Really? I always thought of it as a luxury sports car, my dad is going to get this or fix his old Porsche from like the 80's, and the problem is that I don't know which one to vote for. This or an older Porsche, someone help!
Car is fairly unattractive...but what can be cooler then rallying around town, carving corners, with your friends...in a goddamn PORSCHE?? And an allegedly roomy Porsche at that...
I dont trust american cars except Jeep Grand Cherokee, other cars are just plastic craps with poor technology. But i can make one other exception - actually american muscle cars are great like Challenger - stylish, cheep and with a lot of power.
why? the rear end of the current Panamera screams Boxster which is basically, a scaled down 911.
now the new 911's rear end is something to ogle at as it takes hint from the 918 spyder so we might be seeing a similar rear end for the next generation Panamera :D
Yes, This car is almost a sport car but it drive faster that most of sports cars designed only for sport ride. Yes this car is almost a limuzine, but it do it better, more comfortable, with more elegance than many lomo's (but they will even not preform 50% that Panamera can on road). And its more usable than most of those cars. Conclusion? Is Panamera a good car? Well its not even close to be good - its totally amazing car.
This is a beautiful car to me and this might sound stupid but i wish porsche and other top brand car makers would build a car that the average american can drive but at a lower cost. This car is 135,000 brand new and 74,000 used most people would have to make over 100k a year to even put a down payment on it
porsche must now probably stuff d audi R8's evn more appealing V10 w/ Novitec Rosso's concept twin supercharge in2 de panamera, why worry about anyting,I mean ya cars r hi-end makes wair peoples who ave de dough can reali afford examples such & its accompanying fuel demands or varied road taxes
With all the respect to Porsche, i do not like there new way of thinking, have been driving in the 911, the Panamera, and the Cayenne, and the are good cars, but still. Porsche are properly the best in the world to make small sports cars, the 911 is a prove of that. But in Cayenne for an exampel, thats is a huge problem. The one i tried had hard Suspension, which is good when you want to race, but rubbish in terrain. And a "4x4" made for driving in terrain.

European cars suck nowadays; do some research and get with the times.
@marshknute haha european cars suck?? You are very stupid but I understand you don't have enough money to drive an european car and thats why you wont to show off with your american shit car that means nothing its all ugly plastics. Please tell me then why are european cars so popular in america while the europeans hate american cars and you barely see them around here haha I know the anwer you stupid american
@MsBosnasarajevo Did you read my last 3 comments? German cars are the epitome of terrible reliability, while American and Malaysian cars are currently ranking at the top of quality charts. I know you are ignorant and won't check those statistics (b/c you're afraid of being proved wrong), but Europe's reign is over. Look at any post-bailout American car: you'll find nothing but soft-touch materials, real metal trim, class-leading engines/chassis and superior fuel economy.
@logelamutp We don't get Proton and Perodua in the States, so I can't comment on those brands. Here we get Kia and Hyundai. Hyundai is currently the #1 fastest growing brand in America, while Kia has improved their quality beyond imagination (even Clarkson has admitted that the "C-apostrophe-D" is a fantastic little hatchback).
I'm American, not British. I don't, however, use subjective values in my arguments: I look at facts, and American/Malaysian cars currently get the best scores.
@MsBosnasarajevo Contrary to your assertion, my family and I have owned European cars for quite a while. Our BMW's, Audi and Saab have had numerous (expensive) issues, while our Mercedes has had nothing but. That is why we have gotten rid of all of them except for the Audi (It's reliability sucked the least, but we're going to replace within the next year). There's a reason that BMW stands for "Buy More Warranty."
@MsBosnasarajevo Lets take a look at the Ford Mustang Boss: It costs just $44,000 and makes 444 hp. Not only that, but it out-corners a Ferrari 458 Italia (Boss = 1.01g skidpad, 458 = 1.00g skidpad), and is faster around Laguna Seca than an Audi R8 V10. Now name for me one European car which can beat the Boss. Remember, it has to be price-competitive: no Jeremy Clarkson bullshit of comparing a Mustang to a track-bred supercar which costs 7x more. Go on, prove that European cars are great.
@MsBosnasarajevo Lets look at another car: Dodge Charger. The 2011 model was a complete Chrysler/Fiat redesign: It uses a modified chassis, new engines and an interior which is entirely filled with soft-touch materials (except for the real aluminum trim). MotorTrend magazine found only one issue with it: the admittedly awful 5-speed gearbox. That said, they declared that the Charger would be as good a performance car as the BMW M5 once it gets the 8-speed auto (coming next year).
@MrFrenchie36 People like yourself are an embarrassment to the world of petrolheads, b/c you are incapable of adapting to and accepting changing automotive trends. Remember when Japanese cars were referred to as "Jap-crap" back in the 70's? A few years ago, Toyota and Honda consistently held top spots on quality charts. Since 2009, Hyundai, Kia and the Big 3 have made the same turnaround that Toyota did 40 years earlier.
@MrFrenchie36 I bet you still believe that German cars are reliable, Italian cars are unreliable, Malaysian cars are crappy and American cars cant go around corners. In fact, German cars (except for Porsche) are all in or below the 40th percentile for reliability. Italian cars now boast respectable build quality, Malaysian cars are top of the class, and a Mustang Boss pulls 0.01 g's more on a skidpad than a Ferrari 458 Italia (Mustang = 1.01g, 458 = 1.00g). You're such an ignorant asshole.
@MrFrenchie36 Yeah, thats very cool. My preciously engineered german BMW 330i 2007 sits in the garage because its not working half of the time I got it. My 1999 Ford Explorer (american SUV) has been to the garage 3 times. For oil changes. And this goes for most american and german cars. Period.
Period.
In what way English engineering is better than American engineering?
Are you still living in the age of the British Empire LOL?
If I remember correctly, even the Aston Martin is owned by an Indian steel maker now... so there is no more English car per se. Remember to say "that's a cool Indian car" next time you see an Aston on the road.
I don't understand why you would buy this when you could buy a 911... just to be able to stick some kids in the back? How about you buy a GT2, and an Accord... I miss when Porsche only made no compromise sports cars... an SUV an a 4 door... they are good cars, but the heart of Porsche they are not.
This pompous fellow with the awful skin doesn't know what he's talking about. It is most certainly a sports car, just with 2 seats in the back for your best mates.
and there are people who talk about it being ugly, it is not ugly nor it is beautiful but it looks dynamic and sleek, thats enough for me when 2 ton car can do 0-60 in 4.3sec + 195mph top speed, it is a 5 seater rocket
if you want looks go and buy some 70s italian V12 supercar, nothing can compare to them in style!
@Gabert1k it gorgeous car,i didnt like it when i saw it on tv for first time, but after i saw it in person,in front of me,it was like big WOW so beautiful :)
Of corse it's none of the car-types he tries to compare the porsche to. but porsche wanted to build a mixture and this is the most awesome 4-seated car i've ever seen and i would definitely prefer it to a 2 seater if i had a family...
If the British can't make a f* car worth a damn, how can they review one as good as a Porche?. They should stick to reviewing Toyotas, Hondas and Lexus. German engineering is completely out of their league.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@tonyjd12 If you want to turn this argument into a nationality feud, I don't have time for nonsense. I love automobiles. I've owned 7 Porches so far. My last one was a Cayenne Turbo. Today I own a Panamera Turbo. I've friends that drive Rovers and Jags. Great looks but mediocre engineering and materials. I'm a mechanical engineer and, although my field is aviation, I know quality and superb engineering when I see it. When it comes to cars, it's simple; Germans have it, Brits don't, yet.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@tonyjd12 What are you talking about?? Are you on drugs? All I said, in a nutshell, was that quality and superb engineering speaks for itself. I take offense on what you said about me stating that I am not what I claim to be. I can see you picked up the British arrogance, you condescending prick. You should stop pretending to be what you are not and realize that you live in a country that slaved your country, India or Pakistan, and its people for decades. Embrace who you really are, imbecile.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@MyTube22T firstly, all i did was ask you a question. are you american?
i like german cars! never said i didnt. they are the best in the world. i bet you did bad in leteracy- god if my planes really are made by you im shocked. but theyre not and you have nothing to do with them so it's cool.
i never actually said i'm british. typical american ignorance right there. I am of indian descent. the general thoughts of the popuation is that theyre grateful for a government.
@tonyjd12 Okey dokey. Fair enough, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Typically, when I've been asked if "I am an American", nothing good has comes after my answer to that question. Consequently, if I over reacted, I apologize. However, I still fervently believe German engineering is far superior to British. No hard feelings. Peace.
dude its the best car ever it looks good and 0 to 60 in 3.9 sec if you could name a saden that does that and look that good i will gracefully buy you one.
As an owner of a variety of Porsches from 944 through 993C2S I can say that this is a Porsche. During a personal road test of my P4S, I found the 0-60 mph to be 4.3 sec as measured by a Gtech Pro. Having owned it for 7 months, I have found nothing to be disappointed about including the economy which is a remarkable, for a 2 ton car, 28 mpg .
I would surely buy one if I had that amount of money to toss around, but on a serious note, you could get a top of the line BMW with all the amenities and power and usable space for the price of this car. However can you imagine pulling up at a function with your family pouring out of a Porsche sedan? You would be scraping the fellow guest's jaws off the floor lol.
thats a great great car !

EUROPEAN CARS RULE THE WORLD
MsBosnasarajevo 5 months ago
@MsBosnasarajevo Did you read my last 3 comments? German cars are the epitome of terrible reliability, while American and Malaysian cars are currently ranking at the top of quality charts. I know you are ignorant and won't check those statistics (b/c you're afraid of being proved wrong), but Europe's reign is over. Look at any post-bailout American car: you'll find nothing but soft-touch materials, real metal trim, class-leading engines/chassis and superior fuel economy.

@marshknute I'm Malaysian and I have to say to you... Malaysian cars like Proton and PERODUA is junk
its metal look like aluminium cans

@logelamutp We don't get Proton and Perodua in the States, so I can't comment on those brands. Here we get Kia and Hyundai. Hyundai is currently the #1 fastest growing brand in America, while Kia has improved their quality beyond imagination (even Clarkson has admitted that the "C-apostrophe-D" is a fantastic little hatchback).
I'm American, not British. I don't, however, use subjective values in my arguments: I look at facts, and American/Malaysian cars currently get the best scores.
marshknute 5 months ago
@MsBosnasarajevo Contrary to your assertion, my family and I have owned European cars for quite a while. Our BMW's, Audi and Saab have had numerous (expensive) issues, while our Mercedes has had nothing but. That is why we have gotten rid of all of them except for the Audi (It's reliability sucked the least, but we're going to replace within the next year). There's a reason that BMW stands for "Buy More Warranty."
marshknute 5 months ago
@MsBosnasarajevo Lets take a look at the Ford Mustang Boss: It costs just $44,000 and makes 444 hp. Not only that, but it out-corners a Ferrari 458 Italia (Boss = 1.01g skidpad, 458 = 1.00g skidpad), and is faster around Laguna Seca than an Audi R8 V10. Now name for me one European car which can beat the Boss. Remember, it has to be price-competitive: no Jeremy Clarkson bullshit of comparing a Mustang to a track-bred supercar which costs 7x more. Go on, prove that European cars are great.
marshknute 5 months ago

Since 2009, Hyundai, Kia and the Big 3 have made the same turnaround that Toyota did 40 years earlier.
marshknute 5 months ago
@MrFrenchie36 I bet you still believe that German cars are reliable, Italian cars are unreliable, Malaysian cars are crappy and American cars cant go around corners. In fact, German cars (except for Porsche) are all in or below the 40th percentile for reliability. Italian cars now boast respectable build quality, Malaysian cars are top of the class, and a Mustang Boss pulls 0.01 g's more on a skidpad than a Ferrari 458 Italia (Mustang = 1.01g, 458 = 1.00g). You're such an ignorant asshole.

@MrFrenchie36 Funny, last time I checked, there were no English cars, other than those sad wooden Morgans.

Period.

@MrFrenchie36
I will give that German cars are better.
Cheers!

I don't understand why you would buy this when you could buy a 911... just to be able to stick some kids in the back? How about you buy a GT2, and an Accord... I miss when Porsche only made no compromise sports cars... an SUV an a 4 door... they are good cars, but the heart of Porsche they are not.

if you want looks go and buy some 70s italian V12 supercar, nothing can compare to them in style!

@MyTube22T I'm sorry sir, but you're the one who made it a "nationality feud".
I'm sure the British can make cars, and they do. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean you have to slate the journalists. Petty.
I'm sure all those things you say are true (ahem). On another page you're probably a bio-chemist. But yeah, that's cool. You like Porsches.
I never said i don't like German cars. Your response is a joke. Please read and repost when it's fathomable. Thanks

I am of indian descent. the general thoughts of the popuation is that theyre grateful for a government.
you're not a guru. shut up.
tonyjd12 10 months ago
@tonyjd12 Okey dokey. Fair enough, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Typically, when I've been asked if "I am an American", nothing good has comes after my answer to that question. Consequently, if I over reacted, I apologize. However, I still fervently believe German engineering is far superior to British. No hard feelings. Peace.
