I am the guy at the bar with the blonde hair - loved making this video. This band was a joy to tour with. 8 months on the road as Drum and Guitar Roadie. Lots of memories. I have never seen this version of the vidoe - thanks for posting
Does anyone know how to get a hold of Debora Iyall? I am an aspiring screenwriter and I would love to tell her story through her own words. She has a fascinating story and I want to tell it from the beginning- 1979 and what she read on her fortune cookie.
Sure looks help, but to why put down Deborah Harry to make a point? Its like people are saying she only got in the hall of fame because of her looks. No, its because of Blondie's (who are a band by the way) stellar back catalogue, massive influence on artists then and now and their legendary status. Romeo void are good, but no Blondie.
I just downloaded all of their albums (finally available on piratebay!). This one in particular stands out for me... what an overlooked gem! The songs are so deliciously crafted.
Can't. It's a real tragedy but the Benjamin Bossi (the sax player) blew out his hearing. Playing concert-level sax would destroy what little of his hearing is left from the sounds of things on "Bands Reunited." Much as I love the rest of the band, no one can play like that guy and he's critical to RV's sound.
We can totally dream what that album would sound like though.
This was a terrific band. I remember -- I was in Cinti,OH at the time -- and somehow I found out that she was not Pat Benatar. I remember that, "Oh Crap, when she goes on MSM that will be the end." It was. It was a great lesson in the futility of feminism. BTW, there are new issues on CD of Romeo Void. Grab them ... listen for the song about depression .. the one with the lyrics "roots of trees." This was an amazing group with better lyrics than the Police. I despise the character count on YouTu
Last time I looked there was only one sh#tty CD of Romeo Void. Look around: this was a fantastic group.
I used to think that it was ONLY because she didn't look like the suburban slut of the times that killed her career; but no one has "covered" her songs. Too raw.
One of the best bands to come out of the 80's. The media sucks. all they worry about is looks instead of content. If Deborah Iyall looked like debbie harry, Romeo Void would be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame right now.
Damn right. It's a rotten shame that women are expected to look like conventional sex kittens in order to succeed in the music biz. We guys can be ugly as homemade sin, (Mick & Keith, anyone?) but gals who are too "homely" or too heavy or whatever get shut out, regardless of their talent. Maybe that's why Janis Joplin turned to drugs, may she rest in peace.

Romeo Void is a great band should have gotten alot more attention. They made great music without the pretension of the Top Junk.
kingkull0423 nailed it regarding the Glam Factor. Regardless, they made great songs.
Thanks for posting this video!
