Its really sad that the award shows didn't put Saldana on the nominations list this year- she did such a fantastic job and they don't even consider Avatar or Lord of the Rings as part of the "acting" list.... Truly sad :( I think many of the best performances are coming from the technology we're seeing in today's movies ^_^

They didn't nominate Zoe, because the SAG or FAG people are scared of this technology. But, Cameron is right. This is nothing to be afraid of. I mean, look at Neytiri and Zoe. Zoe's performance is right there on her CGI counterpart.

Gollum was different. He was much more manipulated by the CGI artists.

It's the same company who did both Avatar and LOTR known as WETA. Gollum was a very cool creature that had quality performance from Serkis and Gollum together, but here's an interesting fact when Cameron waited. Did you know after he saw all three LOTR movies he praised them as "Modern works of art that set a new trend in technology and quality acting", it's very true and that's how Avatar came to be in 2004 when he greenlit the movie.

Here here! Avatar THE coolest movie of 2009, it's nice to see someone here on youtube is a hardcore fan of Avatar like i am, it's the movie i saw the movie times at the movies from last year to this year and the 3-Disc Blu-Ray was really satisfying. Zoe did better than she did in JJ-Star Trek, when i get that stuff to make videos i'll make some quality Avatar music videos that will make fans smile.

Life on Earth stinks the only good part about it is Love, but its rare to come by. Not just rare to find the person you love but rare for the love for nature. "They killed their Mother" we have lost touch with nature, our "mother". Na'vi have theirs and its wonderful :( If only it were real, first time i watched Avatar I was so into the movie at 3D IMAX that i thought i was in Pandora and feeling and touching and seeing everything :(

LOL I love how all the haters are trying so hard to make a logical point to keep themselves feeling better about themselves.

Case in point; same story as Dances with Wolves, Pocahontas, didn't make as much money as Gone With The Wind, etc etc.

I'd say around 2.5billion+. It looks like it's going to make it past 700,000$+ domestic making it around number 11 or 12 accounting for inflation...

IMAX 3D and ticket prices has been around for a while now, I wonder why that didn't beat any records, as all the haters would point out why Avatar is doing so good... You know? Because no one pays to see a bad movie 2x at those ticket prices...

IE; I've watched Avatar 13x to drag my friends along and I really don't care about the price LOL

Yes, many of my all time favorites are james cameron films.

I'm a big fan of the pantheist/gaia type thinking & misanthropy - so its great to see that proselytized alongside groundbreaking special effects. With the occasional nod to Aliens :)

I'm not an anticap either.. i attribute problems to human beings not their systems. but i like to point out the irony for all those who watch the film & want to demonize industry (when the root cause is human numbers)
