  • Very helpful. I'm planning on making a california Temaki roll and have all the ingredients except crab sticks. Only crab I could find where I live was tinned white crab meat in brine. Just out of interest, do you have the crab hot or cold?

  • When you say put the shiny side down, do you mean facing down so that the dull side is facing up (the part with the rice)?

  • At my local sushi bar I found out that if you want to own a sushi bar and make sushi you have to practice rolling rice for one year. It's like a degree in rolling rice. Hah.

    I would never do this at home though, it's much cheapier and much more delicious eating out. (I pay about 7$ for 8 pieces when I eat at my local).

    Apparently in Japan its 3 years! crazy...

    Look for an all you can eat buffet...i pay 22 bucks (in Canada) and I ear like 30 rolls plus edamame, miso soup, salat, dessert etc! haha. So check it out!

  • Havent tried making a C-Roll yet but looks fun enough to give a shot and looks like this guy gives enough detail to make one, just gotta buy ingredients.The mayo on the latex gloves was actually a smart thing to do I dont see many people do that sorrta thing, I give u props on that and for making me hungry hehe.

  • @Elladoll5 You can use jasmine rice and any other soft rice can be used if you're making a seaweed outside roll. If you're making a seaweed inside roll like on this video, you will need a stickier rice such as glutinous sweet rice or sushi rice. For a little kick, you can make spicy sauce by mixing chili powder/chili sauce with mayonnaise. To slow bacterial growth if you're going store the sushi for a few hours, mix rice vinegar with the rice. Wasabi, eel, soy sauce, and pickled ginger extras.

  • As ive understod id a California roll is ment to have the seaweed on the outside and the a touch of majo inside not just on ur gloves lol. The combination of something greasy like majo or salmon and wasabi really good.
