all at once

  • Sketch up is good for foam planes, but when it comes to balsa wood ones I prefer pro engineer
