  • i cant wait to go sailing again next summer!

  • sunfish is a great boat and is pretty easy to right after a capsize id recomend it to any new sailor

  • nice job with the sailing, do u know where u can get daggerboards with the handle like u have, mine doesnt have it so it makes it quite awkward to pull up while going downwind

  • I'm sorry to say they no longer make them like that. Perhaps you can find a store that still has one lying around...

  • k thanks cuz i looked everywhere online it seemed...

  • All of the new racing Sunfish daggerboards are made w/this handle. Order at any Laser-Vanguard supply house, or try Ebay. List price on these is about $250ea. They are plastic.

  • Actually, all of the new dagger boards do not have this handle, the handle is the old design....

  • @SailFast13 Sorry. I guess I'm looking at the wrong boat. --#13 has the current style.

  • ok. ur officially gonna teach me how to sail. super cool

  • is a laser faster than a sunfish?

  • yes.

  • is the sunfish a fast boat???

  • It can be, if you sail it right ;]

  • how much did the sunfish with the red strip cost

  • It is a 1998 (I think), it was around 15,00

  • what do you think of a scorpion sailboat? 14'

  • actually never heard of it

  • Incidentally, I have a Sea Snark which uses the lateen sail, albeit a bit smaller, than the Sunfish. They are fun to sail and quite responsive. And I still say that a lateen spreads more sail to the wind than a marconi rig.

  • This video is very well done. Good view of the boat and sailing it. Hope to see some more videos soon.

  • I didn't know they made colored boards, thats kinda cool.

Gotta keep that boat flat(er) tho! hike an ease, don't let the bitch get away from ya :P

  • They don't make colored boards (atleast not that i know of) Thats just a fiberglass one with some spray paint available at your local home depot

  • WOW thats awsome, that must take skill, there sure are a lot of comments.

Where can i buy one of those sailboards you are using?

  • WOW you are a real idiot...

  • Cool. How much do sunfish typically run for? I'm talking used here...and since I live in Oklahoma it's kinda hard to find one.

Also, why'd you grab the centerboard at the end?

  • Used can go for anywhere between $300 to $2600 (typically) it really depends on the conditons and how old the boat is....

The reaason the dagger board was grabbed at the end was to make the boat heel, by heeling the boat the sail gets more wind whilst going downwind...thus making the boat faster.

  • Ah, I hope I can find one. Or maybe a laser. I've been sailing for about a week now and I love it! Hopefully I'll be able to keep doing it.

  • dude nice sailing,

    and video.

bring your sail in a little tighter on your cross winds

    nicee job

  • Dude B.J that was awesome...

Sorry it took me so long 2 watch it...was busy
