...and while it does say no magician has been able to perform the entire rope trick (with the boy disappearing or getting cut up or whatever) it is still an impressive trick.

As technology and engineering have allowed for people to do that particular section of the trick differently, it doesn't change what "The Indian Rope Trick" is or how it was done historically...which was the focus of this video.

I do believe there is a possibility that in many cases people may not be stating the facts but exaggerating. I had actually witnessed such a response when I was about 10 years old. A street magician claimed he would levitate a body covered by a long lowing black cloth to a height of a banyon tree at the end of the show. Three days I waited till the end so I could see from below how the body looked inside the covering, all in vain. But heard people who did not wait that long confirm his claim

The actually trick HISTORICALLY was the one I described and DID explain how it was done. Since then there have been MANY people to adjust the trick to the parts they could pull off, but without the ENTIRETY of the trick...it's NOT "The Indian Rope Trick."

Ive actually looked around youtube and found a penn and teller video in which a questionable looking rope is used but as soon as the boy climbed a couple of centimeters he went down, then I found another video in which they explained that the rope has a mechanism inside that makes it stay up

As technology and engineering have allowed for people to do that particular section of the trick differently, it doesn't change what "The Indian Rope Trick" is or how it was done historically...which was the focus of this video.
