that has to be the dirtiest Jack White has ever performed. I'm pretty sure he wasn't even saying anything half the time when he was singing. yet, that was fucking spectacular. that's just how good he is.
I can't decide between Jack White and Jonny Greenwood as the greatest guitarist of all time. I would say Matt Bellamy as well but you don't get the same kind of raw passion from him... even though Muse are one of my favourite bands.
Never mind that Jack White is an amazing musician and songwriter, who else today has their hand in 3 different bands? Regardless of whether or not some are on hiatus or disbanded, the thing that people tend to overlook about White is that he is still going strong. 6 albums with the white stripes, 2 with the raconteurs, 2 with the dead weather and he isn't letting up. THAT'S impressive
No one compares to Jack White today. The only one I can think of is Matthew Bellamy, though he's more of a perfectionist. I just love the way Jack Illtreats the guitar to push it further and further. He's closing up to Jimmy Page's skills constantly. True genius is seldom.
I was lucky enough to spend some time backstage with the White Stripes a few years ago, and I can honestly say that I've never met anyone like Jack before, and doubt I will meet anyone like him again!
I got this feeling that he's an on old fashioned blues man stuck in the wrong era & his frustration at all our modern bullshit makes him explode raw & raspy genius!
@oyvind7 i agree with you all the way except for page. page was a thief and a drunk. i love led zeppelin and even jimmy sometimes. but the fact is he stole a lot of his music and played very sloppy most of the time.
@oyvind7 I agree with you but I'd say they're both on a par with each other, though I slightly prefer Bellamy, but that's just a matter of taste. You're right in saying they're undoubtedly the two best guitarists of their generation and the only names I can think of adding are Josh Homme, Tom Morello and John Frusciante.
He combined punk and blues rock with a taste of garage rock...that is the est combination of music there is out there.

@ckdesi He didn't steal, he tributed, alot like White with songs like Canon. And yeah he played sloppy, but that doesn't matter truly.
