Just one question. I'm an expectant mother shopping around for an appropriate and easily accessible scouting group for my child when he or she is of age. Living in Hayward, CA, will I have to travel all the way to your Oakland chapter every week, or are there more local groups that I will be able to attend in my immediate area? Your organisation looks like an excellent alternative to the Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts and I hope that my child will be able to join when it is time. Thanks.

Great question! If the Camp Fire USA council closest to you does not provide programming in your community, you should consider starting a Camp Fire USA Fire Tender Council. Fire Tenders are group of families that come together and facilitate Camp Fire programming within their group. The leader of the group is typically a volunteer parent/guardian of one of the youth.

Love the video. I am a Camp Fire USA leader in Salem, Oregon. We were picked up by Wilani Council a few years ago. My daughter has been in Camp Fire for 7 years. I used to be a Blue Bird when I was little. Thank You for the program, I have a very extended family because of the program.
