  • tapping skills are unreal!

  • how...!?

  • This guy sucks. Where are the harmonics the real music?? Go and check some Petrucci or Kirk Hammett i bet that this guy can't make Sweep pickin'

  • Comment removed

  • @MetalBaronRojo well. i'd say that he'll have no problems with this at all. only cuz he's not showing off, he shoud be a bad player? dont think so.

but BTW: does anybody now ho he tuned his guitar? thx!

  • @oppes0815 C# Standard. (Standard tuning down 1 1/2 tones)

  • @MetalBaronRojo You are the bane of a guitarists existence. You do not need to be "Fast" or overrated in Kirk's part, to be good at guitar. It's what you think sounds good. All Kirk does is Chugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchugchug.

  • obsolette... go check michael keene!

  • Wooh.. He Rocks Can I Have The Tabs Plz... !?

  • you fucking suck, your music sucks and you don't deserve to have made money off of your dog shit you call music. There are literally millions of people out there that are a million times more talented than you that deserve to be rich and famous, but instead we have talentless douchebags like this guy who have made millions of dollars, had all the spare time in the world to get better at there playing and still suck dogs dicks for quarters.

  • great guitar, but soooow hard to find : (

  • what kind of pedal or effects he use in this vid?

    thx

  • @enjoyyourtime from the sound of it, he's plugged into a deer turd

  • wow, i've been a limp bizkit fan since i was 9 but i never knew how much of a creative guitarist wes was. i dont get why so many people hate limp bizkit, the guys who play the instruments are great, maybe they just hate fred (although i don't think he's bad, he's funny :D)

  • One of my favorite guitar players of all time!

  • OMG I will see him with the Drums from Joey Jordison and the vocals from Matthew from BfmV !!!!!

  • @cod2moh123 OMGZZ THEUY'RE LIEK SO MEHTULLZZ. How old are you? 13?

  • 41 Delson`s guitar and Mike smith fans

  • WES BORLAND... THE MOST UNDERRATED ARTIST NOWADAYS!

  • good

  • Hell - this just sounds awesome.. I mean every riff he plays here should be on a record too... I also really liked the distorted sound he used here.

  • he must have been very primus influenced

  • smart fucking guy..like the shit he comes up with is really smart you know? lol

  • I used to be a big Bizkit fan as a kid, then I discovered RATM and hated Bizkit til about a year ago when I gave them another listen and I got to say they have some nice things musically, warm basses, and neat ambient riffs, but that's ruined when Durst's cancer of an ego enters a song. The songs that don't have his stupid rap-esque lyrics in it, like Hold On or, are decent songs.

  • @MarkArandjus yeah i totaly agree

  • i really can't explain how u're GREAT, I heard no more LB since that u went away...

    ;-)

  • At the begining what song is he playing or he just jaming?

  • how the hell does he do that harmonic on 1:08???

  • @will34stew28 they're called chirpies

basically you just bitch slap the whammy bar and let it ring out

  • his guitar is some what between electric guitar and bass guitar ??

  • @inTubeHD how its only 25.5 inches on the neck he just tunes down

  • That is some sweet guitar playing- Limp Bizkit ftw :D

  • bassist also rules

  • wow- wish i could do that

  • I love his style of guitar playing. his riffs are just really weird and funky sounding but so original at the same time. every time I listen to him play I'm still amazed because it's simple but not generic.

  • Wes Borland is a fuckin legend!

He made Limp Bizkit as good as they were...

  • @popkornflake new albums seems to be great. they are on fire on they´re concerts again..!

  • holy shit, tosin abasi totally stole that tapping idea from him!! 2:34...what a fucking joke

  • is that a guitar what the fuck is he doing???

just amazing, i havent seen any dude do what he's doing

  • I think the whole band is important in this case. Durst has amazing presentation and damn good lyrics, Wes is simply a total kick-ass when it comes to guitar. Otto is an insane drummer, and Rivers is one of the best bassists I've ever seen(heard). Why does it always have to be, "He contributes more" or "His lyrics are shit!" I'd like to see everyone just agreeing that the band is good or atleast just talk about the star of this video. No need to start a flame war. Thank you. :)

  • FACT : Wes is a great rhythm player and very creative. Great style

FACT: Kirk Hammett is an average rhythm player and his solos are boring and uninspiring.

FACT: The most melodic and moving solos in Metallica's songs were recorded by James Hetfield not Kirk and is way more creative.

    FACT: Kirk's vibrato is god-awful.

P.S Hey Kirk, Zakk Wylde just called and he wants his wah back :)

  • I get so sick of hearing about Kirk Hammett. Did anyone ever see the vid where Kirk struggles with a riff from 'Some kind of monster'. Kirk is sooo overrated its unreal. Highly doubt the same riff would give Wes half as much trouble. I got it down myself perfectly in less than a minute. Now before I get flamed I'm gonna say this. I was a huge Metallica fan back in the early nineties but i grew up, opened my eyes and saw that there were much better musicians around.

  • @muro2032 I have to agree. Hammett is really overrated. I know a lot of better and more interesting guitarists and they arent as arogant as Kirk Hammett. Wes Borland plays cool riffs and his guitar is great too :-)

  • Does anybody know how Wes does this kind of tapping or slapping from 2.30 up?

  • @iRrawrrr yer PRACTICE A LOT haha

  • @iRrawrrr tapping ... just hammer ons and pull offs ...

  • wes borland was the only reason i EVER TRIED to listen to limp bizkit. I couldn't keep listening unfortunately. but the way he plays so freely and lose. I love how he just threw those harmonics into the first riffs and keep changing the harmonic too! so fucking sick. THEN HE'S STARTS THUMBING AND TAPPING?! yep. that's why I thumbsed up TRoss

  • @mastr0fpuppts your account is named after the Metallica song, right? Wes Borland is twice the guitar player Hammett will ever be :P

Rock on Bizkit! Wes is amazing!

  • @XFreakXShow - See now I love Bizkit and all but Wes can't match Kirk .. Only guitarist that could destroy Kirk is Angus Young from ACDC .

  • @AnotherYankee Kirk is alot better than most guitarists. In Metallica, however, james constructs most of the riffs. That's why the pure kirk-ness does not blow the world away.

And as for this guitarist? He gives "nu-metal" areason for living.

  • Tool sound.

  • his guitar tone sounds like absolute shit.

note: this does not mean he sucks. just that his tone blows.

  • I wish he could be my guitar teacher.

  • the reason limp bizkit became so sucessful was because of the whole mix between rap and metal. They where the first (unless you class rage), but they created a whole new genre. Fred does play a part, hes the face of limp bizkit, great lyricist, great frontman. All the members are good musicians.

  • @newborn54

Did you forgot Rage Against the Machine?

  • @gombie i said "unless you count rage" :)

  • @newborn54

Oh, and don't forget aerosmith/Run Dmc's Walk this way.

  • @gombie lmao, i dont think that should count tbh :) limp bizkit (and rage) where the first bands to actually do that sort of shit, as a band.

  • Is he playing it in his standard tuning? I believe it's tune down 1 1/2 steps. Someone correct me if im wrong.

  • @Grunge454 yeah it's C# standard tuning.

  • ye tross240 ye! Wes creates the whole atmosphere on his own.

  • That's the hotdog flavored water

  • This man is fucking crazy !!!!

The best guitarist on this fucking world!

  • @Kiweganello fuck i hope your kidding.

  • wes borland is my fav guitarist,... even tho he doesn't shred hes fucking amazingly innovative

  • amazing!

  • @Boilerrollin lol

  • I love how even Limp Bizkit fans jump on the Fred Durst hate bandwagon now. Wes is clearly the most musically talented but, as annoying as he is, Durst was a huge part of the band's sound and on the first 2 albums and bits of the 3rd it worked very well.

  • The opening lick was pretty sick, what tuning was that in?

  • Goosebumps ...

  • wes borland is so awesome..

  • I'd love to see him and Les Claypool play together!

  • he is able to make me feel good and bad at the same time.

  • the opening riff sounds a lot like Tool

  • such an underrated guitarist!

  • @luzacon No, he is playing Yamaha now.

  • @luzacon

    yamaha

  • amazing guitar tone. when he's talking about the intro riffs he does about 1 min in, are the squeals/noise in between the riffs from artificial harmonics or from effects? sounds almost like a ring mod pedal. im confused! they sound great

  • @Seagerash no FX. You take a natural harmonic (not necessarily, but to me it sounds better with harmonics), but instead of plucking it with your pick, you only touch the string in the right spot with one of our fretting fingers. Then you let your trem "flutter", meaning, you only hit the tremolo arm, which (with a floating trem) will make it vibrate for a short amount of time. You're, don, there you have your awesome squeals. Works with "normal" notes too, btw ;-)

  • that tapping is quite amazing

  • Limp Bizkit:

    99% - Wes Borland

1% - Rest of the band.

  • @TRoss240 Sam is a sick bassist,John is a hell of a drummer & Lethal is damn good at turntables.

  • @TRoss240 you're right limp bizkit is not limp bizkit without wes. his guitar playin so unique that it makes the whole band unique. his playing is able to set all anger free and at the same time makes you feeling well :)

  • @TRoss240 Honestly it goes like this

    Wes 35%

    Sam 35%

    John Otto 20%

    Fred Durst 6%

    DJ Lethal 4%

Durst does do a decent job in fronting the band on the first two albums but added to much whiny emoness to Choclate Starfish and at times made the album way too commercial.

  • @TRoss240 Sam Rivers and Jonh Otto are tremendous much more than Fred and Wes !!!!!!!!

  • @TRoss240 bullshit all are good

  • @TRoss240 dude, please... John Otto is one of the best drummers in the world, how can you say such things ;/

  • @TRoss240 i fail to see the truth in that because no one just wants to listen to wes play guitar fred made the band lol. also the other band members had their part so b4 you start sucking wes's dick even more get your facts right bitch... >.>

  • @TRoss240 do not say shit

  • @TRoss240 wes is insane, but to be fair sam rivers is a highly underrated bassist, john otto is one of the best technical drummers in the world, fred durst has amazing stage presence and dj lethal just kicks ass.

  • @TRoss240 if that was true, other bands of borland would be great but none of them were as good as LB!!! LB soul is something different!!!!

  • @TRoss240

The Bassist and John are a integral part of the band, too!

  • @TRoss240

You have to give John Otto some credit too. He's a very good drummer.

  • @TRoss240 nahhhhhh....Sam Rivers is the best bassist on Nu MEtal!!!!

  • @sadamysumama no ever heard of Uehara Futoshi? He is the new Flea...

  • @MikyWrita but "the new flea" means that he or she ( xD ) plays the music that plays flea, and i am talking about new metal, no alternative rock..

  • @sadamysumama lol i dont speak english so i didnt know that XD but this guy plays Nu Metal: watch?v=eSIG2KkAVVY

  • @MikyWrita yo tampoko hablo ingles...jajaaja...

  • @TRoss240 Completely agree, but that 1% really matters though. Like it or not, Wes isn't the same animal when he's solo. I think his guitar work is far more interesting with Bizkit than without. Fred may be a loud douche bag of a front man, but he clearly does play some factor in getting the best performance out of wes possible. Black Light Burns is a cool band, but not one of their songs hit's the musical highs of "It'll Be OK"

  • @TRoss240 that is fucking bullshit , Wes is very good i think one of the best guitarist, but 99% is so much for me :) I love LB as stuff !

  • @TRoss240 bad for you... Sam and Otto are amazing musicians they are formed in funk and jazz style and lethal and fred puts their old school hiphop and rapcore flavour... definitely they are a great band all 2 together... but obviously Wes is the soul of Limp Bizkit

  • holy shit that weird tapping sounds awesome!!

  • isnt this guy the lost brother of dave grohl?

  • master

  • Sounds like Wes listens to Buckethead (a good thing imo)

  • this was the reason why i'm taking guitar lesson.

  • Don't you know what guitar is it?? Cause it's a great thing.

  • @tomek9619 Its wes's signiture yamaha...

  • @junkman134

    Thx a lot !

  • @doyle30

great coming out.. too bad you cant bring that in front of your parents.

all of us are kinda sad about this thing.

  • wow, that tone really blows.

  • Wes Borland is the only true talent in Limp Bizkit. Fact.

  • @touretteEd2 fiction, Wes is the most talented, yes, but not the only talent.

  • the best!!!!!!!4EveR

  • Wow, sounds like hes been playing for 6 months.

  • @Benno828282

you should follow doyle30 and suck some cocks... could help..

  • @TRoN1Ck

your defending wes borland enough said those guitar lines sound like poo poo

  • @doyle30

oh yeah poo poo.... i love how it sounds! you hate? then fuck off and listen to metallica and hit and call yourself hardcore cuz you hate numetal. bastard

  • @TRoN1Ck

why would i listen to metalica there so weak, i dont when i said i was hardcore but i think ill definatly make fun of numetal everyday of my life, i cant beleive numetal even happened. it still brings a tear to my eye thinking about all the numetal kids when that shit was cool, oh the times have been good looking back. why dont you listen to real metal like carcass or decapitated instead of all that trend core crap.

  • @doyle30

hahah. oh god you sound like the biggest faggot. some people like metal with lyrics that can actually be understood and drum beats that wont leave you with a goddamn headdache. not supporting nu metal either (even though wes is a great guitarist) but dont make yourself sound so goddamn high and mighty

  • @foshooooooo

im no elitist i just no that garbage guitar riffs and boring drums that i learned in my first 6 months of playing are wack. Not just wack but hilarious, nu metal kids clutching so hard tilting there mental heads side ways while looking at the ceiling, what a fucking joke, trending shock rock of the common era all hail.

  • @doyle30

id love to see you cover a decently limp bizkit song and put it on youtube. also, the shit you listen to has lyrics that involve killing people, raping people, and killing people then raping their dead bodies. glad to see there are so many good songwriters in death metal. some people like shit that has a little depth to it.

  • @foshooooooo

well i wouldnt waist my time making a video cause that would be absolutely restarted. as far as metal, raping corpses lyrics make about as much sence as reading a stephen king novel even though you think i have a rather small understanding of music with my minor metal reference eat a dick, im a jazz major and im gonna be that smug. your a naive idiot

  • @doyle30

hahaha, jazz major? you already sounded like a fucking retard, but now its certain. have fun making less than 50k a year for your whole life, faggot.

  • @foshooooooo

well you see my other major is business so thanks for coming out

  • @doyle30

    Im guessing thats a lie.

  • @foshooooooo

Nope i go to Bishops University Sherbrooke Quebec and my major is a Entrepreneurship BBA so technically i'm a 4th year business student then i take jazz on the side because there is interdisciplinary elective, thanks for coming out though

  • @doyle30

An Entrepeneur...I still see failure in your future.

  • @foshooooooo

thats funny you say that, seeing is every company started with an entrepreneur even though i want to go into sales after school. hey what are you credentials again?

  • @doyle30

Notice how a lot of companies fail early on, especially with the economy how it is? yeah....

  • @doyle30

i don't give a shit about real or not real. i listen to music I like... so whats the point?

i also listen to tool, stone sour and so on... but my favourite will always be limp bizkit. no matter what.

you heard the new song? its awesome!

  • @TRoN1Ck

so ignorance is bliss bud enjoy coal chamber while your at it

  • @doyle30 - How about you go listen to how real metal sounds ? Go back to the 70's with Black Sabbath and fucking Ozzy Osbourne. Carcass may sound harder but it isn't true metal like the originates.

  • @AnotherYankee

who says i dont like sabbath? Sabbath has nothing to do with this tool.

  • @doyle30 - Did I mention that you didn't like them ? Fool.

  • @AnotherYankee

    ok...

  • WES THE BEST!

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD

  • el west es y sera um perro para tocar

  • 2:35 to 3:00 mins theres a song with it incorporated in it wats it called

  • @0919dodge2500 I Think it's " Sour "

  • Love that guitar

  • it's cool but his playing reminds me too much of Limp Bizkit....

  • the moment i first saw his face unmasked i had to think of something between seth green and jim carrey dunno why :)

  • wow i'm really surprised! didn't think limp bizkit's guitarist has such skills!

  • @66sicbastard maybe you should have listen to the music then?

  • Nothing special about the first riff. hammering out 1 finger chords is pretty run of the mill. But he does some pretty cool shit in the second riff

  • one of my all time favorite guistarists glad his back with the bizkit they needed him

  • @bizkitmaniac Fuck yeah Fred is nothing Without Wes

  • Whenever Wes plays a sick riff...i can just hear Fred Durst yellin out, "BRING IT ON!"

  • @jsr121689 Either that or "GET THE FUCK UP!"

  • best comment i´ver seenn

  • Every guitarist has something about them that makes them special,at least they play guitar and not bash it like most people.

  • 1:02 nobody on earth can play sounds like this!

  • @MrKnisterable whammy.

  • @growlingmetal thanks! I will try together with vibrato/tremolo

  • @MrKnisterable my bad, it was flutter, i didn't see his right hand. Whammy could work too. i meant the pedal.

  • @MrKnisterable What?! It's called a tremolo bar. And pretty much anyone can do it. It's called flutter.

  • I thought hollow bodied guitars can't be used for metal.

  • @SangsterBoy

they are great if you want the warmth from a semi-hollow

  • @samick94 Oh.

  • wes, mike einziger from incubus, and trey from phish are all underated and yet my guitar heros

  • Here sketch this yer talentless twat ! rubbish

  • here sketch this yer talentless twat ! rubbish

  • I LOVE his guitar! anyone knows the name??

  • @brightguitarplayer37

i believe thats either a yamaha or deusenberg

  • he should have been the guitar player for primus, he has probably the most unique approach to guitar from morelo to broderick
