  • yeah... um, there's no "Sports Medicine" residency. It's a fellowship AFTER residency.

  • Hello, I am looking into becoming a sports injury doctor. I am looking to do all the schooling in Canada, as that were I reside. I am looking into the Sheridan program for the Bachelor of applied health sciences. where/what would I do after that ?

  • Most sports med docs go through a primary care residency (FP,ER,PEDs) and then complete a sports medicine fellowship. The Orthopods are usualy the only residency programs that can track you directly into a ortho-Sx sports medicine residency. Both MDs and DOs have fellowship programs for primary care docs to earn a Certificate of Additional Qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine. I did my D.O. family practice residency and my sports medicine fellowship at Chino Valley Medical Center.
