This is a safety question I've had for years! Now I know! Thanks for sharing! I wouldn't go round testing windows with my hand even if I new it was auto reverse.
You wouldn't test to see if a firearm is loaded by pointing it at yourself and activating the firing pin. Great video great consumer alert! a safety consern that I've never seen after raising two kids.
GM's entire line now has the safer switches, but it took far too long. Why didn't governments legislate the changes? Why did dozens of children have to die? And why don't most domestic cars have auto-reverse yet? Safer switches are only half the solution.
Why don't American Car companies put this technology into their cars? It can't cost that much money to do. Even my 98 Nissan has the pull up switches. Come on GM and Ford, get your shit together.
my 92 Toyota has a pull-up style and I believe my 87 Toyota did as well. sure you can use the window lock button but being very rarely used most people forget about it/don't know it's there.

Another good reason to buy a VW. Disgustingly poor construction from US car makers there.

This is so sad, but why do people let their kids stick anything out the window? I'd get in trouble if I so much as put my hand out when I was little.
