  • i was at this show. fucking amazing! they played third season, halloween, fall children, prayer position, and basically the best set they ever have. I love AFI. I have 2 AFI tattoos. CrashLove sucked. I admit it. But i still love this band, and i hope they get back to their aggressive roots and connect with the true fans again. I understand people grow and change, but CrashLove was a major disappointment for the people who drilled them into their own skin.

  • FUCK!

  • Adam's such a sick drummer. I don't believe AFI tried to go mainstream, I think with their newer stuff they just wanted to make different sounding music, and personally i don't like it near as much as their early and middle stuff

  • Its the vinyl paaaaannnnnnnnntsssssssss!

  • i would die.

  • AFI has evolved and changed, Art of Drowning is my favorite but you cannot overlook the talent or the quality of the music they are making now...things change that´s life

  • i think everybodys going on about mainstream, and selling out but maybe it says more about ur perspective and attitude to art to label things rather than afis

  • in my opinion this is one of the best songs ever written and played.

  • i miss the energy of the crowd (AFI still has the energy). look at that, ive never seen any of this happen in their recent live performances. anyway gd find lol, never knew they played this live

  • I miss the days when you could stage dive at AFI shows. Fucking barriers and shit >:|

  • ahhh

one of my favorites off AoD!

  • favorite song from AOD "Deathless Ones!"

  • best afi album....best album of this decade..the art of drowning

  • yesssss club laga.....pittsburgh pa represent!!!!!

  • Honestly, what AFI fan could disagree that this album wasn't the best, or one of the best?

  • I disagree, "Shut your Mouth...." best album by AFI by miles.........

  • Yeah I was at this show, makes me feel old watching this show from the good ol days. As far as I'm concerned TAOD was the last CD AFI made.

  • The Art of Drowning gives me a boner!!

  • XP kinna creepy but thumbs up

  • so im guessing if i ever go to an AFI show they wont play this

  • who knows? they might just throw it into the rotation this tour, you never know with AFI : )

  • I seriously, seriously doubt it. Their set lists have become so predictable this tour. It's a shame, really. They play everything from the past 3 records, and then randomly throw in one song from 91. What the fuck is that? Play some Black Sails and AoD!

....I wish AFI still played Hardcore. :-(

  • @DanReligion i couldn't agree with you more. they need to play some of those two albums which are by far there two strongest so far and will be forever. i want the nephilim, the lost souls, despair factor, malleus maleficarum, but most of all strength through wounding. but, i know that'll never happen.

*god i hope i eat those words and that they play em. :)

  • @DanReligion

    they played wester in atlanta

  • Yeah, great for people in Atlanta. What about the rest of the old school fans that go to their shows and they don't get to hear Wester or anything like that? What do you say to them?

    Just playing devil's advocate.

  • @DanReligion you realize what they've become? what was it like over 10 years on independent labels and touring heavily just to get there name out, got on a major label and made it big,

yeah they changed but still put on a good show, their hardcore music is the best though, but now they put out a single and the 12 year old girls love it and compare em to hannah montana and jeffree star and shit so now they have to play miss murder and love like winter

  • they might when i saw them the other week they played secret ninja, they made a pole XP they asked if we wanted love is a many splendored thing or the secret ninja and the secret ninja won XD

  • it's an awesome song

  • the crowd has no idea how lucky they were to be there

  • @canesrule96 you're right...i was at that show but i had never even heard of afi at the time. i was only 14. just in the right place at the right time... i love that they make being vegetarian and straightedge look so good.

  • @quinacridonemoon when was AFI a straightedge band?? xD lol i mean songs like nyquil and such you would think different...

  • @MrBowskii Uhm... no? Do you even know what Nyquil is?

AFI has always been a straight edge band, and they talk about it in their songs. You just have to read between lines (Let It Be Broke)

  • @TheSecretNinja337 uhm yeah you can get high as fuck off nyquil xD ah well idc if there straightedge there the shit 7 seconds was straight edge and there the shit also.

  • @MrBowskii It's "they're".

  • @MrBowskii just search "davey havok straightedge" or "davey havok vegan" and you'll find a bunch of interviews/videos about it

  • I sooo cannot wait for the new album. I hope it is going to be as amazing as their past 7 albums. I love everything AFI has done and it has been a long enough wait for this new album.

  • glad i saw this video..this is one of the best on the art of drowining

  • <_< You better not ever get banned or take these videos off, I will cry.

  • I agree, TAOD is my favorite, and it is very sad that they abandoned their old fans

  • The Art of Drowning is soo good, my favorite album! Thanks Pablo!

  • I would love AFI to return to their horror-themed days. Their still a very good band, but one has to wonder how a band passes from cartoons of demons by Alan Forbes and a title like "The Art Of Drowning" to "Crash Love".

  • Me too. I just laugh at what they do now.

  • I would ask you one has to wonder how a band could stay on the same concept for 9 years?

but to answer your question on how they changed like this, AFI has always had a broad taste in music and in art, they made that known many times when in interviews they said the things they enjoyed.

AFI has simply explored the other avenues of there taste and themselves, it happens when you are a complex person free of a tunnel vision view with art.

  • To answer your question, it's just about natural evolution. The progress from BSITS to TAOD to STS was natural, but with DU they left what they have been doing just to appeal a bigger audience. That's selling out. Or is it coincidence they explored an avenue that is mainstream now?

  • And even DU could be slightly hinted at, thematically. Musically it was a sellout, but thematically it was still a tiny bit old AFI.

But again, would you have not beaten up not nine but measley five years ago anyone even suggesting that the band's logo would be a heart?

  • @TheSecretNinja337 Es verdad, pero no puedes negar q sus letras siguen teniendo ese toque que solo ellos han tenido desde que empezaron.

  • STS was an exploration. Blaqk Audio was an exploration. DU had part experimentation, part sellout.

Crash Love=/= AFI. It is a freaking sellout, because it feels like just another attempt to join a wave of plastic fame.

  • lets make judgments about the record before it even comes out!!

    awesome

  • OK, I have rethought it (not right now). Crash Love is certainly not as an awesome title as any of the previous 7 their albusm have had, but it possibly suggest an extreme.

It will either be an extremely awesome album satirzing love, or an extremely crappy album with Davey whining about love.

  • very wrong. just watch the kroq 08 interview on youtube. he talks about the lyrical themes.

you cant just go around making accusations based on nothing

  • The Art of Drowning, which this song is off, is not only one of their best albums but it's also one of the one Alan Forbes drew the cover art for

  • Laga was the shit!

  • I just realized you re-uploaded it! thank you. it's in much better quality too. I'm going to delete the one I posted.

  • One of the best shows i was ever at.. Man i mis club laga, if it was still arround alot less people near pittsburgh would be strung out on hard drugs. Laga gave us something to do.

  • Wow there so amazing! Young AFI!!!!!! wOOt!

  • AFI is amazing.

    Period.

I dont care what album you like best, each album is amazing,

    and this song is amazing

    AFI is amazing

    haha..

  • HELL YEAH, MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!

  • man gracias, I have been looking for this song live for ages.

  • I love this song. It sounds great with the crowd joining in.
