Collecting coins should be for COLLECTING PURPOSES ONLY, never investment aside from silver and gold coinage, because if the world economy fell into the abyss, your 1877 indian and 1909-s vdb would be worth a penny.
Actually quarters, as well as all other US minted coins can raise in value. I actually have pennies, yes, pennies, that are worth $300+. Quarters, if in good condition and if they are of a desirable year can be worth even more.
That's what makes coin collecting interesting, the more rare a coin is, the more collectors want it, which means it's worth more value. It's a simple system of supply and demand.
I paid 99 cents for that exact coin board and will continue to collect state quarters until I have every one. I understand these will never rise and value and I would anticipate to generate a profit from a non-bullion modern mint product. This is not about making a profit by any means.
Highly unlikely that typical uncirculated statehood quarters will ever be of any value. Only the highest certified grades will be worth anything significant. These quarters were pumped out by the BILLIONS (not exaggerating) and everyone and this guy's brother are saving them.
