  • this is my fav sweet tune. I was there in 76 when this album came out. I used to play this in

an empty squadbay when i was a kid in the Marines. The acoustic were so dynamic I thought

I was experiencing something spiritual. It is so good to hear people enjoying this song and

saying what I always knew, that this song rocks. god bless your groove.

    For the

  • When Brian sings " I am the healer " at(5.38) it is spine tingling !

  • They are immortial.....I´m proud to listen there songs...thx.

  • this song was my love. i always felt so cool when i played this, back in Oct. 1976.

i was 17. this song taught me how to dance. thanks.

  • big days!!!!!!!!!!! best band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice intro...very nice song...i don't know but i love every song of SWEET...

  • Glaubt ihr es mir jetzt ?

"The Sweet" sind die beste Rockband die es je auf der Erde gegeben hat !

    Alle vier sind phänomenal ! ! !

    Sweet forever

  • Always thought this to be one of their heavier tunes. Probably because it's slower with more crunching guitar work than most of the faster rockers on previous albums.

  • Bought this album about 30 years ago, didn't like it too much for a while but now it is definitely one of my favourites. Love it!!!!

  • One of my top 10 albums!

  • One of the best songs ever written and recorded !!!

It is hypnotizing, creepy ,powerfull and beautiful at the same time !

  • GOD BLESS YOU ALL

  • they never wrote anything that wasn't great.so many great songs.

  • @diagreen There are some tracks that were not there best, but they are far and few between!!

  • listen to the drums on this album and then listen to Bonham's drums on presence (Zeppelin's worst album, but still decent IMO) They sound similar. I believe they used the same studio.

  • @TheChugulator Presence is better than In Through The Out Door

  • @TheChugulator You're right, they did use the exact same studio

  • The only thing that kept Sweet from positions occupied by bands such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc... was that the British promoters were so conservative they only went to the bathroom once a week. If they didn't have a 'sure thing' they didn't invest their time of day. Even when Sweet hit number 1 with hits like The Ballroom Blitz, they were asleep. "They are just a fad" they said. Sweet is the single most under-rated bands in the history of modern music.

  • one of the best drummers ever( next to Ian Paice!)

  • Damn i hear where angel got their sound and image from? What year is this one from.. No way Is it late 60s? Or is it ? If they have an album, from 67 68 i would like to hear that..Why don't i just look it up on wiki, Oh shit ADHD kicked in again i forgot what the hell i was looking for?..And we used to blame not being able to think from drugs..!aH

    BM

  • Still got this on Vinyl.

  • "Give us a wink" was my first (but not last) SWEET-LP I bought. "Healer" is still one of my favourite LP-tracks by the SWEET! Just excellent!

    Thanks for uploading aironatape.

    Regards from Switzerland

  • oh, i have to search for that album :D

  • Most underrated song. One of the best songs of Sweet, and an album I'll never forget.

  • @GrobiStreusel ..as are most of Sweets work. So much for the British music industry.

  • super

  • Lovely Memories ,my heart beats on , i love this so much now good 40 years after Zappa Zeppelin Srv and Jazzy etc... ,i hear a lot of music ,but i love this Band, this time this sound - Brian and the others .., only GREAT

  • Classic!!!

  • Loved these guys since I was 13!!!! Now im 47!!!!! Saw them twice in Australia and had a ball dancing on the stage with them!!!!!!! Long live the Sweet Music!!!!!!!!! Andy Scott Rules!!!!!!!!

  • @Shellyjoe1 Thats right ,same to me ,greatest Band , love theme much, funny music funny time, regards

  • they're so very good as ever 'till their last songs. love them and still listened to them. this song was my very first english one when i was only 16. the record was brought by a turkish guy whose parents were working in germany.

    greetings from turkey.

  • greetings from england, keep rocking!!!!

  • Anyone know where to find tab for this?

  • Love this album. '4th of July' is one of rock's greatest moments!

  • If one hears songs like "Healer", "Windy city", "Set me free" or also "Rebel rouser", the Sweet on her brilliant albums published, one gets really the feeling that the boys were totally underestimated in the rock scene and were pressed wrongfully in the Bubble Gum drawer. She forced the Chinn/Chapman machinery to mainstream. Still today songs like "Healer" are great. Best rockin' greetings from Germany. Keep on rockin'!!

  • A stunning song from a classic seventies album. Btw the only christian-lyrics Sweet song I know, and it took me more than 30 years to figure it out. Brian C was one of the most underrated singers during the seventies, and Sweet one of the most underrated bands. Guess all the Chinnichap stuff and the bubblegum lyrics ruined their cred early on, but these guys still rocks 35-40 years later, and that's a legacy on it's own. I'm 45 years old, but this song makes me remember the seventies still :o)

  • Sweet is the band of the best lead vocals in the all times.

    Brian, Steve and Andy.

    Mick sang very well too.

  • I had this album in vynil 33RPM. Back in the seventies, Sweet was one of the most popular bands in my school. Very good memories. I'm 47 now and still one of my favorites.

  • Will Sweet ever get the recognition they deserve?. i have a feeling they won't!!

  • I agree, they won't, and it's sad 'cause they were great musicians and had great songs. Here in Mexico they were well known and had lot of fans. I don't know if they were already inducted to the Hall of Fame, if not, they should be. Don't you think ?

  • I'm doing my part. :)

I just sent 4 killer sweet vids down the pike (facebook, twitter, myspace, blog, etc...)

  • Sitting here as a 47 year old...listening & remembering.....Ive got most from the Sweet on PC in my private workshop, way out on the countryside, and a magnificent good old stereo with 12 speakers....I just might go deaf one day....But never mind....

  • But what a way to go deaf!!!!!

  • I'd like to come to join you going deaf that way :o)

The Sweet - my favourite bad in the seventies. And I was lucky enough to see Andy Scott's Sweet som time ago.Still GREAT!

    Greetings from Germany

  • the first song I ever killed. I had the 8-track. I was in the Marines. I played it loud in the empty barracks on Saturday nights. i thought they were so underground. I didn't think there was another fan in the world. ...here's smilin' at all of ya.

  • The Sweet brings back great memories, check out The Arrows same time similar sound nowhere as good but cool none the less

  • One of my favorite Sweet tunes! Always loved the groove and feel.

  • simplesmente maravilhoso

  • One of my favorite bands! Thanks for the song!

  • Fond memories of this band. Like some of the previous comments, I must agree, this great band did not get the credit they deserved.

  • I love this band. Nobody played like they did. And Brian's vocals—one of the best in rock history. It's just a shame America didn't embrace Sweet fully like the rest of world did. Pity.

  • I love this band, look up Klaatu

  • ...Great singers...guitarist and drummer....weren't appreciated coz they were too real!

  • fucking genius...

    everything they do..

  • Most underrated and influential band EVER!

  • totally agree with you, I always felt they never got the reconition they deserved, were and still are legends in my eyes.

  • @valotwin < That is the absolute truth! I never knew much about this band until lately! I like all kinds of music too!

  • cant believe ive never heard of these guys before. good stuff

  • luv em...as an american...one of my favorites...got to see them in '78 whoo haaaa

  • This song is best listened to LOUD!!!! Sweet ROCK --- Steve is my idol!!!

  • The most under rated band ever!!

    R.I.P Brian and Mick

  • Very underrated indeed. The music critics of that time seemed not to like Sweet but we know different as to how good they really were.

  • mick died?

  • Sadly yes,Mick passed away Feb.14th 2002.But he will forever live in the hearts of all Sweet fans!Fabulous video!!

  • Amen!

  • The Give us A wink album for which Healer is on was released in 1976.

    Alfred

  • The Sweet - my first favourite band ever! The year was 1977, I was 10. Hell I'm old

  • The louder the better!!!!!!!

    What an awesome song!!!

....he spoke to me with the palm of his hand...

    way cool.

  • Man I had forgetton about this song! Brought back some memories it did.

Give us a wink, for me, was the best album these guys did.

    Great stuff and thanks!!!

  • The whole album is absolutely fantastic and over the last 30+ years, this ultra-cool track has become part of my life's soundtrack. Next to Purple's Made in Japan and Nazareth's Razamanaz, I think have probably played this album the most. Sweet rocks!!!!!

  • absoluter hammersong von the sweet.sie spielten 1976 beim berlinkonzert healer als

    koppelsong.total geil.sweet in love forever

  • Sweet Tune

  • I'm talking about vinyl - sorry, should have mentioned that!

  • Oh, while I'm here... I bought the album Strung Up while in Germany and it was a double album - 1st LP was the studio tracks and the 2nd LP was live. Unfortunately it got pinched and all the Strung Up albums I've found since are just 1 LP? Can anyone shed any light on that? When I ask for the double album I just get blank looks! HELP!!!

  • Before I give you info. Are you talking the CD or record album?

  • Ah, sorry about the slow reply! I was talking about vinyl.

  • Originally it was a double album, you're right. RCA Limited edition 1975, one LP - live (7 songs) and another - studio (10 songs). It was more like mixture of best songs from Desolation Boulevard, Sweet F.A. and single hits. Inside review was written by Tony Prince, famous D.J. from Radio Luxembourg at the time.

  • Ah yes, Tony Prince - remember him well. Good old 208! I didn't realise it was a limited edition, now I am even more gutted! Thanks for the info though Jad, much appreciated.

  • An awesome song. I grew up with the Sweet - my favourite band now, then and I suspect ALWAYS! Used to play this track to death and I've never tired of it - it just rocks! And the album sleeve with the winking eye - brilliant! PLAY IT LOUD!!!

  • Thank YOU!!! does anybody have rare SWEET tracks as MP3 files?

  • I loved this track as a kid.

I got the album as a result of seeing the cover on one of those damned Columbia Record 6 for a Penny progams....remember those????

    those stamps, hahahah

  • It is one their better tracks.

  • this is fantastic ,best song ever ;man i love

    sweet so talented .

  • What a ripper. It's right creeping out of the stereo! Uber-cool!

  • The louder, the better!!

  • Anybody knows how to contact Steve Priest ?

  • You can see it on his own homepage

  • Go see Steve's new SWEET lineup on tour this summer. He has assembled an excellent band that does the music justice.

  • I wished that I knew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • remember that album, you could lift the inside sleeve and it would wink!

  • Your're welcome. I'm glad you like Sweet tracks that were not released as singles. I thought I would put on some album tracks that people have never heard so they get an idea as to the talent that is sadly missed.

  • This song just got you a new subscriber!

This is BY FAR my favorite Sweet song.

    Thanks a bunch aironatape!

  • Check out the others I've put on and I will keep adding the odd track here and there.

  • thanks for sharing. I have not listened to this in a long time. I still have the album and it is wild because you can make the cover wink. I just dont have a record player that works. thanks

  • thank you so much your a legend with these, hope to see more, thank you

  • Thanks!!! Loved it<33

  • No problems, glad you liked it.
