No, Christians don't just "need something to believe in". We all have faith in something. You have faith in evolution even though there's been NO proof. Animals change because of the combination of different genes, such as dog varieties, but one animal does not evolve into another. Out of the millions of fossils found there have been no intermediary fossils found. They claim ones have been found and then prove they were fakes. The evidence found confirms the Bible. God created everything.
Its ridiculous that we even need to have this stupid debate in the US.. Church is for religion. Schools are for learning. Religion is analogous to an erection. You want to play with it in private go right ahead, but dont go sticking in the face of our kids, or we're going to put you in your place.

This goes over the fact that evolution is the closest thing to 'fact' that we have and its irrational to believe creationism. However, there is still room for metaphysics, but no religion can grasp that.
