  • See that blonde girl there? That's your mommy, when she was your age.

    But mommy's right here..?

Yes sweety, but she was a little girl then. And the girl next to her..? That's your Aunt Helen.

    Who's that boy?

That would be me, Uncle Rick.

Tee hee! Uncle Ricky! You were bald then too!

Yes, well... Merry Christmas, pum'kin... *hug*

  • NO WORDS SIMPLY WARM AND WONDERFUL HAPPY CRIMBLE, TO ALL AND TO THIS FAMILY THAT HAS BROUGHT THESE HEARTWARMING IMAGES TO US. PAUL M

  • this is nice

  • I remember those awful bright movielights back then

  • ADORABLE!

  • Very nice home movies! I was born in 1961 and this really makes me think of my parents and Grandparents. I miss them very much. There are only myself and my brothers left. No grandbabies yet, but maybe someday.

  • BTW.. I love this video. I am born in 1962 and it brings back a lot of good memories to see this.

  • Those were the days when you basically had toys twice a year. At Christmas and your Birthday. Not like kids today who's parents gives them presents all year long and then they wonder why their kids are ungrateful. Kids should get presents if they deserve it as it was. My ex-neighbor was a nutcase like this. She screamed all day and they never listened, but they got each about a dozen of expensive presents. Parents now are their worst enemy and they want to be friend instead of being parents.

  • Touching : ) No words.

  • How absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sharing this!

  • how adorable x

  • Lovely ... I hope the years have been kind to you all ....... Merry Christmas.

  • Someone had commented that the wrapping paper back then had a certain smell...I don't remember that but what I do remember was the faint smell that the tinsel gave off as the old-fashioned large-bulb colored lights warmed it. That, mixed with the smell of the pine needles. And didn't the trees even the ones you bought at the local lots in town, have a stronger more piney smell?

  • clean you camera :D

  • I watch these old classics and I can't help but wonder where these people are now. Of course some are deceased but I wonder what happen to the others. :)

  • the tinsel is so lovely..I could watch this all day...this is so precious..thanks for sharing your warm memories.

  • Any oldies here notice how xmas wrapping paper had a unique aroma back then quite pungent, but always reminded me of xmas.

Havent smelled paper like that for years and years now..

    Thanks for posting this!

  • What a wonderful video, thanks so much for putting it on here for everyone to see. Leaves you wishing for the good old days :)

  • This is truly wonderful. Thank you so much for putting up. It really belongs in a time capsule. I have to save this and study it more closely. My God! rabbit ears!!!! Great music choices, too. Thanks, Jerry!

  • Thank you so much, here I am viewing this in July. I was 4 in '60 and watched the Kennedy-Nixon debate as a timeline reference. Those were the days when I'd be playing with my heavy steel diecast tractor with rubber tires on the kitchen floor and the milkman would come in unannounced in a gleaming white cap, white suit and black bow-tie,go straight to the frigidaire and rummage through it, and in a flash, return with the items that you needed. There was a lot more honor and trust back then.

  • kind of funny this is fantastic footage, just kind of make you think why we all just cant get along you know. we dont need the presure in the world today. every time i feel bummed out i come to this my favorite video. and i feel so much better. whoever these wonderful people are thank you

  • No cell phones, computers, ipads, ipods, androids and NO security cameras at every corner! Glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's. :)

  • wouldnt you give it all to go back to that warm place for 5 minutes.

  • THIS IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIDEO IVE SEEN THIS YEAR. YOU KNOW SIMPLE IS ALWAYS BETTER

  • such a happy and wonderful time and the music for this was a great choice. I love going back watching films such as this. Peaceful! Thanks for posting

  • Beautiful song selection- one of my favorites!

  • Great images Jerry ! Those 8mm films had a wonderful magic to them ! Great post !

  • Aren't you glad someone took the time to shoot these? Thanks for taking the time to convert and share this!

  • Ah yes, the era of crewcuts, cigarettes, cap pistols and floor-mounted televisions. I wish I could do it all over again. Yet, given the opportunity to do so, I'm sure I'd once again throw my life away.

  • This is so cute. So innocent. I was born in 1962 that is why I viewed it. Thank you for sharing this.

  • THIS IS AWESOME AS BACK THEN THINGS WERE MORE INNOCENT AND FAMILY ORIENTED,NOT LIKE TODAY,THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU,GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!

  • This is amazing footage, thanks for posting :) Merry Christmas!!

  • It's awesome to see old family videos.

I didn't appreciate these things until I got older and with my own kids. I'm 37.

  • This is so beautiful. Love how everyone's crammed into the living room -reminds me of my grandmother's house. Small, but full of love when we were all crowded in there! Nobody worried about having "the biggest" house for entertaining like they do nowadayas. Looks like both little girls got Chatty Cathy dolls at 6:30--totally adorable!

  • Everyone's dressed up, as well; the one guy has a shirt and tie on, and the man in the background has on a bowtie. The little girls all have dresses on, too. I cut Superbaby some slack :-)

  • Beautiful ,thanx for sharing x love it

  • AWWW!!! Camera shy! @ 7:53

  • great memories, first thing to catch my eye was the Casper doll at the beginning. thank you for sharing

  • i really needed to stumble upon this today. I too was born in the early sixties. My parents have both passed on, and with it, seems that my brother and sister and I though very close, don't carry on the way mom and dad would have. Though this jerked a tear from my eye, it reminded me of some of the best years as a kid. Thanks for posting it.

  • We used to always hang icicles on our tree like the ones here, but it seems nobody does that anymore.

Thanks for posting and bringing back many memories.

  • truly our country's greatest years.. i miss my grandparents

  • I was born in 61 so this is exactly how I remember all of my early Christmases. Funny how the typical American family looked so much alike back then!

  • this isnt even my family and it's a tear jerker for me!

  • I too could have sworn that was our family over at Grannyy's on Christmas Eve when we got together with first cousins on my Mom's side, while my Dad would shoot the silent 8mm color film with the absolutely blinding, hot floodlights because film wasn't very light sensitive back then, but it was always a thrill to look at the footage when it came in the mail from Kodak. All the tinsel on the tree, the clothing, the hair styles, the facial expressions, everyone crowded around. Spot on perfect!!

  • Great and fun times

  • Thank you for sharing this with me,. This has bought me back to my own childhood days and Christmas.

    t

  • Notice in the background there's a pair of table lamps with two tiered fiberglass shades on them, you would now see them at auction on Ebay, and they would be highly collectible some 50 years later.

  • What a wonderful home movie. Really makes you appreciate the love of those that are closest to your heart. The "Peanuts" background music is so perfect for this song. Takes me back some years and brought a soft spot in my heart. Thank you, may God bless you for sharing a moment in time. lbhmx

  • What a wonderful video with wonderful music. I don't even know this family but this video brought tears to my eyes as it reminded me of a time in life that was so much simpler than today. What a refreshing video to see...so many happy kids celebrating Christmas with family and friends! Thank you for sharing!

  • What a wonderful window into our past. It reminds me of simpler times when my own family was still close and I was a child-kid (I was born in '69)...now its all dysfunctional and noone gets along except with certain factions. My how America has lost its way. We need to find it again.

  • @biped1of1pandemonium The family that prays together stays together.

  • Great images and choice of music Jerry. There was something so magical about those home movies without sound wasn't there ?

  • Jerry, I was born in '62, nice to see this, thank you so much for sharing. Merry Christmas!

  • You can never relive these old childhood memories, the beautifful glass ornaments reflecting off the Christmas lights and the way the tree smelled when you were 5 years old. This old 8MM movie is as close as you get. Wonderful time capsule, you are lucky to have parents with the foresight to capture this

long ago Christmas on expensive color film.

  • back when america was great too bad its all falling apart now

  • i see two 1960 CHATTY Cathy Dolls with strollers. My wife never got one for Christmas when they firsrt came out in 1960. So i bought her two vintage 1960 Chatty Cathies with original clothes and with the stroller seen in this movie.

  • i think everybody is hungry for times like these. Thank you!

  • Nice to see the television is off. When you visit people at Christmas these days, the television is always on and the children have their heads buried in telephones. The art of conversation is dead.

  • @Markgcr Kids started burying their heads in hand held games in the early 80`s and it went from there.

  • How rich you are to have this! And thank you for sharing. This was Christmas at my Grandmothers house! The whole family, the food, the old spice and the tree, even the cigarette smoke. Everybody happy happy happy! My grandmother had been gone for so long now and Christmas has never been the same without her and Christmas at her house.. Wow what a trip down memory lane. Thank you! I wonder if you thought you would get so many responses when you posted this. I think everybody is hun

  • I love real people. Very nice.

  • Very Nice Video,Reminds me so much of my own family.....Those were very special Christmases....

  • Thank you! Reminds me of such simple fun and being a kid. Great movies.

  • The lady in the brown dress reminds me of my grandma!

  • This is just how my family was on Christmas Day! I wish we had old home movies to show! This is so good. (:

  • simple times..... warms the heart

  • The little girl shielding her eyes at 2:11 also reminds me how much light those older cameras needed. These days taking a video is no big thing but back then it was a real production. That makes this video extra special.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video. It's been a crazy day baking for Thanksgiving and I needed some calm. Your video has taken me back to those days on the farm with our huge extended family. The music was perfect!

  • Could you imagine the smell in there from uncle Jimmy's cigarette at 3:18? As kids we actually used to put that toxic lead tinsel into our mouths.

  • this is great -takes me back to the day! I was about this age, too!

  • takes me back!

  • Thanks for Vid :-*

  • I love this video...thank you !!

  • I was born in 1962. This looks very familar! Thanks

  • back when people didnt care what they got :)

  • Oh! How I love watching these old movies...brings back many wonderful memories. Thanks so much!!

  • Why did everything so simple back then. Has the world lost its innocents?

  • What a Great Video! I too would like it to be the 60's again. If You are like Me, I get a Magazine called Reminisce. It's great & I spend may hours reading it. It's My comfort blanket. Thanks again for the Video

  • omg i love the 60 i wish i was there

  • Good old days are gone forever. I love the guy showing his gift of "Old Spice" at 4:25. Couldn't be Christmas without it.

  • It was a different world back then. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • This is delightful and brings back so many memories of holidays spent with grandparents and extended family. I miss them all.

  • Christmas's and tradition will NEVER be like these happy times...God bring me back to these days!!

  • Beautiful Christmas setting...a much classier time then today.

  • you are soo RIGHT!

  • This was just like my aunt and uncle`s house on xmas eve when i was a kid in the mid 60s. The house was just jammed with people. Great Great memories.

  • this is beautiful:)

  • Wow! Look how young your mom is and with all these little ones. Women of that era really deserve our respect.

  • this was wonderful to watch. wish it was like that now...i miss Christmas...

  • So many kids! No one has children these days. Sad...

  • Sharing and family thats the common element

that makes Xmas so special. The only thing

that I didn't see was the remembrance of the Lords birthday. That would have made this complete. What makes this so special is that

this could have been anywhere in the U.S. during this time period. Thanks for the step

back into yesterday to remember how it once was.

  • We still do all this on Christmas day, Leave the tv off and play all the christmas songs that we have. We had 15 people over, and after Dinner we unwraped our presents. Eight Mums and Dads and 7 Children, it was madd for an hour, But great fun and wonderfull Memories, And its all on video. Don't let go of todays memories, Christmas is what you make it. Thankyou for sharing you memories too.

  • Delightful! This is Christmas how it should be.

  • so beautiful it made me tear up. thank you for sharing your memories, and stiring up all the memories that I have too. Merry Christmas!

  • I feel as if i am back home again. thank you.

  • Very nice!

Reminds me of my Christmas in the early sixties.

Ever notice how everybody back then looked so healthy and happy.

I was looking for a Chatty Cathy, Barny's car wash, Mr. snow cone maker, Easy Bake Oven, Drive-mobile (play dash board), Buddy L truck.

    Thank you and God Bless..........

  • THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU for this clip!! "I want Christmas to come back people!" What can we do about that?????

  • wow , this is christmas as it used to be ,and should be , this reminds me of my own childhood , and I hope that my son has memories such as these to look back upon.thankyou for sharing , and very merry christmas from the Uk !

  • I so appreciate all those who are sharing this with us. Also the nice comments and memories everyone is posting. One big Holiday memory Fest here. Happy Holidays to all who are watching.

  • WATCHING THIS VIDEO BROUGHT BACK SO MANY MEMORIES thank you !! My heart swelled with child memories.

  • Wow can i relate to this. So nice how everyone dressed up even though they were in their own living rooms. We had a tree like that with the old fashioned tinsel and every so often my mother would tell us to unplug the tree and let it cool off. Such better times.

  • OMG.... it looks like our Christmas film but much more!!love it, I even had one of those pinafore dresses, certainly takes me back!! thank you for sharing

  • Great Christmas video. Reminds me of mine years ago. What a cute baby in the superman shirt! Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm crying too. How did you get in my childhood living room??? That TV - Holy Cow!! Thanks so much for great memories.

  • Wow! You must've been in my Grandma's living room! This movie brought me to tears ... thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • a lot of memories that are so similar to this film its uncanny.....

A great piece of history when christmas was about families and friends and not about who can spend the most!

thankyou for sharing this with us.

  • These scenes were played out in boomer living rooms everywhere in the late 50's and early 60's. My family's movies are carbon copies of these. No wonder Kodak and Bell & Howell did so well during that era! Thanks!

  • It made me cry, too! There are 3 people in the video who look VERY much like 3 members of my own family! I could swear my mother, grandmother & oldest brother are in this video. How odd is that? I really enjoyed watching this!

  • I am so glad so many are enjoying these movies I have posted. They are old family movies filmed in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Thank you for all your kind postings and comments.

  • wonderful ! ah the memories of a more simple time... notice that back then as children we were happy to get stuffed animals and clothes? children today are so spoiled~~~long live the good old days! thank you for the memories Jerrysworld.

  • Thank you for sharing that wonderful video. It makes me cry every time I see it--they aren't my memories, but they are similar. Bless you.

  • This is a wonderful video. My family wasn't able to afford a movie camera, so all I havw is memories and a few pictures of Christmas from my youth. Though I am not related to the family, I can remember similar Christmas' with my family. Thank you for posting such a wonderful viedo.

  • i love this video it reminds me of the old days cause that's what christmas is really all

    about

  • was a great time to be kid this got my eyes tearing thanks for sharing

  • Thank you for your vid, I really love christmas and

the unity it brings, to bad times are charngeing to where the simplicity of.............I love CHristmas..thats all I gat to say

  • Very interesting to see these retro vids of family life published, though I don't know anyone who owned a movie camera in those days! The unusual Jazz/carol combination track in the background was nice too.

  • Plenty had movie cameras in the 60s. They were affordable and not just for the rich (I was far from it). I had a Kodak Super 8 (no sound) and took lots of movies back then. My aunt had a movie camera in the 50s when I was a kid. I like the background music as well. Can't remember who it is by.

  • The music is From "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Title is "Christmas Time is Here" by Vince Guaraldi Trio.

Thank you for viewing the vintage family Christmas Film.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • Thank you for viewing the Little Christmas Movie. The film footage was converted into Mini DV and edited with sound added. Music by Vince Guaraldi Trio.

  • so beautiful

  • Thank you for enjoying this vintage film.

  • Thanks for posting this video. I cherish the days of old. I remember the sanctitude Christmas used to bring. It was the ultimate family unity occasion. Celebrating the birth of our Savior, along with going through the familiar family traditions was truly something special. Seems lost these days; everyone seems caught up in the commercial spirit and not The Spirit.

    So sad.

  • thank for bringing back some wonderful memories.

  • Im glad you enjoyed the vintage film. Thank you for your nice comments.
