Oh, I see your from the UK. That explains a lot. Government funded news. Yeah, that's real smart there. Clearly there's no problems there. Don't you brits have more riots to conduct because you've spent everyone elses money?
Cross your eyes like you normally would do, now you'll see two "copies" of the video. Try to make the left side of the right and the right side on the left to connect to eachother and focus on middle one. You might have to tilt your head so the two images fit together.
@Chekkogrnteam I was (better: I am) used to use parallel, but there's a size restriction: for parallel viewing, it's impossible to work with big images (like from 2,5 inches width).
Since I'm used to parallel, cross-eyed seens VERY VERY difficult to achieve.
You need 3d glasses to view this because, I can do the parallel one but this one has the red/greenish out lines and only one picture how do you view this without glasses?
No offence, this 3D cross eye thing is pretty awesome, but the vids are kind of boring. Sort of like when movies started being made, everyone wasn't really impressed by the movie, but impressed that it was a moving picture. I'm just saying these types of videos could be a lot better.
I used 2 sony DSCv-3 cameras _ 2 remote controlles which I've hacked so they send identical commands to the 2 cameras simultaneously. I then used an arduino microcontroller to activate my remotes once ever 4 seconds or so.
Ohh, I see. Two cameras sounds like an expensive solution. But that explains why the video is so steady, something not achievable if you were shifting one camera back and forth. (Never mind how annoying that would be...)
@MarbleMad No offense or anything, but I think the distance between the two cameras is too small. I don't experience the 3D effect at all. The pictures seem to be almost identical. What angle and distance between the lenses did you use?
@Jorickhoofd It's around 6 or 7 cm. Yeh I could have used hyper-stereo but I think it would have been excessive in this case. the details you're observing are quite close. I'm getting the 3D effect quite well with this one.
@Jorickhoofd It's based on just the distance between the cameras. The angle is something you can play with in post production and mainly controls where the image appears in relation to the screen plane. For example, everything appears behind the screen in this video. Contrast that with my Paper Kinetic Horse 3D where the subject bursts through the screen. Both use 6cm stereo separation but the horse has a more convergent view. My Locomotive video has a separation of 10cm, slightly hyper stereo
Fantastic video, the effect was perfect. These fixed shot videos work best for me; when other videos change scene or shot, I usually struggle to focus for a few seconds afterwards, so it was good to have time to enjoy the effect in this video.
cross your eyes so you see four images. then slowly uncross until you see 3. focus on the center one and relax your eyes. if its blurry then you need to move your distance from the computer.
try holding a pencil up in front of your eyes and focusing on it, moving it until the image in the background is in focus. Then slowly remove the pencil and keep your eyes still (the hardest part☺) once you can see the "middle" image just relax your eyes and try to keep it in focus. google "cross eyed free viewing" for more help

There are simpler ways of doing this :)

@MarbleMad Can't you just use one camera and put the video next to each-other in an edit-program?
Pvemaster2 1 year ago
@Pvemaster2
No. the 3d effect is achieved by having 2 vides from 2 slightly different view points.

@MarbleMad Is the Hyper-Stereo method based on just a larger distance between the cams or on the angle between them so that they converge slightly?
Interesting stuff. :)
