What books/websites would you recommend for getting started with turning metal? I wan't to buy a lathe and start making miniature models, I did some basics in school but nothing major. Is it something you can learn by trial and error or do you really want a solid knowledge before you start doing major work?
i like the fact that this project exploits the misalignment of two hole drilled from opposite ends...i sur can make those.especially with my 4 jaw...chuckle..
Awesome idea! I plan on making some of these as soon as I get my lathe (fairly soon!) All your videos are great, I really enjoy all the projects and ideas you have created as well as all the tips and advice you pass along to other machinists. Please keep up the good work!
Thanks for the encouragement. I wasn't sure anyone would be interested in the techniques and tools. I have more fun making the tools than anything else. Good luck with the lathe. I think you will really enjoy it.
