I hope the sequel explains how Christine and Erik had a son together...cause the first book never mentions them being intimate, plus in the movie (the Andrew Lloyd Webber version) the phantom says he has been denied the( pleasures of the flesh) sooo how did they have a child??
is a great book. you might like it^^ and... the phantom+christine shared several hours on their own. and as you've seen in the film with gerard butler, christine kissed erik voluntarily. (sorry for my english, but it's not my mother tongue^^)
@AerithGainsborough11 Heya. I've read the book several times. At the book there is Erik in America. Very rich, but because of his face he can't make his business. Therefore he got 'Darius' (but I think, that might be to complex for the musical) Erik builds an opera house, asks for Christine as the lead singer and finally there is a scene, he meeting son and chr. --> darius wants to kill the son, because he might get the money of erik... darius is jealous. christine must die instead of the
Why do they have to MAKE A SEQUEL?! FOR GOD'S SAKE PEOPLE CHRISTINE AND ERIK HAVE A CHILD! BUT IF THEY DID HOW WOULD THE AFFAIR HAVE TAKEN PLACE? You shouldn't be happy about that. THAT ONLY LEAVES US TO ONE CONCLUSION EITHER HE RAPED HER OR THEY HAD AN AFFAIR SECRETLY. BUT THAT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. SO WE DON'T WANT A SEQUEL. BECAUSE RAOUL TRIES TO SHOOT PIERRE IN THE END, CHRISTINE TAKES THE BULLET FOR her son AND DIES IN ERIK'S ARMS. END OF THE STORY. HOW SAD IS THAT?
I would give anything to see Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequal!
Right after I bought The Original Soundtrack of it, so I can know what the exact words are (English is not my native language), I will fly to London and see the show! YAY! ^^
I thought Christene-chan would have had kids w/ Raoul-kun!!!!!! They did get married, right? *goes hides under my covers and sings reqriem* (I can't spell 2day.)
OMG i love the songs u used time 2 say goodbye is my fav song ever iv loved it ever sense i was young but its not andrea boceli singing it =( no1 can top him singing tht song im sry ^-^ but poto is my fav movie everrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Trust me, no you don't. The book is so bad that i wanted to burn it. It is the most screwed up piece of literature I have ever read. Do NOT read it!!!
The Phantom of Manhattan is HORRIBLE!!! The Phantom of the Opera the Original by Gaston Leroux is awesome!!! So definately read it, but not the sequel. :)
Thanks for watching! the first song is All I ask of you reprise, the second one is "time to say goodbye" sung by paul potts, the third song is the end of down once more sung by Gerard Butler...hope this helps. this was one of my first videos before I got my new software...
This video makes the sequel look romantic, but most fans think the book ALW is using--at least in part--as the basis for the story is pure crap. The "romantic" idea of Christine having the Phantom's child could only have happened if he took advantage of her some time off stage in the stage musical. In the book, she was unconscious or semiconscious---anybody think rape? That's pretty romantic.
part 2 In addition, however or whenever the child was conceived, it undercuts and ruins the Final Lair of the stage musical (and it is a sequel to the stage musical) because the pathos of that scene was that the Phantom had never been touched willingly by a woman and had been "denied the joys of the flesh" because of his face.
They should have left this kind of stories to fan writers---who, I'm sure, would have done a better job.
@Bric Maybe their love night was after she raul with left. In the movie Raul en Christine weren't married then, that happened after that. And the night of christine and phantom was just before the wedding :-)
@Mndjj a lot has happened in the two years since I wrote the comment, but nothing has changed my mind that a sequel to POTO was a very bad idea. We now "know" that according to the story of LND that she looked up the Phantom and they had a hot night just before her marriage to Raoul. Then he left (why? she had told him his face didn't bother her and kissed him twice). She passes her child off as Raoul's, the marriage isn't good. Then they go through the whold which one does she chose AGAIN.
The show has folded in London and is not "triumphing" in Australia. Who cares. It was a bad idea from the beginning and will never be anything like a hit. Good music isn't enough to save a musical if the story and characterizations aren't good.
@Bric Maybe their night was after she and raul left :-) Raul and christine weren't married then.. and the night of christine and phantom was just before the wedding.
This, to me was a bunch of random scenes from the movie paired with someone singing in what sounds like Italian. I'm sorry, I just really hate the idea of a sequel. If there is a sequel, Erik hasn't learned anything and his complete change of heart at the end of the movie was all fake. It will ruin it for me.
Actually there is going to be a sequal. Its called Phantom: Love never dies. In it Erik starts a freak show in New York 10 years after the incident, and Raul and Christine are flat broke, so she starts singing again, and you can guess who decides he wants christine to sing for him.
Phantom of Manhattan is a book by Frederick Forsyth really good actually. came out in 1999 and I bought it to get some kicks and giggles but it was truely a great story!
You did a great job with the clip, shame about the actors :| ... and I'd rather cut my wrists and bleed slowly to death than watch this traversty that is in the making !
If we're really lucky, it will all be nothing but a rumour ...
Chirst, I'd rather they make a movie of Susan Kay's "Phantom" than a sequel to POTO.
