  • Guinness is tastes it's best, and tastes proper in Dublin, and that's that

  • It's really bitter and a bit sour. Doesn't taste like chocolate or coffee at all

  • @seanchenn its not at all meant to fuckface

  • An excellent brew, but it can't touch Fuller's London Porter for overall flavour.

  • i drank it out of a bottle and it tasted like water. water with a little bit of bitterness. i think there was something wrong with the batch

  • @djhc123 I find that the Guinness Draught has becomes more and more bland over the years. It also might have something to do with just trying better beers in the years since I first had Guinness, but who knows. I remember it being much, much better than it currently is.

  • @elharlock I find it watery too unless I drink a good mouthful at a time. I think having some of the stronger craft brews make it seem much weaker than it is. I still like it a lot but these days I lean toward Highland's Black Mocha Stout. Much more chocolate and coffee flavor for my tastes. Guinness is a beer I get for something easy to chug and get a buzz quick

  • @elharlock I'd say that guinnes is a fantastic beer, but it IS actually rather bland.. but bland in a nice way.. Lots of people seem to think "oh, it's dark.. I won't like it.. it'll be like drinking mud" but it isn't, it's actually far more "drinkable" than many generic lagers out there.. BUT, there is a HUGE difference between the stuff you get canned or bottled and the stuff from the tap in Ireland. oh yeah, pardon my English, I'm Norwegian.

  • @djhc123 was it the draught or the extra stout?

  • @samm1809 It was the draught. at the time i figured it was just some over-rated piss like Corona Extra. im from NZ...so is it common for guinness to taste like muddy water outside of europe?

  • @djhc123 haha well I'm from Aus so as you can imagine i wouldn't know. I'm only 18 and relatively new to beer from a discerning perspective but I thought that the extra stout was much more bitter than the draught at the very least.

  • Creamy Head... haha.

  • Hints of chocolate? Are you kidding that shit tastes terrible

  • @JaSAmUDuSiCETNIK fuck you

  • @laputadetumadre11 why so angry? it's just beer and my opinion we all have our own opinions but Guinness is just shit !

  • anyone hating on guiness is just a beer pussy. OMG its bitter stfu go cry to ya mum or go drink some busweiser piss water

  • hey Lee, thank you man, you got me into good beers rather than mexian/american crap. i found rather interesting that it wasn't as bitter as i expected from your review.. i drank it from a tap, maybe that changes the flavor a bit...

  • @serginietor guinness is always better on tap.

  • When they say it's like dirinking a meal they mean the amount of calories not the thinkness...

  • @dannysmith15 It's actually pretty light, 126 calories in the 11.2oz bottle if I remember. When I really used to drink this was my got-to session beer. A 12 pack at a time, no problem. Now my drinking habits have changed, but when I drank to get drunk Guinness was always a good choice.

  • @SETexasCustoms Why did you even reply? I was simply stating when people say it's like drinking a meal they are refering to the amount of calories not the thickness. It has more calories than any other beer in the world. It may not be near the amount in a meal but it is still a lot for a pint!

  • @dannysmith15 And I was simply stating that it's actually pretty light. It in fact does not have more calories than any beer in the world, in fact it's almost in light beer territory. Many porters and stouts are over 200 calories in a 12oz serving, Guinness is at 126 in an 11.2oz serving. Again, relatively light.

  • @SETexasCustoms Ok it's third in the world but there is only one in the world over 200 calories. Also it's 176 not 126. And you don't have a ''seving'' of beer. Serving is generally used to refer to food. I also think it's more appropriate to measure liquid in mL. Oz should only be used for solids or the weight of something.

  • @dannysmith15 I think you may have been looking at Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, it's 176 calories. The Guinness Draught, reviewed in this video, is... well you know what it is. I can hardly believe I'm debating this on Youtube, but there are many beers over 200 calories. A quick search on Google turned up McEwans Scotch Ale at 295 calories. Anyways, I do admire you enthusiasm and persistence. I now graciously bow out :)

  • @SETexasCustoms Ok I was wrong about that. However my point still stands that people are refering to the amount of calories not the thickness then they say ''like drinking a meal''. That was my only point and why you stuck your nose in is beyond me!

  • @dannysmith15 uh yes they are talking about the thickness, as an irishman and lifelong guinness drinker "like drinking a meal" refers to the thickness of the beer and how it lies in your stomach heavy, not the calories

  • @EmeraldIsleStar Ther are refering to the amount of calories in it! Even though it is a low mount that is what they are refering to due to ignorance! If you saw two people having an argument in the street would you walk over and butt in?

  • Oh please, this isn't even a good stout, and 100Percent is right, American craft beers outclass this macro produced crap.

  • it is too bitter, and has no smell other than bitterness. It is THE worst beer in the world.

  • @dmctactic i found it rather "unbitter", at least in my experience.

although it may not be the best, it is certainly not the worst beer in the world. corona, budweiser... al those are basically crap, no matter what you say, they are.

  • Waiting for it to settle? What you talking about? You mean the head of the beer or the ''sinking bubbles''. You drink it when the bubbles are sinking.

  • @dannysmith15 you have to wait until it turns pitch black, then drink it. it's not me saying it, it's the people that make guinness

  • trust me used to vomit guinness when i was a teen it is the worst thing to vomit ever.

  • 4.2 % alc/vol and you actually finish drunk off from it? buy the time i drink six pints im sober over a night out i guess if you gulp all six down in one hour maybe but its a guinness sip and enjoy :)

  • @9Spetsnaz

neck a bottle of vodlka, that will get you pissed

  • ha elharlock over hear in ireland they say that when arthur guinness first created his product he called his son into his office and said have a pint of this stuff so the son did and he said ''jaysus thats horrible'' but his father said go on have another so he did and his so said ''well maybe its not that bad'' so his father told him to have another and he said ''its ok actually'' anyway after six pints the son said this is the nicest stuff ive ever tasted and its true ha nice vid

  • lol drinking that same beer atm

  • i had a six pack of guinness and felt fine real buzzed afterwards and i love guinness and will never go back to regular beer

  • Guinness is an insult to stouts.

  • hmmm tasting this now...

must say, kind of a dissapointment.

people told me you either love it or hate it...

im not gonna drink it again and thats purely because of the lack of taste in it, to me this beer goes along with any typical cheap beer like schulten brau. far from being worth the money i just spent on it.

i'll have a La Trappe Quadrupel or Gulden Draak over this one any day !

  • i got me a 4 pack of this guinness and i got to say this beer sucks, not good taste

  • @MrLamaravilla25 I don't like it either, it was a waste of 8 dollars for a six pack.

  • @hostilerosstyle yea im glad i only got me a 4 pack cus i was about to buy a case

  • Everything in this life comes to people's different taste & choices.... for example, if you like strong coffee you probably gonna love strong "coffee" beer's flavors like Stouts beer's.... if you like ligther flavor's you would like "lagers" beers... I love lagers beer's!!! and it comes from a Costa Rican who likes "best god damn in a world strong coffee".... How could you explain that?? It is just what the tongue says to everyone....

  • He wants to have many in a row and got sick & vomit it..... (I dont believe you (Sarcasm))

  • Guinness Stout is a great drink. Draught in the pub is where it is best consumed, canned stout quality has improved

  • saturday afternoon..match day..6 or 7..then another 6 or 7 in the evening/night..easy! haha

  • elharlock, have you tasted Murphy's? It's pretty nice. It's not as good as Guinness IMO but pretty close. Definitely worth the try.

  • @Jaymouthful I think I have, but it was so long ago that our liquor store carried it, I can't be sure.

  • i drink alot in the army cf ftw

  • @wrather this is probably a beer for experts... i dont like it too...

  • 2 or 3 my arse

  • @simonkrk What? You'll have to excuse me if I don't sit through a three year old video in order to properly respond to short, vague comments like this.

  • @elharlock *humorous statment displaying my opinion on only having 2 or 3 in one sitting, i've seen many a man hit the double digits

  • @simonkrk Ahh, I see. Back when I made this I thought Guinness was pretty heavy stuff.

  • Hate canadians motherfucker said pub haha I got news for you buddy you've never been to a pub til you've been to Belfast or dublin

  • @cpdusmcdst9 You've obviously mistaken me for someone who gives a shit about your opinion on the state of Canadian pubs.

  • @elharlock have you ever tried St Ambrose Oatmeal Stout? its a Canadian Stout and is pretty good. seems to get pretty high ratings. once i drank this stuff for a month straight and tried to go back to Guinness and there was no comparison. as far as taste goes. but Guinness is a great beer because it is more abundant in bars and restraunt. altho i love any beer but cant stand the domesticated stuff.

  • @weewoozesty Yes, St Ambroise happens to be my all-time favourite beer. There's a review in my archives. This review of Guinness is highly outdated. My tastes have changed quite a bit since I did this review, and the rating I give here is highly out of wack now.

  • @elharlock aye i happen to live 30 seconds away from a Beer Store that has 3 go-to beers that i love. Westvleteran 12 is always in stock with Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and then The St. Ambroise. i will admit i always try to hold beers to their stature. but that also means i wont touch any Macro beers with a 10 foot pole

  • 1 of my favorite things about Guinness is the cascade effect!

Those who know Guinness know of which I speak!!

And if U hold a freshly tapped pint o' Guinness up 2 a halogen grow light, an extremely muted burgandy glow is what U see!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • From the age of 17 this has been my go to beer. You just can't go wrong with a Guinness of the tap in a pub.

  • i had 8 of those 15 oz cans of guinness last night before some pabsts, i give guinness an a+ and i would say that you can deffinatly drink alot of them if your not a pussy.

  • @orangelobsterman -i can drink them all night, at least 9-13 and have a good buzz, but i cant drink bud for shit...i'll get drunk outta my mind

  • its so bitter...nasty

  • have you reviewed or plan on reviewing sapporo?

  • @poolio Yup, it's in my archive there somewhere.

  • The Grand Winner is Guinness 5/5.

    KilKenny 3/5.

    Harp 2.5/5.

    SmithWick's 4/5.

  • Come to Ireland and have a proper pint of the black. Its the best way to have it. Nice review mate, sláinte!

  • here the guinness has 5%

  • one of the most delicious beers I've ever tried.

  • I love this pack! I only seen it during ST. Paddies day round here.

  • overrated

  • I remember Guinness. Had it when I was 19, thought it was motor oil lol. Very thick, very heavy.

I'll try it again in the future

  • 7 pints of guinness on a night out and ur only getn started,2 pints an ur only teasing ur self,ur friend is a light weight, you would like the porter house pubs

  • @fragglesparky

i can drink 14 pints of the good stuff and i wont even be started........... i shit you not!!!

  • You know, I have always thought these overly carbonated beers were the ones that filled you up. Guinness is so smooth... I didn't even like dark/bitter beers before I tried Guinness and now I am hooked

  • i tried it once, hated it, ended up pouring it out.. i would have to aquire a taste for it.. i might like it one day

  • wuts the difference between this and budwiser

  • @aplayaz2000

ALOT is different between this and the piss bud, coors, miller, etc all put out. Watch the movie Beer Wars on netflix instant view if you have netflix.. if you don't try and find a copy of Beer Wars to watch.

Seriously, I think buying budwiser is just throwing your money away.

  • @fire2box yeah budwiser is throwing money away

  • is a little white ball in the can 33 cl

  • @prozip Yup.

  • Tried it, liked it.

  • All my friends hate guiness It pisses my off so much.

  • Great review. You and I seem to have had the same experience playing the harp.

I started last year right around my birthday and never looked back. I really can't fuck with anything else save for a Heineken or Rolling Rock every now and then.

  • One thing I noticed when drinking Guinness from the Guineess glass, the Head backs away from your lips as you drink it. It would be nice to be able to drink some of the head while sipping.

  • You need to try WEIHENSTEPHANER Hefewissbier Dark. That is top notch.

  • I tried one years ago, but couldn't finish the glass! ( I was young, and Guiness was new to me) I have to try it again, now that I have learned a bit about beer. Cheers!

  • to me i like spirits more then beer i dunno why but i have gotta try this one its actually on my list. I usually drink vodka, Jack daniels, Cognac stuff like those but im having a hard time finding them separately as i dont drink much

  • Comment removed

  • once the foam goes away it sucks. but sipping at the foam i awesome

  • Do you like irish beer?

  • i can chug the shit out of this stuff and never puked awesome stuff

  • i bought a 12 pack and didnt like the first 2 very much wasnt what i was expacting, then it grew on me. The next day after a slight hangover the beer was perfect, its made to drink on the 2nd,or 3rd day of drinking , lol

  • Well, dude, you re perfectly right! this is what i experienced too. it's not love at first sight, i guess

    ;-)

  • worst beer ever

  • just had a taste of this and it instantly reminds me of soysauce...

  • your retarded

  • you're* dumbfuck

must have been because i was baked. the first time around so the taste buds were enhanced so that was the reasoning for what i tasted, but when i drank it sober it went down like nothing. tastes alright.

  • If your going to correct someone on their spelling, at least have your own mistakes fixed first. You look like a complete tool pointing out the word I spelled wrong when your entire response was full of grammatical errors. This must mean you're a dumbfuck as well? Congrats on proving to me you really are retarded.

  • uh oh this guy turned on grammar mode he's serious lol

    and yes, i didn't read that ;)

  • i'd fix my grammar mistakes if i actually gave a shit about what's going on here

  • your mom needs to slap you in the face, matter of fact that's probably the reason why you bring the negativity hahaha

  • I know this review is almost two years old but have you ever tried Belhaven Scottish Stout? If you like Guinness you might like that one too.

  • I believe I have, but don't quote me on that. I do know that I have had Beamish, which I quite liked.

  • i heard you shit black after drinking this

  • Do you think that's in the least bit plausible?

  • @elharlock just telling what i heard..dont really care if its plausible..just thought someone might discredit or confirm it

  • I've never noticed Guinness or any other stout change the colour of my crap. I suppose it could happen. It's probably different for everyone depending on diet, etc..

  • @elharlock

The next day after having 5-6 Guinness my ass explodes. Concider yourself lucky my friend. Cheers

  • @elharlock i would, seeing as u shit green after eating pesto

  • @seansosa that's true lol

  • I'm trying this drink out now. Will put my review video up later in the week and about 0mins-1hr b4 this drink I was finishing up my 1st ever guinness extra stout 5%. This draught I have is 4.2% both video's will be on my page later in week. Cheer's.

  • Look forward to seeing them.

  • After my first glass of Guiness I can not stand anything brewed in the USA. In my opinion there is just no comparision.

  • @Seitheach67 Agreed! I've been drinking for about a year, and anything else I can't stand!

  • @Seitheach67 American craft beer crushes Guinness.

  • "put down that other generic shit". classic . 5 star beer.

  • Never had this one b4. almost bought a gift pack yesturday(3 can's and a scarf w/name on it)

  • I dont get the white fuzz when i pour from a bottle.....

  • It has to be the right temperature my friend.

  • what temp then?

  • 38 degrees farenheit

  • well put, its top notch.

  • How can you compare amstel with guinness... I'm all for opinions, but you're talking about two different levels.

That said, I shall try Amstel. I'm always up for new stuff

  • Very good beer! Great looking, nice head...can't go wrong! Its funny....i got my Guinness glass stealing it from a bar also! Hehehe!

  • That's the way to do it, wear a good size coat and sneak a pint glass in your coat, you can always clean the thing when you get home.

  • i just got a can of this for the first time tonight and i mixed some red bull into it. it's a Jamaican classic. it was great. i have to say that my experience with ales and stouts up until now has been a negative thing, but i honestly LOVED Guinness, even just straight, without the Red Bull. it is a great beer. i highly recommend it!!! thanks for the video review =]

  • y would u mix anything into ur beer ? :P

  • like i mentioned, it's a Jamaican classic. you don't have to, it's like enjoying an Arnold Palmer---you can enjoy lemonade and iced tea without mixing them or you can enjoy them together. it's preference and i like that.

  • you bought a guinness, your FIRST guinness...and ruined it with red bull!?

    you disgust me

  • "ruined" is completely relative. it was awesome. quit trying to be some elitist beer snob....it's not working for you ;)

  • love guinness

  • pint of heavy

you call lagers in the USA beers its confusing!

    nice ales

  • well theyr all beers, lagers just a type of beer

  • im not keen on guiness its personal taste one of those beers anyone either hates or likes

    they make good adverts tho

  • do you know how to pour a guiness

  • Just reviewed Guinness myself. Amazing beer. One of the best.

  • yeah i love this beer! reminds me a bit of hobgoblin, one of my favorites... just like iced coffee plus more!

  • Comment removed

  • extra is nicer...

  • 5/5. Im a newly 21 yeaqr old Irish American. Fuck Yeah.

  • sure your "friend" stole it. wink ;)

It's a light beer, you probably could slug a bunch of these but why would you want to?

The best stout in the world? Are you mad? You're saying this is better than Young's Double Chocolate or Samuel Smith's or St. Ambroise or Rogue?!!??!

    It's very average.

  • No, actually he did. We both had to work together to steal a replacement glass for him.:)

Yeah, I over-rated Guinness here. That's why I re-reviewed it in my blog a little while back. I might even do what you did and do a video re-review at some point....which would actually be my re-re-review. Haha.

  • Talk to the camera like jjdaven does.

  • I take it you haven't watched the last 14 beer reviews I've uploaded. Otherwise you wouldn't have posted this.

  • lol, go back in time in your dalorean and change this vid then.

I have only watched this video by the way.. I'm sorry.

    Am I forgiven?

  • Guinness Draught tastes flat, creamy with a metallic aftertaste. Guinness Extra Stout is a much better choice in my opinion.

  • 5 out of 5?! No way!!

I mean okay, my opinion's biased cuz I don't like stouts.....I mean it's drinkable, I always get sick though. I really don't like it.

  • I want one!

  • I love this kind of beer guinness draught and murphys, I've been wanting to try beamish but I can't find it in my area.

  • Why u hate on me...faggot

  • People always say that guiness is so heavy and like a meal in a glass. But the reality is that a standard lager has more calories in it for a give amount than Guiness does.

  • but guinness is more physically heavy, like when you drink it it's clearly thicker than a stander lager

  • The mouthfeel of thickness doesn't have anything to do with the liquid being physically heavier. If you had an accurate scale and weighed an equal amount of Guiness and some regular lager it wouldn't be heavier. The thickness is just the result of nitrogen being present within it, which is what the little thing inside the can releases, I can't remember what they call it. In fact it would physically be very slightly lighter because there is more gas within the liquid.

  • damn, way to be so technical. I'm not talking about rocket science... i've drunk a guiness before and it's just clearly thicker consistency. Maybe from your little periodic table factor, I don't really know nor do i care. Tasty drink guiness is! - and thick for sure!

  • yeah but people always think it is a more filling drink and might avoid it because it is commonly thought to have more calories than an average popular beer, but that isn't true and I think lots of people are missing out.

  • guinness is 196 calories per pint :D

  • the side of the can says it's 125 calories.

  • Its 196. trust me.

  • Perhaps you're thinking of the Extra Stout or the Foreign Extra Stout. There's no way in hell the draught is that heavy, it's a very light beer.

Besides, it says on the can (or bottle) and their website and Beer Advocate and Rate Beer that it's 125 calories.

  • @Chad9976 i stand corrected, its 198. i worked in the guinness storehouse for a year. that shit is part of my long term memory now. draught guinness from a tap (where it should come from, not a can) is 198 calories.

  • do it up hougleyyyy, let me know what beer you think i should try, im a big fan of belgian darks.

  • Guinness is beautiful...but you need to try it on tap not from the can...you can have it for breakfast, dinner and dessert...I eat it with a fork mmmmmmm good

  • " I wanted to put down cheap generic shit that you can buy and look for quality beers"

    I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!

and the part that you say that vomiting guinness is one of the worst things you'll never wants to experience in your life makes me laugh HAHAHHAHA.

  • keep up the beer reviews earlack! I lovin 'em!

  • same! watching these videos has refined my taste! I watched the Bud review and since then all i can taste is that chemical finish you mentioned lol

  • good beer, bad review! Pour it, pause the camera, restart after it settles, drink it in front of the camera - you don't need to be a hollywood producer to figure this stuff out haha. You could have just poured the guiness and start reading off their website for all I know. This isn't a beer review.

  • No, I think I'll keep doing these reviews how I've always been doing them. Cheers.

  • dude have you tried the san franciscan micro brewery Speakeasy's IPA and PA; Prohibition and Big Daddy. Dude they are for me the best ales I have ever tasted! Incredible flavours! They're so natural that they actuallu start to go off after about 5-6 weeks If you can't get them where you live the closest thing I found to it was Stone Mill Organic Pale Ale.

  • i love this beer my fav and my only beer i i like that ive tryed can someone recommend me a beer a dark beer that i can try thats good please

  • got any ideas for good beer's that goe's well with heavy food? :)

  • I like John Smiths or Boddingtons with eating food. Guinness is a personal favourite but might be a bit heavy if you are not used to it.

  • guiness is lower in alcohol and calories then budweiser. I can never understand people saying its heavy beer. Its not its and has about 30 less calories then a bud, what it does have is way less and different carbonation (nitrogen). Uneducated dopes see dark beer as heavey and high in alcohol because for some reason thats what theyve been told. The exact oppsite is true, its lighter and less ABV and anyone who put down 8 buds could put down 10 guinesses.
