@Arturaz1if it's a 200cc you must mean a 1985. if it has suspension it's 86 or newer though. my guess is they would all be the same. according to part numbers though, the carb for the 85 is different from the 86-89 carbs. the bearings are the same though.
@PowerRider16 oh ok, the guy who sold it to me said it was an 84, it was pretty much just 3 fourwheelers he put together in 2006, so would a tri moto 200 carb rebuild kit work? It runs great its just that i need a new needle and seat
@Arturaz1 well if all you're really needing is the needle and seat order the kit for the 86-89 cause the needle and seat are the same and so are some of the other parts. you could also buy just the needle and seat off ebay
@Arturaz1 no a blaster seat cover wouldn't work, the two seats are very different shapes. You can buy just seat cover material and make your own which is what i would recommend doing if you can't find a seat cover. But i checked ebay just now and they have seat covers for a moto4 200. as for top speed i've had mine up to about 47 but monstermann2244 got his up to 52 i think. Keep in mind these were 89's and they have different parts in the shaft drive and different carbs
@Arturaz1 By the way, something every moto4 200 owner should know is that a Yamaha Tri-Moto 225 is basically the same machine but with only 3 wheels. Course it's more similar to the 86-89 cause the 85 had no suspension and a tri-moto did. but the rear fender and seat are the same for all. The motor from one will go right in with work on the shaft drive unit for an 85, but it goes right in for 86-89's
@howabouttoknight the wiring harnesses on these things completely suck. they stuff tons of connections in the headlight and why? if you want to know a great mod for these in my opinion, buy a wiring harness from a yamaha tri-moto 225 it still plugs into everything and works great but it's much more organized and it only puts 2 connections in your headlight only problem is if you care about having a reverse indicator you can't now cause tri-moto 225s didn't have reverse (at least not my 83)
I found a good site for parts and went crazy I am painting my quad tomarrow and will have a vid on in a couple of days if you want the site i can give it to you!!!
idk...i was thinking a 94 or newer warrior (but i hate the 94 colors so i hope newer) for 1200. btw search yamaha parts house on google that's a good parts site and try ebay for parts you can't buy new
yeah i'm sure it will but I'll find out soon enough! probably by this weekend. the only thing that's very different about the 225 motor is the shaft drive. but the theory is that the two shaft drive setups will look exactly the same if i take the 225 motor shaft drive apart far enough. anyway, like i said, i'll find out very soon! when i get the motor and rear end back on this quad, i'll make a video of it running and riding!
hey guess what! i got the 225 into the 85 moto4 frame today! it fits perfectly! i just got a little more work to do on it before it's ready to see if it will start! (exhaust, starter, carb, and put oil in)
yeah i know. i'm so glad i got that. it's almost exactly what i needed! but it would have been better if the rear fender was nicer and the front tires were better, but it's nice anyway
i got one, runs like a champ and its a 225 with somthin in it that makes it a 250 same color and every thing, good bike

monsterrmann2244 2 years ago
where do you find parts I have an 85 missing some stuff and would love to restor it?
drkinzenbaw 2 years ago
well i find parts for my 89 moto4 200 on ebay mostly. you can try parts sites, but they're spendy stuff on ebay is cheap
fenders are hard to find that's why i got the 85 for parts
i'm sellin some tri-moto 225 parts (lots of them fit moto4 200s)
