I live in Massachusetts. Str8 guys don't really bash here; They have better things to do. The song is remixed for Europe, Asia, and Oz- not specifically for gay clubs where guitar isn't focused on as much as the lead instrument, and there's no country heritage that's as prevalent as the US (Oz has a sizeable one). They might play it elsewhere.
