Whether we liked it or not, I agree Danica Patrick is a good (not great) pick for Driver of the Decade considering the waning interest in IRL. Until she came along, no one cared much about the Indy 500 as they used to. I would've picked Ron Fellows from Corvette Racing because without him, there wouldn't have been a bigger Corvette Coral at the ALMS races.

Hahahaha, Leo cracked me up today. He had a point about the racing this decade though and now that I think about, I do see. Of course, there are a few interesting things happening like Schumy with Mercedes this time, No Pontiac or Lexus in Grand-Am, More GT cars competing against the Porsche contingent and Audi still not doing a full season campeign(At the moment anyway). Hopefully though, it'll be better the next decade.

Same here. Formula 1 just wasn't the same after Senna and that whole generation. It sorta got boring after Damon Hill, Eddie Irvine and the others stopped. It became too polar afterwards...

The Senna days were great. Real drivers at that time and before. The battles they had at the track was insane. Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet are the warriors I used to watch back in Brasil and stopped watching F1 after I moved to the US. The new kids are great and all, but I don't think they would do much against the drivers I mentioned above. Lets see what the new year will bring us. Schumacher and Senna (The nephew)?

The reason is that the current calendar started with the year 1 AD (or the 1st year of our Lord), not 0 AD, because there's no such thing, and there definitely isn't such a thing as a zeroth year, either. So the first decade started with:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 AD.

The next full decade would start with the year 11.

Now add 2000 to each, and you follow the same pattern.
