  • With such good production value you think they would have gotten better actors. Just sayin'.

  • its reall close to the story

  • To tell the truth, the lady is so stubborn!

The lady shoulda known how bad the paw is already

yet she still wants to make another wish.

I agree with the Martin. Don't make anymore wishes lady!!!

    That paw is bad luck!

  • I watched this a school today and at the end when the finger ond the paw moved everybody in my class screamed! Also, I dont mean to be mean but when the class swa her eyes they called her a killer!

  • @RyukiAkiyama that's....pretty much how i feel about it

  • man i saw this in class today!!

  • HAHA we watched it it LA and everyone screamed at the end

  • I wonder what the son wished for, because the monkey paw can always find a loophole and mess up his wish.

  • When I heard her scream, I had the headphones on at FULL volume so I went like FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!

  • I SAW RYAN IN THE BACKGROUND! XD

  • This is not the Monkey's Paw by WW Jacobs, is it?

  • @H057IL3 you mean HH Jacobs?

  • @pillow489

    Nope :P

  • Oh the drama lol.

  • Great but so far away from the story

  • The monkey paw is really creepy looking and the people are too!

  • i loved this video!!! its awesome!!!

  • fuck i hate this i am doing this shit for English course work fuck school!!!

  • this is differnt from the version i read but the mom is sooo fucking stupid

  • at the the end that was fuckin scary

  • what the hell the women just slaped him and crached his face like that how is she wolverine

  • great job...dont listen to the ass bags! let them do better!

  • i read it @ school

  • @jerritopia same i goto LDBSS u?

  • @jerritopia Me too

  • As a fan of the 1902 story, I was disappointed. The musical score was terrific, but that's about it.

The dialogue felt forced, which I believe to be a result of the combination of amateurish acting and amateurish writing. The actors did a decent job with non-verbal acting, but their line delivery just didn't work for me.

The actor who played Carl did an excellent job conveying his emotion through his facial expressions, and was the only character who seemed genuinely sad about the death.

  • bad acting -__-

  • This is real amateur.

  • wow no offense but the mom character is stupid for doing that

  • for 11 minutes that was awesome xD

  • Good video! The acting wasn't bad and the score was very good for the tone of the story. The woman was over the top, but she NEEDED to be to get the supernatural element of the story to have credibility. It's not as good as the version I once heard on BBC radio years ago though brrrrrrr!

  • "I wish I had a lightsaber"

    and that's how it started.

  • Wait a sec, just how rich were the guy's co-workers that they could collect $10,000 for the famiyl? I mean, I'd expect a couple thousand at most, but 10 is pushing it.

  • @snipergirl21 It should of been like a personal savings account he had that she didnt know about. I feel you on that one.

  • The dad's picture looks like an Awesome Face.

  • To you geniuses who say "it's nothing like the story," get off your computer and go read some books.

This film adaptation captures the tone and theme of the original story and is extremely useful in showing the danger of tempting fate. That was Jacobs' point in writing the story, it's the theme of this mini-film.

  • this is nothing like the story

  • First off, let me say how much I've enjoyed the RvD films...amazing stuff!

My 9th grade English class just finished a class reading of "The Monkey's Paw" and I was hunting for a film version to show them. Despite the liberties I know you had to take in adapting the story, your film is extremely faithful and I'll be showing it to my students. Thank you for keeping the language appropriate! I can't wait to see more of your work!

  • Hi, nice video. I have to ask though, does that lady has something wrong with her left eye?

  • I was totally on the edge of my seat during the whole 'Twilght Zonesque' thing. Sweet.

  • This is by W.W Jacobs, retards,

  • @darkdragong123 It's by Edgar Allan Poe.

  • BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, wishes always come with a price

  • Omgz, this was sooooo good! :D

  • Wow! That was good. I have seen things on SyFy that were absolutely terrible compared to this. Nice job!

  • what did the boy wish for?

  • @superkid325 I guess for dad to be dead and burried again to save his mom from the horror. I guess he was a second to late, judging by her reaction.

By the way, Michael, I listened to The Matrix: Rewritten and read your alternate prequals on Down In Front. You are a really good screenwriter in my opinion. Not a bad actor either :p

    Cuddo's from the Netherlands!

  • @superkid325 for the dad to die again. he didn't want the horror of having him crippled and him and his mom seeing him.

  • wat was the ending all about, did she see her husband or not

  • @WesthamMr OH, SHE SAW HIM ALRIGHT ;) he was home, but he was just a body with his guts hanging

  • coming dear! lol

  • here eye's are retared!!!!!!!!!!

  • @deadpool652 Out of four words, you managed to get three wrong. I'm not sure you should be calling things "retared".

  • @DorkmanScott - Indeed. When YouTubers attempt to insult people who actually make a valuable contribution to the medium, the insults themselves typically reflect the nature of the person attempting the insult. 'The Monkey's Paw' is awesome. Great work.

  • @DynamicMentalFitness insults or not the viewer had already given the net points that these people need, they don't care if u like it or not, it's all about numbers, everyone's a critic in this world so stop bitching :P

  • @xjthg187187x - Stop bitching about my bitching :)

  • @DynamicMentalFitness I'm not bitching just setting you straight so for future references you don't look like such an idiot :)

  • @xjthg187187x - Thank you so much for looking out for my best interests. It's good to know that there are people in the world as kind and giving - as obviously bright and intelligent - as you.

  • @DynamicMentalFitness It feels good to be appreciated once in a while :), thank you, kind, idiotic friend :)

  • @DorkmanScott He Just got two words wrong, your not the brightest crayon in the box either buddy :)

  • @DorkmanScott he got two out of 4 wrong actually but good point :D

  • @iNSANETEMPSZ isn't it 3?

  • @deadpool652 Your spelling is retarded

  • @deadpool652 Don't be a retar!

  • this is really good!!!!

  • This is one of the most eeriest things i've ever seen...

    BRAVO!

  • But int the play the son dies, and instead of 10,000 they asked for 200 pounds.

  • Watched this because I did the play for this.

  • thise skared the shit out of me

  • I loved it i have read the story and i love the way your changed it round the ending was freaky when the paw moved

  • This was really good. When the son started talking about how messed up his father would look I was bracing myself for what would be a horrible sight. Now thats suspense

  • Though I was looking for a direct adaptation, i suppose we can't have everything. It was great though, and basically the same.

  • I liked the story.

  • Why didn't they just use the third wish to make sure the Dad was normal?

  • why the father died? XD

  • @sims182 I have noo idea lmao

  • Holy fuck man.. that dragged me in so deep. ._. That cliffhanger got me wondering, though.AWESOME VID!

  • remake of this on my channel is some funny stuff!

  • Can i ask where you got that paw from?

  • That shit was scary! fuck! I cant even do my work...

  • saaaaweeeeeeeeet!!

  • Amazing, better than the one I red from the book! Good job!

  • i like it better than the original

  • the story i read, it was the dad that was persisting and the son died. and some general Morris came

  • @iilaznkidz This video is a retelling - it's taking a fresh new look on the source material. I'm glad they didn't stay 100% accurate in that sense, the same lessons and story is still there though.

Scott, great job. Might be a dumb question, but how did you come up with "Dorkman?"

  • @iilaznkidz Scarriest Ghost Stories Ever?

  • this was really intresting, i loved it, in my opinion its kinda a mix between the twilight zone, and goosebumps

  • did u make this?

  • if so, thts gud acting!

  • it sounded like all the voice tracks were dubbed over.

  • Very good!

  • the acting is painfully bad

  • OMG right after Martin told Mom about how Dad was fixing a machine at the shop, Martin whiped his hand across his neck in a slashing motion, and that's how their dad died: Almost being decapitated.

  • Aren't YouTube videos only supposed to be 10 minutes, no more?

  • Goosebumps :P

  • you did a great job with this story. fun to watch!

  • Holy shit, this is creepy.

  • very nice.

  • good musical score, i always personaly think a good socre will add to 50% of a movies delivery of a scene, some good lighting will also add to a drematic mood..very good overall

  • dey got this wrong ... according to wht i waz taught in class herbert dies ...and no sergeant major morris? .. :p .. but still everything else is the same .. itz gud tho ! : D

  • this is a great story but not scary

  • i read this in English class last week and this version is different but very simular

  • Awesome interpretation! This was one of my favorite stories when i was in literature class.

  • the knocks scare me :P

  • rofl, same!

  • 10:22

I love when they do that: Music is so intense that you don't need to hear the dialogue.

  • This is my favorite piece of dialogue:

    Mom: It worked!

    Martin: What worked?

Mom: What the hell do you think?! The paw! It worked!

  • what's wrong with her eyes?

  • @xxxKenseIxxx Yeah, I know. I was wondering the same thing.

  • i feel so bad for them

  • read this at school and then i watched this, it was sh*t scary!

  • average acting. the guy is too obvious and affected.

  • this is so GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!

  • Michael Scott, you did a great job. Keep on doing stuff this cool. I like how you made it in the contemporary era. The story isn't set there, but it's easier to understand this way. You were smart to do that. Thumbs up to you.

  • Herbert: Mom, what is that?

Mom: It's a monkey's paw, what does it look like?

    LOL

  • it was martin

  • First of all, I realized that after I had posted the comment, and second, in the story, his name was Herbert. I was thinking of the story and meant to put Martin.

  • Comment removed

  • yes that is true.... BUT the actor for the dad probably want there so they switched it... thats a theory.

  • AWESOME.

  • i think i crapped my pants

  • -That- was -awesome.-

  • @Feronen i saw this on stage and in that story the son dies and the mom wishs to

    him back

  • becareful what you wish for because you just might get it

  • Dude, is this homemade? It's damn good!

  • OMG !!!!!! i have to read this for a test!!!!!! Dint scared me at all the story but this movie sure did!!!!!!

  • my teacher sowed me this...

  • did he/she show you how to spell? lol

  • yes,, she was a language arts teacher,,

we had a test on it,,, and read the book,,,

  • omg scary!!!! teachers should show this in school! :D

  • In the origional story, the son died :P

  • That is scary!!!!!

  • really good

  • What exactly happened at the end? I couldn't see, it was too dark. Was that a tombstone next to the house in pitch black?

  • no, since they wished that ONLY his father to be back home and not alive or in pieces since the machine almost ripped him apart they were pretty much saying that there was gonna be a zombie with his head hanging out his body and intestines hanging out his stomach lol.

  • So it was stopped before it happened, that's why I didn't see anything?

  • well kinda, its not like he would have killed the family it would just scare them and they just wouldent even want to see him that was so nothing would have really started but yea the kid wished his father back to the grave so when the mother opened the door he wasent there

  • @DJInterstar I'm not sure. She definitely would not have that kind of horrified reaction if she just opened the door to find nothing at all. I think what happened was she opened the door and saw the hideous zombie dad just in time right before he disappeared.

  • @molemanninethousand

wow.. I wrote that comment 6 months ago... I find it amusing when people reply to such old comments lol.

  • @DJInterstar That happens to me all the time, and I like it. I check my homepage constantly for comments, and am happy whenever I see new ones in my inbox.

  • It's quite different from the original story by w.w. jacobs

  • i read this in school... this was rele good =)

  • Fuckin scary!!!!!

  • correct me if i'm wrong.

the morale of the story is, mind what you wish for. everything you wish for comes with a price.

    is that right?

  • I think it's more like, Be happy with what you have

  • like the twitch at the end, creepy

  • i watched this with my class in 2nd period 4 english. pretty creepy.. and plus the lights were all off in the room..lol good story..but whats up with the beginning? it looked like a comedy.

  • i watched it in class as well, quite bad acting lol
